Implement the bootable disk clone

I have a basic model last iMac 21.5 "2013. It was slow so I bought a 120 GB external SSD that I use as the startup disk and now, it's great. I would now like to divide the internal drive to be a clone of 120 GB SSD (just in case) and 880 GB external for documents, etc.

What is the best way to create the clone of the SSD so that he clones per week and is bootable? I'm not comfortable using Terminal Server.

Any help would be much appreciated. I already have Carbon Copy Cloner and a billing to buy other software such as Super Duper.

Thank you.

CCC will work for external cloning internally. However the destination for the CCC drive really needs to be large and small not as the source drive.

Personally, I have a dual boot system and use CCC to back up both of my drives start at several different external drives larger.

FWIW personally I try to erase the internees, clone back to it from the outside, then try again starting and running from the inside.

    my vista system crashed and now it asks me for my vista drive.  He doesn't like my drive to upgrade to vista, says that my XP system drive does not work either.  where I kenza a copy of vista disc that works?

    To reinstall Vista:

    You can not legally do a clean install of Vista with a Vista Upgrade disk/license.

    Reinstall XP > then go to Vista.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Here's a startup repair disk, you can do:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    Compaq presario cq57-339WM does not recognize the drive as a boot drive recovery, I'm sorry people, I searched and I entered the job in New York as a matter of research. I ordered the HP poped the first of the two recovery disks, but the machine does not recognize the drive as a bootable disk recovery.   • T61 - unsuccessful attempt to upgrade the HDD using "Acronis True Image - disk clone".
    T61, Win XP Pro,
    Problems with the free space on HDD - disk(160GB) factory original is more than 90% full.
    There are a lot of existing user settings and the user information on the HARD drive - of the specific settings for different network environments (home network, company network, VPN, etc.), specific applications, a lot of drivers for specific devices, many documents and photos and other information.
    So, we need to upgrade the disk, but we do not want to go back to factory state - we want to keep all existing user settings and user information.
    The existing drive was dismantled and connected to a standard desktop PC.
    And using "Acronis True Image Home" the existing drive has been cloned again drive WD Scorpio Black 320 GB.
    There is not any errors during the cloning process.
    But when we set up the new drive of the laptop, the OS has not started - black screen with blinking cursor only flashing white dash (top left). So, we put back the old disk, in order to work.
    After cloning, we see the new disk is similar, as it is on the old drive. There are two partition - hidden, system partition partition with Windows XP and all user folders and documents. Thus, we believe that the problem is only in part "start".
    Everyone can us advice what is the problem.
    Or we let another solution how to change the drive, but without going to the factory condition.
    Thank you
  • Clone the hard disk, including Photoshop CS6, and now it works like a trial Extended CS6.  Why?
    I was running a licensed version of Photoshop CS6 on computer Dell Precision T3500 years.
    The hard disk was running out of space, so I disabled Photoshop CS6 (not uninstall), cloned successfully, all of the hard drive on a new larger hard drive, and then again CS6.  He now works as a trial Extended CS6.  Why?
    At this point, I'm not re-entered my serial number, since I did not purchase the extended version.
    I would she runs as just CS6 (not extended) and be able to activate it with the same serial number, I used before.
    (Over the years, I've updated since Photoshop CS2, in CS4, CS5, CS6 to - don't know if it matters in this case).
    Enter your serial number and your extended trial period will be converted to a full ch (not extended) when your serial number is evaluated.
  • Stuck with Windows 7 64 bit from the old disk HARD of SSHD migration
    There are a lot of smart people on this forum - maybe you can advise me. I recently bought the Seagate 4 to Desktop SSHD ST4000DX001. I'm stuck with migration my Windows 7 64 bit and all the data from the old HDD to the SSHD.  Then I used the Windows Disk Manager to format the SSHD in GPT format (recommended by Windows). Then I used XXClone (freeware from the internet) to clone my old HDD. There was a message of XXClone who said that as the SSHD is GPT formatted, it didn't ensure that the clone is bootable. I tried to start the sshd with the clone of my operating system and data. It did not work.  Now I use the new SSHD as a secondary drive and I use the old HDD as primary bootable drive.  My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-A55M-DS2.  It's EFI but not UEFI.  I heard that EFI support starting from the 3 TB GPT partition while UEFI support starting from much larger disks.  Is this information correct?  Does this mean I have to change the motherboard in GA-H61M-D2H-USB3 to use my 4TB SSHD to start from a GPT formatting?  Help, please.  Thank you so much.
