Import 3D After Effects CC PSD

Hi all!

First time poster here

So, I have a model 3ds file. I have it open in Photoshop and saved as a PSD. When I open the PSD, the layers there are textures, I can move it around 3 dimensions - all perfect.

But when I import this after effects CC and choose composition - keep the sizes of layer, he adds in a model with a folder that contains the single DSP. This time, when I choose the Rotate tool, it is now a flat image that I'm in the rotation. It is as if he has lost the game 3D image. Is it a problem in the economy of the PSD? Or maybe the way I am importing/viewing it in AE?

I'm running the latest CC of the two, and the 3ds at the beginning file has been exported through 3DS Max 2015.

Thank you very much
Mark

You cannot export directly to C4D. If you want that, export an OBJ and import into C4D Lite. A new C4D file can be created from menu layer in AE or the respective option in the project window.

  • Add new layers Photoshop file already imported into After Effects?

Hi... for a .psd with say 10 layers imported into After Effects I would add a layer 11. How to import this 11 layer in After Effects?

Sorry for the basic question, thank you!

    You can do this:

    1. go to file > import.

    2. Select the same PSD file you have already imported as a Composition.

    3. still in the import dialog box, select import as "Footage", not as "Composition".

    4. in the next dialog box, AE asking you if you want to import the PSD as 'merged layers"(not what you want) or if you want to choose a specific layer in the PSD (see image below). Choose this option and simply select the new layer. That's all.

  • Is it possible to import an After Effects animation in Edge animate for use of Muse?

Is it possible to import an After Effects animation in Edge animate? If this is not the case, how you can cut paths in edge animate?

If you need transparency, then png sequence is the way to go. If she didn't need transparency then jpg sequences are are a good choice. To really keep the file size down, you can also watch the GIF animations. Usually, I shoot jpg or png sequence in Photoshop and use the timeline to create the animated gif. If you want the full video experience then output a mp4 of EI and drop in animate it but disable controls if it's just an animation sequence. for the movement to animate: mp4, webm, and animated GIFs are the choices.

If you don't need to run a sequence of jpg or png of AE then use the tool of the region of interest in the model to cut the surplus. The output sequence, then drop a symbol to animate images.

  • Lines undulating AVI when imported into After Effects

The file I'm trying to use a video file that was created first by capturing video from a DV tape and rendered in Adobe Encoder as a compressed AVI. AVI looks very good until it is imported into After Effects.

    pic2.JPG

This is a good example of what the appearance of lines as the most notable are the lines near the net, the upper part of the net and the coast line up to now. This is actually a shot of the first, when this image is displayed (small size) here it's the same thing I see in After Effects. I guess that there is a problem in the settings when I create the AVI file and the configuration of the After Effects project. The problem is that I know almost nothing about After Effects and only a little more info on first. If someone could give me advice (that is entered as the best possible) as to what could be causing this and how can I correct, it would be fantasctic

The image below is a screen After Effect

    pic1.JPG

File--> interpretation of sequences--> hand. Hose off fields, if you want it display is sharper. Everything is perfectly normal. Compressed still images will expose artifacts and the color space conversion and various display modes between the programs make them more or less stand.

  • R3D files is no longer working or import into After Effects, after update.

Just updated to the latest After Effects go about 30 min. All my. R3D files went offline. I can import them isn't over either. They worked with all versions up to this update.

I reinstalled all the latest red codecs just to be sure. Can someone please check on that?

    Thank you

This bug is fixed in the update after effects CC 2015 (13.7.2): http://adobe.ly/1WaV0pP

This only bug fixes Update corrections occurred after effects CC 2015 (13.7.1) on Mac OS x files: RED (.r3d) can still be imported and are not reported as missing in existing projects.

This update is only for Mac OS X and is not available for Windows, because the bug with the RED files does not occur under Windows. The most recent update for After Effects on Windows is after effects CC 2015 (13.7.1).

  • How to reduce the size of the SWF to a file imported from After Effects

    Hello!

I'm doing a banner web for an internet marketing company, so he has very specific requirements. We did it in After Effects, and I was able to export it to an FLV file and import to Flash very well with the SWF file. Now, I need to make the significantly smaller SWF file.

At the moment it is 2.5 MB and we can only present a 40K SWF size. It is even possible to reduce the size so much and still keep intregrity of the animation?

I'm more familiar with Flash than After Effects, but he can play with the settings, etc. If someone can tell me what to try.

Thank you very much for your help!

is the flv almost 2.5 MB? If so, your only option to significantly reduce swf size is to load the FLV dynamically (which is not usually allowed with banner ads).

  • Stop on images will not import into After Effects

I created a still image in Premiere Pro, I've tried to "Replace with After Effects Composition year" in order to animate a little. However, for some reason, the image does not load in After Effects. I tried it with several other images, all that worked. AFAIK nothing has changed since these instances to it (be put aside, obviously, the fact that I use a different image).

