Implementation of contribute on a Machine to Test Local

I've just set up contribute on a mac OS / X system and kept getting messages:

contribute can not connect to the site and contribute cannot verify your login information

My problem when setting up a connection whenever I tried to use localhost as the url of the site contribute could not find the site. Well, after browsing the site after site looking for a solution, I finally found the problem. My MAC is on DirecWay and use a web proxy. Then, I finally realized that if I went into my network settings and put 127.0.0.1 in the field of proxy bypass - everything worked!

I just wanted to post this so the next SAP like me might be able to fix this on their machine without searching the web for hours.

  • problems of testing locally after migration DWCS3 to DWCS5.5

Back story is: the suggestion (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/439283) of the excellent Mr. Powers, I got my "lost" sites by importing the registry HKEY to my new machine. All good and well, all of a sudden my new PC with its new DWCS5.5 is filled with all my old sites! (I had to re - enter the names of remote user and PW, but, no problem).

The problem isthat now, while tests on my local server, the links are broken (404) - whereas before, on the old test, local server was fine.
New Server installation as old - for example C:\xampp\htdocs\thesite.

Hover over a link & address bar says "localhost/filename.php", where it should (and done on an old machine) read "localhost /sitenamefilename.php '. I can't seem to find a way to test locally (just when I thought that I had begun to grow as a web developer! lol)
In my opinion, this should be a simple matter of a well-trained site definition, but I'm stumped.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Very well. Was a simple mistake to use deployment (links look like "/ link /") include rather than Local testing (links look like "... / link /") include file. I knew that I was overlooking something stupid.

  • How can I move virtual machines from a local data store for a new iSCSI SAN?

Alternatively, you can use VMware converter or cold Migration / Storage VMotion if you have the appropriate licenses.

  • Test Local PHP Server works not!

    Hi guys,.

I just set up my server to test local PHP, even if its does not work properly! If you could help that would be so wonderful!

    Here are my current settings:

    The local Site folder: C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\

    Web URL: http://localhost/valsoo/

    Folder on the server: C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\

    Local/network

    Server model: PHP MySQL

I'm testing the "local testing server" with a file called site_check.php, who works at the root of the folder of the Site Local (C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\site_check.php), but does not work when the file is within records (C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\lesson01). Not all the files of work either at the root. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    Thank you very much!

    Brentis wrote:

I deleted the C:/htdocs, but it changed nothing.

That does not surprise me. If you have difficulty with the files could not be found, simply remove a folder will not help. You might have deleted the record sought by the browser.

Assuming that XAMPP is installed, make sure that Apache is running and then type http://localhost in the address bar of browser to load the XAMPP admin page. Click on the link of the phpinfo() function in the left navigation sidebar and find the value of DOCUMENT_ROOT in the section Apache environment.

Once you know the correct location for DOCUMENT_ROOT, you should be able to put your files in a subfolder of the DOCUMENT_ROOT folder and define your test server correctly in Dreamweaver.

  • With the help of modern.ie of Virtual Machines to test the App

I'm developing a freeware desktop application and test on older versions of Windows. Terms of the license modern.ie declare the following

    1. You can use the software for testing only. You can use the software for commercial purposes. You can use the software in an operational environment.

Although the site is intended for testing of web sites on Internet Explorer, allows to test the desktop apps as well? The app does not interact with IE in some way, if that makes a difference.

Well, I am not a lawyer, but looks like you can use it for any test you want.  You could do this with your own virtual machine running an evaluation version of Windows also.  All these expire so you can't use them constantly, but you can always go back or download a new when it expires.

  • "ClamWin" free anti-virus works on Windows 7 Professional? I have a machine running test the RC.

ClamWin installed and scans. However: each element that he scanned was "access denied" by the operating system. What gives? I am reluctant to introduce a virus to see if it would be detected and deleted, because it could eventually mutate and get into nature. What is the best way to see if it works?

    Hello Scooter313,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

According to the website of ClamWin, it works on Windows 7.
    http://www.ClamWin.com/content/view/71/1/

On their Web site: ClamWin is an Free Antivirus for Microsoft Windows 7 / Vista / XP / Me / 2000 / 98 and Windows Server 2008 and 2003.

However, on the http://www.windows.com/compatibility site, it does not appear.

