import of large pdf files (size 250 MB +)

Hello

We try to open (import) in photoshop CS 6 (64-bit) large pdf file size > 250 MB and it shows error "out of memory".

We can open PDFs with 247 MB in size, but it cannot open PDFs with size of 270 MB or more

the memory allocated to photoshop is 14 GB

Thank you

What is a pdf of a page?

Could you provide the file for the test or is confidential?

Anyway, why do you open in Photoshop? This will degrade if it is on the images in the pdf file that those could probably be opened individually and vector content.

    If you mean Adobe Reader 10.1.5 (you tell what you have) then you can't. This would require the full version of Acrobat.

    Hi vickyb,.

    Reducing the size of PDF file requires Acrobat (one way is by choosing File > save as > PDF of reduced size). If you do not have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

  • PDF file size

    I have a HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z (network) that I use at home to scan to a PDF file, and I know exactly how to move the cursor from the 'Smaller' in 'best quality '.

    However, the size of PDF files are far too large when the picture quality is acceptable, and if I move the cursor to reduce the size of the image would become unacceptable.  It is impossible to scan a legal document of more than a few readable pages without producing a volume of file too large for email.  I have to divide these scanned documents into pieces of 3-4 page.

    A simple disclosure form HOA, to 220 DPI and the cursor in the middle of balance, a page produces a PDF 699ko.  I used the other scanners printer to work (different brands) to the same 200 DPI which translates documents very clear less than 100 K per page.

    In my view, that there is something wrong with the algorithm of scan-to-PDF of HP.  The problem must be due to a qualified (or defective) software design.  That you need HP or third-party developer (and developer staff supervision) take this seriously - compare HP vs other scanners brand PDF files - and update the drivers from HP for this problem?

    Thanks for the reply.  My problem was scanning and sending 10 or more pages of legal documents, that came out of the scanner to approximately 700 KB per page with the last parameters of previous compromise.  The 10-page document has been an unacceptable 7Mo.

    However, after posting the problem I went on a process of trial and error throrough with 200 vs 300 dpi, 0 to 100% increments of cursor, and p.c. / color / gray.  I got an acceptable 200 KB per page by using the grayscale 200 dpi and weight 90% - 10% for smaller size.  I have my paper of 10 pages to an acceptable 2 MB.

    But I have always problems with contracts of 30-50 page where each page must be initialled by four parties, scanning and return back several times.

    Kind regards.

  • Documents scanned on more than 8600 are recorded in the form of very large pdf files

    HP Officejet pro 8600 more all-in-one.

    OS Vista Home Premium 32 bit

    . The PDF files created by scanner are 10 times larger than files created by my previous all-in-one to the same DPI setting.

    How can we reduce the size of the file.

    Open the 8600 Officejet Analyzer and select the Advanced Settings.

    • Select from the file tab, then look where it says file size / quality and move the slider to your needs.

    Then click on the OK button to go back to windows to scan and analyze your PDF files.

  • Final draft of 9 to PDF - file size problem

    I'm having a problem with file size create a PDF of the Final draft of 9. The file size is normally 300KB or more - but the file underway, more than any, I've done before, will only record to 29 MB - MUCH too large to email. Any ideas? I don't want to compress or use a service file - sharing project final normally saves a size easily, then I would understand this.

  • Large pdf file - search/convert

    I have a large PDF (593 MB) file that I need to convert to Word format so I can get it. Is it possible to automatically break it up so it can be converted? You can also / preference, it is not currently available. How can I do so?

    Hi Chris O'Meara,

    If it is a scanned document, you then run OCR on the file using the Adobe Acrobat software.

    If you have Acrobat, you can reduce the file size by choosing "file > save as other > reduced size PDF" and then export the file in word format.

    There is no way to break the file automatically. You can reduce the size of the file or split the file into two using tool "Arrange Pages".

    Let me know if you need more assistance.

    Kind regards

  • Printing more than one page in a single PDF file size

    Hi there, some background everything first: I have a Mac with Mac OS 10.9.5, and I am trying to print from Adobe Reader v11.0.10 PDF files that contains pages with various page formats (some pages are letter, other legal size) in the same document. I have a printer Brother Laser (HL-6180DW) which has several trays and a tray for each paper size.

    The printer can automatically can print documents containing multiple pages with different paper sizes for the for the paper tray right when I use Microsoft Word to print. However, if I have a PDF file and you try to print from Adobe Reader, all pages come out like 8 x 11. I selected the option in the reader print dialog that says "Paper Source to choose the PDF page size" but this does not seem to make a difference. However this same document on a windows 8.1 uses the same version of Adobe Reader and print to the same printer, prints the document with the different paper sizes automatically if I select this option to print. I tried this same test with 3 or 4 different PDF files from different sources, and the results are always the same - works on the PC, does not work on Mac. Would appreciate any ideas on how to make this work the Mac.

