import Bridge collections in Lightroom CC

I have a lot of collections of bridge and switch to Lightroom CC, I want they to be imported.

What is the right way to follow?

Hi bliks

Unfortunately, you cannot import collections of bridge because there is no way automated now, but you can assign a keyword for each collection so that you can easily reproduce in Lightroom. /

You can check Collections in Lightroom and Bridge: retouching Forum: Digital Photography Review and LR: how to import bridge collection - RAW, post processing & printing in photography-on - .net forums

  • How to import bridge labels in Lightroom 3.4

I have almost 500 000 images all carefully labeled in bridge.  They have color labels for: (red) second selection, (yellow), review, nothing (the labels of basic standard adobe created) custom.

After importing my entire collection in lightroom (27 hours) nothing remained of these labels.  Do this useless thing.

I can't imagine why two adobe products would not share by default like this or have I missed something obvious?

Does anyone know how to import the bridge labels in lightroom? (Keep in mind that I know nothing of lightroom so make baby steps)

    Thank you

"Even the stars of the bridge do not save in Lightroom...". »

    Yes, they do.

Let me make a little explanation how LR works, here:

Bridge and LR work differently, and it is important to understand this difference.

Bridge works as a file browser. Everything you put in a folder / or a road bridge will 'see' it (as long as it is tied to the image).

For example if you make a change of name for a picture file or folder in your OS, bridge has no harm to 'see' the modified file or folder.

LR works as a file browser. LR creates and works with a database called catalog. LR only "sees" an image file unless it is imported. Import means add it to the catalog. You can have any number of images on a disk / in a folder that LR doesn't "see" as long as they are not imported into LR.

This means that - in the case of a change in name of file or folder name that you do outside of LR (in bridge), for example - that LR cannot 'see' this folder / image file. LR still has this image / folder in the Catalog under its former name, and when she seeks, it can't find because the name has changed. LR flags then this file / folder as "missing". 'Missing' in this sense do not mean that the file / image is not on the disc; "missing" means that LR does not.

LR can also create, work with, and read the xmp files, also known as sidecar files. The XMP files are small files that contain some mnetadata, such as the camera settings, date & time, title, legend, etc. - but also to develop / modify metadata. When you use Camera Raw in Bridge and change the image, deck writes data in the xmp file. In addition, things like the star ratings and color labels are written to the xmp file.

These in LR, you will need to make LR read the xmp file. For this in the library Module will > metadata > read metadata from file.

But be careful here. When LR reads data from file which also means that everything that done you in LR (and have not saved in xmp), will be replaced when there is a conflict. For example, if you editing image in Bridge and end you image editing in LR (on the same image) and you then select 'Read metadata from a file', your changes-LR will be will be supplanted by bridge-changes.

To resolve this problem, you must make your image only editor LR. Also, it is recommended to save your changes of LR to xmp. Do you via Ctrl / Cmd + letter "S" or > metadata > save metadata to file. If you make this bridge can read and display your changes-LR.

  • Access previously imported photos out of Lightroom 4 and add them to the collection

    Hello-

This is probably a stupid question... I recently used my raw software and not Lightroom and import photos on my hard drive. now, I want to add these photos to a collection in Lightroom. I can't understand (to save my life) how in the World navigate photos in Lightroom 4, but the pictures that were already imported with other software. can anyone help? Thank you!

Here's the easiest way (in my opinion):

    * Select the files in the Explorer/Finder

    * drag on the grid of Lightroom (library).

review of import settings - make sure that "Add" is selected at the top of the import dialog box.

    * Click on "import".

I searched for an hour, but I'm trying to find the answer to what I think is a simple question: How do I share a collection of Lightroom CC between to my MacBook?

I keep one at home and one for on the go. Sometimes I want to work on an image that I started on one computer to the other computer.  Both are signed in the creative cloud.

    Hi sbiddo,

The best way is to keep your Lightroom catalog on a hard drive portable external.

  • Sharing of Collections with Lightroom

    Hi all

Use Lightroom for some time, I am completely new to Adobe Creative Cloud. I just edited a lot of pictures of holiday (RAW files) in Lightroom. I exported these and place them in folders on an external hard drive (in JPEG format) and I want to share with family and friends. In the past, I would have just downloaded to the drop from the external hard drive box and sent a link. I created a holiday collection in Lightroom and synced with my cell phone, however, because these are RAW photos yet they take too long to load for each photo. I think I should create a collection of JPEG in Lightroom so that I can sync the photos and they will load faster. I don't know what to do - I just wish I could easily share photos. Can you please help - I am struggling a little. Thank you!

When you mark a collection for sync, previews smart are automatically created using infrastructure Cloud creative and driven to LR Mobile on your tablet or phone. These are already reduced size compared to that of the original raw file. The initial synchronization time will depend on your internet connection. Smart insights also automatically appear in your space Web of Lightroom and you can also mark a collection to the public and simply sharing a link.

  • import of openness to lightroom versions

I'm about to import my Aperture library in Lightroom. I read messages and watch videos YouTube, but all have dates, so I don't know how to update some are.

My big question is Lightroom recognizes now versions, adjustments, TIFF, etc. of Aperture?

If this is not the case, is there good instructions for a work around or import? I don't want to lose thousands of changes.

And, I have to install the Aperture import module? I have trouble finding, so I wonder if it is part of the latest version of Lightroom.

Aperture has a good video of the procedure to follow for the transfer, or is there a recommended video YouTube?

    Thank you!

    Hi Roger,

Opening import plugin is incorporated into Lightroom 5 update.

And it doesn't matter of changes of opening