Microsoft also offers a free download called AntiVirus compatible with Windows 7

  • Copy of the data of the disk of the virtual machine on a Local disk is too slow

We have recently implemented vMware view.   We vSphere 5.5 and 5.2 and made Desktop visualization server.

We have SAN as HP 3Par and Esxi hosts are HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8

Now all trying to copy the data from the disk of the virtual machine disk of the local computer are too slow. But if we are writing data from Local disk on the disk of the virtual machine is normal. And copying data between the two virtual machine disk is also fast.

Thanks in advance for your help

    Dear all,

    Thanks for your help.

We have analyzed the issue in 360 degrees, and we also examined your entries. Finally, we found the problem. It was that a defective fiber link has been creating the problem.

We have recently implemented vMware and this flaw in fiber can also happened during this period. That's why we thought it may be because of vmware.

    Thanks again for your help

    Hello
I am writing from mobile muy wait you so the typos and strangeness...
    That's what I see:
-your host/laptop is connected via WiFi to your router. WiFi is usually a little more difficult to make it work, but it does not now matter now
-your "external" network (computer laptop/probably the router to wide band) are on the 192.168.0.X network
-your AD windows virtual machine is configured with two network adapters and the two using NAT, as the screenshot you provided.
-to the command ipconfig for the virtual machine, it shows that a single configured both network adapter, there probably a fixed IP address and this IP address is out of all the existing networks that you got
    * VM IP: 192.192.0.1/24
    * Real external Network:192.168.0.X/24
    * Host-only workstation: 192.168.72.X/24
    * NAT workstation: 192.168.161.X/24

With that IP to the VM must be impossible any form of communication with your host, with the exception of the RDP rule you put (and it is also conceptually wrong of course it works)

If you really want to put your VM with a fixed IP address in the NAT network, you must configure the virtual computer with an IP address of 192.168.161.3 - 192.168.161.127 (le.1 et.2 are used by the host/VMware workstation, and le.128 to la.254 are used by the dhcp range)

    Kind regards
    Luis

  • Clone the virtual machine to the local data store

    Hi all

I'm looking to automate a task daily (or almost) of my friends with a small script with powercli.

I'm trying to "backup" or to clone a virtual machine, I work in a storage of one of our servers.

The servers are managed by a 5.1 vCenter and the machine is on a shared storage.

From time to time, I clean, stop the machine, remove all snapshots and clone the virtual machine to one of the local server as a backup storage. So I put together a small script which almost works. It works as long as the target data store is a shared storage, but not with a local storage.

I get always an error that claims it can not access the local data store and is not a permissions problem...

Given that I can accomplish this via the customer without problem I thought it is possible via powercli too, or I'm wrong?

    My Script up to now:

    # Variables
    $VC = "vc.domain.com" #vCenter Server
    $User = "domain\user" #User
    $Pass = 'test123' #User PW

  • Size of the virtual machines on the local data store

What is the best way to determne the (total) disk space using a virtual machine? We have several virtual machines on local data warehouses and would like to estimate roughly how much disk space to the total number of virtual machines use to caculate how much storage SAN, they will consume. Is there an 'easy' way to socket this information?

The most accurate way would be to calculate the total space used by the virtual machine files in the data store.

    Connect to the service console

    Navigate to the vmfs volume

    Navigate to the vm folder

    -h.

This will give you files for this particular virtual machine related to the amount of disk space used by all the vm

I spend a few VMs storage local servers ESX 3.5 to local storage on another. The customer, I work with a Vcenter but doesn't have a Vmotion.

What would be the best way to carry out the removal.

    Cold migration?

Import to the new ESX Server via converter?

I tried to do an import with the virtual machine is turned off and after 30 minutes, the progress is only 5%. This server only took 25 minutes for P2V, cold import of VM VI3 to VI3 VM takes longer to P2V? It is a LAN Gigabit environment all.

When I tried to make the trip through the migrate, progress suspended at 25% and never finished.

Migration cold will work fine.  Stop the click Guest, just choose migrate.

  • virtual machine on a local computer

How can I use the existing model portable VM windows 2003 to deploy on a local computer by using the free version of vmware? When I tried to seal the existing flat vmdk file, gives me an error... is not a correct virtual disk.  any ideas.

A model is a function of vc.  You cannot use this on vmware server or workstation.  You you must convert a virtual machine, then use these files or, deploy a vm from the model and then use the files in a product that is hosted as a server or workstation.