    Problem solved.  I did a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit for my new 4 TB (format decimal numbering system) SSHD (3.63 TB in binary system).  He starts without a problem.  The cloning approach has not worked because my old HDD MBR format and it the SSHD uses the GPT format.  This means that I have to re-install my games and copy my data from the old disk to the new.  Thanks to everyone who responded to my messages.
  • Reduce the size of the VM disk?
    Hello
    I have a client who has an ESXi 4.0. The person who put up, set up with disc 3 x 1 TB, with 1 data store spans 3 discs, without redunancy, raid, or backup. This is my understanding of the functioning of data warehouses, that it is a bad set up.
    I want to recreate data warehouses, so there is a 1 store of data per disc, and I've only another 1 TB drive to do this, but one of the two virtual machines is defined with a size of virtual disk of 1 TB and I tried to move it to another disk of 1 TB, and it failed during the process I think because of lack of space. I was going to try to create new virtual discs and clone the readers through, but does not support the previous technology implemented servers with dynamic disks, instead of base and Acronis cloning to dynamic disks.
    So I wanted to know if there is another way to reduce the size of the virtual disk of the virtual machines, so I can recreate data warehouses. Or if anyone has any other suggestions for how can I do to recreate data warehouses without losing the servers.
    Any suggestions would be helpful and let me know if I need to provide more information, thank you!
    Hello and welcome to the communities.
    You can use VMware Converter to reduce the size of the ramdisks.
  • Qosmio G10-133 - Install Qosmio Player and using the recovery disk
    Hi again.
    My g10-133 was the mother of uypgraded installed by Toshiba that there are back and forward in his first year with problems of graphics chip, so they installed the motherboard with the 6200 chip chart.
    Until very recently, I installed Windows XP to one of my dead computers that I've ever had anywhere with my original recovery qosmio disc such that it has been damaged. I recently bought an other G10 as I wanted to replace the keyboard and display and it came with disks,
    I put in a raw player. I used the recovery of the Qosmio player disc, and this indicates that it is complete. I then installed the Toshiba Recovery disk that has Windows MCE on it. (I have now three original copies of the present). But when windows go to start, the computer gets past the Bios and then quickly goes to the blue screen of death... I tried to use break so that I can read this, but it does not work. I tried more than a windows disk, but not joy. I also had special instructions for Toshiba, which has the Qosmio updater on him, and also another drive which has some additional drivers.
    So far, I've tried all sorts and whenever I go to start the laptop, it crashes. The Toshiba recovery disc has two methods that an automatic and a step forward on (which I don't have a clue how to use). The automatic, which does not implement the normal windows installation, but evokes a Toshiba says... and it goes from 0% to 100% and ends each time.
    If I use my Windows XP disk from another pc it install fine. and the laptop is fine until it reaches download Windows SP3, which seems to slow everything down.
    I would like to install the Qosmio to style factory if pos.
    What you need to help your service provider which has replaced the motherboard. A long time ago I heard talking of this and what I know is that the machine must be ready for use: This means service must update the BIOS, verify compatibility of memory, RAID functions are not the same, Bios, EC/KBC and DMI must be updated and rewritten. The laptop owner must be willing to work with new hardware components.
    If I m remembering well this new mainboard has different chipset and recovery image that you are trying to install has really bad drivers inside. With other words: after the Exchange system motherboard drivers and the Qosmio Player require an update.
    You know the whole process is a bit complicated, but, as far as I know, Toshiba service provider must send you instructions for Qosmioplayer update and instructions for the update tool.
    At the moment I can't help you. Please call again and ask for help. If you will not get any help it let us know.
  • L20-101 problem with bootable disks
    Hello!
    I have a problem with bootable discs. I try two disks bootable, that have been successfully tested before in other systems, but my L20-101 does not start with them.
    After the startscreen, there is just a white screen.
    is this a general problem with the L20-101? the installation of the update of the bios to version 1.80 had no effect.
    does anyone have a solution?
    Thank you
    Hello
    The boot disks you are using?