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

    Thank you!

Temporal changes and frozen images of Premiere Pro are not AE. No more titles or transitions. It is a limitation, you must live with for now.

  • How to lengthen the compositions Ch imported into After Effects?

I move the long good enough learning Ae + HP, but now I've hit a really weird roadblock. Here goes:

I created a clip of a minute of the action puppet head in Ch, it exported and imported through the Script in Ae, but now its only 31 seconds...

The amount of images in the file Ch corresponds to what was the number of images of c... My project Ch and Ae are 12 fps so I don't think that should be a problem, and my Ae project is 1 minute... I'm so lost.

So I guess I ask two questions; 1. I do something that can cause a clip of Ch 1 minute 31 seconds once imported into Ae?

And 2. Is it possible to extend the Compositions? I just engineering audio where you can just copy a song file and add at the end of the first Ae but does not work this way.

Any help would be great appreciated, I feel that I have hit a brick wall with this...

Just ask if I could give any extra info, screenshots, I'm happy to do

I think I found the culprit! When I right click on the publication file and choose interpret footage, setting the frame rate assuming the rate set at 30 fps

After I changed it, I remove my composition and dragged the file Braxton in Compositions, it was the minute complete 1!

Thank you for spending time to help me KJerryK again, you have directed me in the right direction.

  • Imported into After Effects layers appear too dark compared to the Illustrator layers

I designed a website in illustrator and imported the aftereffects layers to animate, but the colors are much darker. Images, Composition and size of the maintaining layer give the same results.

  • Replace vector components imported in After effects CS4

    Hello

I imported a file vector layers illustrator in my composition, dragged the individual elements to the work area and apply transitions and effects. Now, I need to make some subtle changes to the original vector files and wonder the process of automatic update of these elements in the composition. Without having to re-enter the composition once again, this would be similar to a symbol to replace Flash.

    Thank you

Alt-drag from the respective project in the layer window in the timeline or use Ctrl + Alt +.<>

  • After Effects project showing Test cards

    Thus,.

Having enjoyed the workflow first import Adobe after effects comps & psds, I am disappointed by the support for the collection and archiving of project files.

It seems that when you retrieve a project (in Project Manager) for sharing, it ignores everything after effects files with their own assets... in my illustrations HAVE case.

Then, I collected the after-effects of the file upwards (in the files HAVE) and then linked to these alternatives in the first... Ok

Now when I try and creating archives project, After Effects compositions are in fact archived, but when you view them in Proemiere, each layer of 'image' of I, is replaced by an image of the target.

    testcards.png

However, when I opened that the after effects comp itself everything is connected without a problem...

How can I get the first to acknowledge that the .aep files are valid?

    Thank you

    Mike

    So, the answer was that...

After collecting the AE project, he was looking at all its assets ((sequences)) compared to itself.

However, when this project was linked in the first, the relative path (pictures) wasn't clear, as a local had become a level upwards.

So, I dragged the AE and (images) in the folder next to the project and relinked... then it assets is no problem!

Looks like, so that the assets in Adobe CC bond is a good idea, the complete workflow is not yet completely formed for archiving & sharing

  • How to import Adobe Illustrator to After Effects files?

    Hello

I had traced a file of animation in Adobe Illustrator with 8 layers, each representing an animation/drawing.

I tried to import to After Effects, but the drawing does not appear.

Someone tell me what I'm doing wrong; Why the drawings are not appear on the screen After Effects?

I did a video of it here:

Your drawing is black, and so is your background. Change the background color of model, or toggle the display of the transparency grid button...

  • Import from Illustrator to After Effects

    Hello

I can't import an Illustrator file into After Effects. The project of the Illustrator has seven layers. Import the file by selecting import into After Effects > name of file > import as composition by keeping the dimensions of the layer.

In the timeline panel, there are 7 Illustrator layers, however, all the things on the other layers seem to have moved to the top layer because it is the only layer that controls anything; opacity, position etc.

    Anyone know what is happening?

    See you soon

Your description sounds like not create you layers in Illustrator. You need to do.

You probably just have a layer of 1 of your Illustrator document. You create layers 2-7, moving things in each layer, and it is also good rename each layer with something that makes sense. Hardcore artists Illustrator blow that right away. In the case of a human body, they would be the eye right, where eye, head, torso, right arm, left arm, right foot, left foot. Just double-click on the name of the current layer and re - nominate away.

  • IMPROVE the BRUTE &. DNG WORKFLOW IN PREMIERE and AFTER EFFECTS

I am editor-in-Chief, and I work with raw. DNG files more over the past two years.

Image with the RAW settings controls are amazing off course.

But not the controls that Adobe provides to editing the .dng files. I find this workflow to be stoneaged, extremely devious and far from effective.

