  • GPIB-USB-HS Windows Server 2003 driver available?

I tried to install the GPIB-USB-HS device on our system of Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard 32 - Bit (German) with the last driver NI488.2 3.0 package.

But the driver seems to be evil. After restarting Windows comes up with an error and event poster of the errors of several Viewer too:

-The "nipxirmk" service failed to start due to the following error: the specified driver is invalid

I think that the latest package isn't compatible Win Server 2003 but that it is announced at ni.com.

Is it possible to install GPIB-USB-HS on a Win 2003 Server machine?

    Thanks for your help

    Kalize

Windows Server 2003 32-bit R2 enables PAE by default ("physical address Extension") mode for addressing memory above the 4 GB limit.  National Instruments supports this operating system, it does not address memory above the 4 GB limit by using EAP setting and many pilots OR will fail to load if this setting is enabled.  (Note that your computer may intuitively put some of your memory above the 4 GB limit, even if you only have 4 GB of RAM).

On Windows Server 2003, you can disable the EAP or prevent Windows to use addresses beyond 4 GB, which allows loading the drivers EITHER.  Please see KB 54D9I6M6: OR software failure when PAE (physical address Extension) is activated on Windows operat... for more information.

  • Impossible to attach Windows 10 laptop computer to the Internet via cable USB iPhone 5 c after update to iTunes and iPhone (March 2016)

    System information:

    Tactile Lenovo Y50-70

Construction of 10.0.10586 of Windows 10-10586

    iPhone 5 c - iOS 9.2.1

    iTunes - 12.3.2.35 / 64-bit

    Cell carrier: Etisalat AF

Last year in Afghanistan, I have used my iPhone 5 c to attach my laptop to the internet simply by connecting via USB.  It has always worked.  Was very simple.  When I returned to the States for R & R in November 2015, I've updated my iPhone and iTunes to the latest versions and upgrades Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

I am now back in Afghanistan and USB tethering no longer works.  WiFi tethering works half the time.  The other half of the time, when I try and connect to the network of the iPhone, it is said, you cannot connect to this network.  When I can't connect to the phone, I disable the personal hotspot, WiFi and Bluetooth on the phone and then I turn it back on.  I also turn off my WiFi adapter on my laptop and turn it back on.  Which usually solves the problem and then I can connect via WiFi.

Do some research on the internet, I read that there was a file corrupted when the current generation of iTunes, but Apple had set and you just need to reinstall the current version, which I did.  I have reinstalled iTunes by suggestions from different site.  After reinstalling iTunes and restart, I can always have my phone to connect to internet via the USB cable.

I want to be able to connect my laptop to the internet using my phone via the USB cable.  I want it all works just as it did previously.  Connection via WiFi is a pain in the ass, because it does not work half the time and disconnects on a regular basis.

Please tell us what should I do to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

OK, I finally understand how to solve this problem.

I was able to understand because of this post:

    https://discussions.Apple.com/message/29267225#29267225

The problem is that Windows 10 was not install appropriate drivers for my iPhone.

You can see 2 places to see.  We're in the control panel.  After you plug in your iPhone, the iPhone will be displayed and highlighted as not having is not a compatible driver.  The other place is in "Devices and printers", there you will see 3 apple devices: 1 Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, iPhone 2, and 3. Apple iPhone.  All three appear when I plugged in my iPhone.

However, the problem was one that said iPhone really should have said "Apple Mobile Device Ethernet".

    So, how to fix this?

Open devices and printers-> right click Iphone which should be under "Unscpecified"-> properties-> hardware-> Propterties tab-> change settings-> tab driver-> update driver-> Browse my computer for software Local-> Browse to the directory "C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support".

Make sure you have the files box to include under verified.

Who did.  Windows successfully installed the necessary drivers.  Now, I can easily connect to the internet via the USB cable again without any problems.

  • Not truly Plug & Play with the generated for custom USB device .inf file

    Hello

We have developed an application that uses the library OR-VISA-in order to communicate with our USB device via RAW communication.

This is why we created an *.inf file using the driver Wizard. Once we plug-in the device for the first time, windows enumerates the device successfully and the 'Found new hardware' pop-up - window.

We chose the .inf file that is created, and the device is properly installed.

Our problem occurs when we plug one another device of the same type but with a different Serial-ID (which means that same VID, PID, only the ID for the USB - stick is different).

For all devices with a Serial-ID, which has not been connected to windows, and yet, the "found new hardware" - window opens again so that you HAVE to choose the installation procedure. Despite the fact that the driver for this type of device was already installed, windows does not affect our driver .inf file to the device.

If we chose, then in the "Found new hardware" procedure - the "Automatic Setup" window - the device is installed and can be used successfully.

Of course, windows recognizes the right driver but does not automatically assign it without pop-up windows. We want to avoid the pop-up reapeating for each device.

I did some research on this subject, and now I guess the problem is that the generated .inf file has no signature.