    Have you tried to start with other drives for example with the delivered Toshiba Recovery CD or the original CD of Microsoft Windows?
    It would be very interesting to know if there is a problem disc or unit.
    Please check if pressing the C key allows you to boot from the drive.
    Good bye
  • Satellite L750-1LC - Boot Manager is missing by using the recovery disk
    I bought a Toshiba satellite L750-1LC and I try to create the DVD 4 to save.
    On the first dvd that only he came an error reading twice, the other DVDs were ok.
    When I try to recover from the DVD the recovery process got stuck on the first dvd so I had to reboot and try again, but the same thing happened to it.
    After you restart the system it came a message that bootmnager is missing and windows and any other thing was gone.
    Is the promotion of "No. Matter What Guarantee" "covering this type of flaws?
    If so, what are the steps to qualify for this promotion?
    I said that I am a Romanian citizen and I have already implemented for promotion in the specified time interval.
    It seems that the first recovery disk is not created properly because you got an error message.
    As I understand your message, you have tried to boot from the first recovery disc (which was not correctly created in the past) and so the installation could not be completed successfully.
    Now, you cannot start the operating system, because the Boot Manager is missing and possibly the system is deleted also
    I see just one solution: order the new disk recovery from here and use it for the installation of the OS: http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
    PS: as far as I know that hardware issues are covered by the warranty, software issues not covered by the warranty
    Hello
    If I understand your question, you are not able to start than your laptop and operating system Windows doesn t start too.
    Is this good?
    If you are not able to start windows or using safe mode or normal mode.
    Is this good?
    Well, in this case you will need a Windows bootable disk.
    You must either the Toshiba Recovery disk or the original CD of Microsoft Windows.
    Usually, you can order the recovery disk Toshiba of the ASP. But in some cases it would not be possible if the device would be too old. However, you should ask the ASP.
  • My SSD is not appear in the menu on the boot disk (macbook pro 2012)
    Hello world.  So I just got the macbook pro 2012 and starts to do-it-yourself work last night.  I took out the optical drive, transferred the existing location HARD disk (w / caddy) and installed an SSD in its place.  Then I cloned the SSD HARD drive.  No problems so far.
    When I went to change the boot drive startup disk preferences is where I ran into a problem.  My original HARD drive is the only projection.  I had the problem in choosing the boot drive during the reboot (the SSD will appear in this menu) and makes it the default value it.  SSD works very well and is now my main boot drive.  However, I still would like to show in startup disk preferences.  Is it possible to do (preferably without erasing the SSD)?
    Thank you!
    Relevant info - I'm running El Capitan and I used SuperDuper! to clone the HARD disk.
    OK, can I have found the problem.  Map of partition of the SSD has been MBR, no GUID.  I deleted it, reformatted and I am re-cloning it now.  I'll post the result (I hope that as a confirmed for another solution which meets with this).
  • Equium L40 problems using the recovery disk
    Hello
    I wonder if anyone can help me?
    I want to restore my computer but when I put the recovery disk in I select the cd/dvd rom drive by pressing f12 at startup.
    I also maintained pressed C when I lit. I select the disc I want to start the computer, it goes to a black screen, then it loads just windows up as usual.
    I phoned with Toshiba for help and all they could tell me was that as another drive worked on my computer, it isn't a problem with the disk drive, but a problem with the disc and it will cost me 30 quid for a new!
    Is anyone able to give me any help
    Thank you
    Hello
    If I understand your message, you are not able to recover the laptop using the Toshiba disc. Is this good?
    Well, in your case I recommend to start from another original Windows XP CD bootable disc or Vista DVD or a Linux drive to test if the CD/DVD drive can handle this drive.
    In this case, you can test if your CD/DVD drive is faulty or if the problem is related to the Toshiba DVD recovery.
    Welcome them
  • Cannot find the boot disk
    End 2012 17 "iMac with 1.12 GB Drive El Capitan Fusion running.  When I turn on the iMac, I get a black screen with white text that tells me to insert the bootable disc.  If I press the Option key while powering and I select the Macintosh computer hard drive starts very well.  Any ideas what is happening or what I need to do to solve the problem?
    Sounds like something crashed. See if you can boot to the recovery (command-R on startup) Partition and select disk utility and then run First aid. If you cannot start the recovery partition, chances are that the player broke down.