THESE ARE THE METHODS of EDITING I USE (September 2016, adobe cc 2015.3):

    (1) for editing the .dng files I must interpret my shots with the RAW importer in After Effects. Then export every time with these settings in the format Prores out of After Effects. That will become the images then in first. The render time is huge, place to three days of rendering time for some projects of greater that I worked.

    (2) a very intensively and your working time is as follows:

    • Import each shot like .dng in first (one-by-one, at the same time is not possible (adobe feature request).)

    • In order to be able to change with it, you can edit the RAW temperature, tint, and exposure settings (adobe feature request: integrate all the raw settings as you did with Lumetri).

    • Then there are several ways to do it, I do it like this: I put all the photos in a calendar on the same layer.

    • I have duplicate all the shots to the upper layer.

    • I select all the photos duplicated and then right click: ' replace with after composition effects.

    • You go to sequels and then ask the parameters for each individual shot raw. You set the parameters of all your shots. You will only be able to see the first image of the sequence, so if you are working with a Committee of action, you will only be able to see the first image. (adobe feature request: make it scrollable of sequences of images, so within the RAW screen importer I wish I could scroll through other images of this sequence)

    > > You can open another frame of the sequence of images just from the finder and then open with photoshop, the RAW importer screen will invite, adjust the settings and then export these settings. Then - later - you can load these settings in After Effects by right-clicking the sequence in the project window and choose "replace footage > > file" and then it will prompt you again with the RAW importer window). Pfff, so sneaky and ineffective all together. (adobe feature request)

    • When the settings for all plans are finished, you will find all the plans in a composition. BUT these layers will appear UNFORTUNATELY have been interpreted as images (image .dng) instead of sequences of images (photos/film .dng). (adobe feature request)

    • Up to now, you go the project window and you select the first shot, do a right-click: "replace sequences > > leader." Select the first file .dng and enter. The RAW importer appears again, thank God he reminded of the settings that you have applied to this .dng, os, you don't have to do it all over again.

    • You repeat this operation for all your shots.

    • Then in your timeline first you should have two layers with the same shots, the linked AE comp will be with the interpretations of right and the bottom layer with the original .dng files. You can enable or disable the layer on and outside, by providing a much faster workflow for editing. Type to have created a proxy system.

-But then a European problem can occur: If all the shots in the AE comp seem to be shorter then in your timeline in first you do this:

    • In After Effects, go first .dng sequence in your project window. Right click, choose "film > > main.

    • You can select the frame rate, set it to 25 if you are working with 25 images per image (to check in settings to create sequence) captures. (adobe feature request: use the same rate for this interpretation as first has done, or ask, and remember this choice)

    • THEN, SEVERAL HOURS LATER, depends on how much you have pictures, you can begin to find a way to edit first. You can nest the sequence in which the original dng sequences and the composition of linked EI are superimposed. If you do not have to edit with two videos and several audio blocks above the other.

For editing with the org .dng files, you can adjust the base temperature BRUTE, hue settings and exposure in first, so you can see what you're doing. For most RAW images are very dark without the RAW settings, so who can help when your first change in flow when the AE comp is off.

    • When you want to change the raw settings, you can go to sequels, open the project and then choose: "replace footage > > leader." Then importing RAW window again and you can make the change. It is now automatically charged also in first due comp system that you built.

For a film RED and ALEXA it's organized all much better...

    So now I ask Adobe:

WHY is WHY WHY like that?

Two years ago, it remains unchanged.

I am a very big ADOBE fan and faithful, programs and innovations are impressive. Lumetri is impressive. I hoped he would also modify the RAW data, but unfortunately it doesn't.

This lack of a good system of RAW editing really pushes me away Adobe right now. This isn't a professional workflow.

If several editors have the same types of problems, please reply to this post with your opinion.

Perhaps, it helps a little pushing Adobe to change this.

And if someone has a big piece of something I'm missing, please please enlighten me. I won't be arrogant kind.

I can't find the right answer to this workflow of the stone age, and I guess that most people will know it.

WHY is WHY WHY like that?

I'm not convinced that it is.

The only part of your post, I found valid is where clips must be imported one at a time. It's true, and Adobe certainly should to address the issue. But both, Blackmagic and other responsible camera must also decide, releasing updates of firmware that create the MXF files to hold the CinemaDNG RAW images, audio, time code metadata and in a single file. No records, no covering. A clip, a single file.

This is technically possible and it is the best option in all areas. For each Adobe feature request, so we need to request a Blackmagic as well. Two actually, because changing the way in which the cameras record is good the best option.

Other than this one problem, I don't see where everything you do is necessary. Lumetri now accesses the RAW data in images CinemaDNG, is not only an effect on top as fast color corrector.

Using the new feature of Proxy editing is done MUCH easier.

I see no need for the AE in the pipeline.