Does anyone have experiences on this subject? Am I wrong? Does anyone have or had the same problem?

All solutions next assign the same ID series for all devices?

Here some quote the file setupapi.log (which seems to confirm my hypothesis):

    Hi Philip,

Thanks a lot to post your question. I talked to our specialists in the United States on the signing of your created driver. You will find a brief description in the Readme of NI-VISA:

    "WHQL signature hardware USB.

WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) sign your USB hardware using the driver NI-VISA for Windows XP / 2000, as part of this process it takes a PDB (program database) file to the underlying driver (NiViUsbK.sys).

NiViUsbK.pdb is provided for this purpose. It is in \WinNT\NIvisa\USB. This is usually C:\VXIPNP\WinNT\NIvisa\USB. »

To get it done, you must contact Microsoft. We are not allowed / able to sign your driver for you.

Perhaps, the following link helps you: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/winlogo/wlk/default.mspx

  • If Windows will send a message when she install the driver for a USB device successfully or unsuccessfully?

As you know, the window search and install the driver for a new device (USB) coming. We can get the status of the device through Device Manager manually. but I was blocked by the following questions when trying to obtain programmatically.

Is it possible for me to get the driver installation progress window? Or how could I get the event that she has finished the installation and the result (install has failed or succeeded)?

    Best regards

    -Alvin Hu

Vista does not send these messages and cannot be configured to do this (progress or when it is done or if it succeeded or failed).  The only way to make sure is to plug and then, go to start / Control Panel / Device Manager and check for the device and click on it for more information on its status.  You can also check if the appliance does not work - it's probably faster and more accurate.  Many USB devices indicate their status by starting to work (a mouse begins to scroll, a USB flash drive or an external USB drive to bring the Autorun screen or appear in the Windows Explorer,...) and USB devices tend to start working quickly enough so it should not be a long wait.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Windows 7 cannot install the drivers for my USB devices.

Whenever I have connect my USB devices, windows is now impossible to install the unit. It shows the driver installation icon in the notification area and finally said failed. Devices are displayed in Device Manager with an exclamation mark in it. When I try to manually install the driver, it gives a prompt with error message "Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it." . The system cannot find the specified file. No idea why?

  • No Notification sound when the connection/disconnection of USB device

    Hello

I am running Windows 7 on a separate partition on a 2011 MacBook Pro (installed via Boot Camp).

This laptop has two USB ports on the left side.

If I connect/disconnect a USB device to the port more back, I get the notification sound as usual.

However, if I log out these same devices to the port further there is no notification even if the devices are recognized & seem to work fine.

Can anyone tell how to enable notification of this port please?

    John,

    Thank you for your response.

The sound scheme has already been set to "Windows default", but just for good measure, I changed it but it made no difference.

As mentioned be notified when you use one of the ports USB, but not the other.

I posted this in an Apple forum & other users of this machine & installation are reporting the issue even if it seems to be a generic hardware problem & not just something on my own system.

    See you soon.

  • How to transfer pictures from the phone to the computer via a USB cable?

I just bought a Tundra VA76r and universal mini-USB cable at a local store AT & T. I downloaded the "v3.9.0 USB driver for Windows 32-bit" on the Motorola support site, I have Windows XP SP2 on my desktop Dell. The driver is described as follows:

This USB driver is used for connecting your Mobile from Motorola phone to a Windows® computer via a USB cable to charge your phone or to access the data on your phone. This USB driver supports most Motorola OS, Linux OS, Motorola, Motorola iDEN, Motorola Symbian/UIQ, Motorola Windows Mobile® and i-mode of Motorola phones.

I installed the driver and the load function works. My phone USB connection type is MODEM. However, I am not able to "access the data on my phone" as promised in the description of the driver. The phone is not recognized in Windows Explorer. All I want to do is to transfer pictures from the phone to my computer. The price for Motorola Phone Tools ($50) seem expensive for such a simple task. An adapter for my desktop computer bluetooth is also in this price range. The tundra is incompatible with the feature of this driver? I'm doing something wrong with the installation of the phone? Please help me to get the driver to work... Thank you

Best way to do this is to configure your phone USB setting of "memory card".  Go to Menu-settings-connections-settings USB online online online, select the memory card.

Once this is done, connect the phone to the computer, phone will be recognized as a removable disk. Go to my computer.  Under devices you'll see removable drive F or G depending on your drives (can show two if you have a card as well.  Memory card is usually the drive at the top of the page.  The phone memory is lower by car).

Click on the drive (IE. F, mobile - if memory card).  Here you will see audio, music, photo, etc.  Once here, you can get, drag and drop a file on your computer.  Make sure that you create one or more folders for your files on your computer.

The same also applies if the transfer of files from your computer to your phone.

I find that this method is better than to sync the phone.

I hope it will work for you.  Let me know if it doesn't.
