  Hi people! I hope that someone can help you.  All of a sudden, I get an error message odd when I import into lightroom 4.  "File could not be copied to the backup location.  I can click OK and continue to work as usual. I see my pictures, everything seems ok. When I export, backup works fine without error message.  I get nervous on error messages in LR.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

  You have the option checked to create a backup copy of the images imported in the import dialog window? If you verify that your username has write permissions to the folded selected as a backup location.

  Or just uncheck that option and test.

  Our team of engineers working on a fix for this problem. Until then, please use this workaround:

  Enable the option "Show import dialogue before you import" during synchronization of folders, and then select the subfolders to synchronize subfolders menu in the import dialog box.

• Never seen an import error message...

  A new to me.  I am trying to import some 4:3 SD video I took several years ago in my HD project.  Short 8-10 second B-roll clips.  I get this error message:

  

  The original video clip is a clip .avi so I backed up and then converted a .mpg2 clip copying.  Always without success.

  I did a search and found info about the size in pixels.  Here are the clips of 640 X 480.  How could they be too big?

  I just installed Illustrator CS4 twice and still get this error. I'm under the it on a Dell with Windows XP SP3 745.

  When I open Illustrator I get the following error message

  tried to google, but can not see someone else having the same problem.

  Well, it hangs on menu police update, according to the start screen. ERGO, the most likely reason is that you have a 'bad' font on your system. Remove it and HAVE to be launched. And before ask you: Yes, remove all the fonts that are not system fonts. You can add them back step by step, later to find out who we caused the problem exactly.

  What format is the file saved Excel in? Is it just a comma-delimited file or you use several sheets and macros in Excel model? We need a little more information.

  Start over from scratch. See...

  Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

  Simply connect your external drive to your computer will redirect the import of files from the CD.  You don't always have enough space on your internal drive - at least that's what seems to be the case of the incomplete information provided.

  Full error messages are needed to accurately diagnose problems.

  There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space.  The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive.   You can move the data to your external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you.  Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on the external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions. You can also move your iTunes folder there (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364)

  • You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
  • You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
  • You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
  • You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
  • You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
  • You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)

  But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

  In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive.  If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location.  You can not simply move the files.

  Try using the free utility WMVIndexer . It is towards the bottom of the page in the given the download link.

  The utility should be easy to follow. It will add indexes to the .wmv clip to allow quick advance and rewind indexing so that WMM can then use in the edition.

  Convert the file to WMA format should solve