  • How to 'Place in the linked file' (not 'import') a multipage PDF file on a single work plan?

    ILLUSTRATOR CS4

    Hello

    I often use import it the Carlos Santo multiPDF script and it works fine.

    But I sometimes customers multipage PDF files with text and the fonts are embedded so rarely.

    As you may know, the solution for this font "vectorized" even if you don't have it in your font collection is to place your pdf as a linked file (menu file-> Place with the "link" box checked) in an open document (or drag and drop the it) and then via the object Menu-> flatten transparency , I check the "Embed text" did.

    So to automate it with a multipage PDF and inspired by the script of Carlos, I tried this:

    /////////////////////////////////////////////////

    var doc = app.activeDocument;

    app.userInteractionLevel = UserInteractionLevel.DONTDISPLAYALERTS;

    var pdfOptions = app.preferences.PDFFileOptions;

    firstPage var = 1;

    var lastPage = 10;

    pdfFile = File.openDialog ("open multiple PDF pages", "*.pdf", false);

    for (i = firstPage; i < lastPage; i ++)

    {

    pdfOptions.pageToOpen = i;

    var thisPlacedItem = doc.placedItems.add ();

    thisPlacedItem.file = pdfFile;

    };

    /////////////////////////////////////////////////

    It does not work! I find myself with 10 placedItems the number of page 1 of the pdf file. Maybe the pageToOpen option only works when I use the Open method? Actually no, because if I run the application only the 2 following lines and then I drag and drop the pdf file, the specified page (page 8 of the example) is well placed.

    //////////////////

    var pdfOptions = app.preferences.PDFFileOptions;

    pdfOptions.pageToOpen = 8;

    /////////////////

    I don't know how to fix. I have 2 solutions, but it only makes "semi automatic":

    -Create a dialog box palette with a button that increases successively the pageToOpen option and then make drag and drop my file once for all pages (easy)

    -Without the palette and the button, but with a listener of events with a function that increases the value of pageToOpen whenever I have do drag and drop a new file (perhaps by listening to the evolution of document.placedItems.length), but is it possible?

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you very much for your help!

    I find myself with 10 placedItems the number of page 1 of the pdf file. Maybe the pageToOpenoption doesn't work when I use the Open method?

    I had the same problem, my first option was to place the pdf pages, I couldn't make it work I therefore had no choice but to open the file instead.

    go with your first option, besides you drag Actions may place the right page, based on the property of pageToOpen ... so there is hope, record an Action to place your pdf and...

    1. run your script to increase the property of pageToOpen

    2. play your action

    3. Repeat this process for each page

    actions can also run scripts, then you can do it too.

    If you had CS6, it would be easier, CS6 can play shares with Javascript

  • I need to reduce PDF file size

    The size of my PDF files are great to email

    You can reduce the size of PDF using Acrobat files.

    However, the sending of electronic documents as attachments to email is never a good idea; they can get lost, badly routed or damaged.  And of course, there is the size limit.

    Much better to use a service (Adobe Cloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive,...) file sharing, then send the download shared by e-mail link.

  • Extract specific pages of a large pdf file based on a search term

    I have a very large pdf which is about 450 pages.  I want to put a search term that appears in about 60 pages of this document.  Then I would create a separate pdf document that these 60 pages (ie: I'm trying to filter down so that the pages I'm interested in).  I use Adobe Standard X and does not know how to do this.  In fact, I can't even understand how to extract pages outside a specific range IE: if I see that the pages I want are 1,4,7,9,11,14,16 etc I do not understand how to put manually in a separate pdf file.  Any help would be appreciated.

    It's here. He left the individual pages, but you can easily remove them manually. The new document is saved with the same name as the document with the addition of a prefix '_searched '.

    sd.extractPages ({start: i, nEnd: i, cPath: fp});

    Look no further this page

    Combine the individual pages in a single PDF

    If {(fpa.length)

    Open the document that is the first page of extracted

    Add all the other pages that have been extracted

    Save to a new document and close it

  • [js - CS4] How do I know a PDF file size

    Hi all!

    I export a PDF document and let me know the file size of the generated document.

    How can I do?

    Thank you

    Ivan

    Of course, I was wrong:

    As Marijan just tell me:

    File.Length
    Data type: number
    The core JavaScript classes
    The size of the file in bytes.
    Can be set for a file that is not open, in which case it truncates the keys or the file with 0 bytes to the new length.
