  Hey guys,.

  So I tried to import some ~ 8 GB of photos on my mac, but the Photos app gives me the following message: "there isn't enough free space on the volume of your library to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least X.XX GB of additional free space. »

  Where X.XX represents the amount of GB it says that I need but it changes everytime that I reopen the application to attempt an import.

  My mac has currently 44.4 GB so I don't know why this issue is coming.

  Any help would be great!

  Where is your library?  If it's on an external HD and how the drive is formatted?

  Have you tried to repair the library according to this document from Apple: library of your repair?

  What version of PHotos do you use?

  Of the very basic knowledge on Adobe products please bare with me! We have deployed v8 Adobe Captivate our users to test and when they try to take a PPTX file and turn it into an interactive e-learning courses, it fails with the message:

  "Cannot import the selected file. Refer to the documentation to ensure that you have installed the correct version of microsoft office.

  We have the SP2 of Microsoft Office 2010 (x 86) installed Adobe Captivate 8 before us. We tested and this works if the user uses a PPT file (2003 / 2007 Compatible file) which is a workaround but isn't ideal because they then lose the functionality of 2010!

  Anyone can confirm that Captivate 8 supports Office 2010, or this is exactly why we have this problem?

  V9 does support Office 2010 if this is the case, as if a patch is not solve this problem, then we recommend the customer to go to the product V9. One thing is that we use 32-bit with 64-bit Captivate Office but the fact that it works with legacy PPT I doubt it is the origin of the problem.

  As far as I saw, 9 Captivate does not handle this better than 8 Captivate.  But you can check it out yourself by downloading and installing the Cp9 trial version and see if that will import your PPTX.

  A few other suggestions for you:

  • Make sure you run Captivate (regardless of version) using the command run as administrator.
  • Also set PowerPoint to be launched using run as administrator.
  • Don't try to import a huge PPT or PPTX.  Do your tests on something small, say 10 or 20 slides.  This will alleviate the question if you really do turn into is a matter of PC resources.
  • Test with PPTs very sober.  Captivate imports can stumble on some objects incorporated into the PPT Slides.  So just having pictures, text, and anything else in your PPT test.

  When it is over an unselected path or shape (as in, something that you can select if you click right here), it shows a black box. When you're not selected anchor, it shows a white box.

• Import: "the selected folder is not writable.

  MacPro non-retine mid-2012 last El Capitan / iOS iPhone 5 9.2.1

  Tried with iPhone connected by USB import Photo 80 photos and 2 videos but get "the selected folder is not writable" - see attached screenshot.

  Just reinstalled OS X. PhotoLibrary is located in the Shared folder, the user has full read-write permissions. Any ideas, please?

  I think that with a db-link you can define an automated task (PL/SQL + programmer).
  We use a db-link to Oracle's RDBMS to MySQL. So we have no experience.

• TB & Outlook on XP but TB fails to import the Outlook. Get the... .default customer... message. What's next?

  I have TB and Outlook on the same PC running XP. Tried to import the selected TB mail and Outlook, but I get... the... client default e-mail message. TB is a folder to import but its empty. Checked and Outlook is set as the default client.

  Thunderbird application Outlook nicely for your mail and on a basis of piece by piece Outlook puts it. No path. no conversion for Thunderbird. Thunderbird has no idea what a PST file is. I do it, it is a format of data owner belonging to Microsoft corporation. All Thunderbird knows is to ask outlook program.

• The image placed in illustrator is the right size, even if the original was resized in photoshop

  Hi when I resize an image in photoshop and then "place" in illustrator 'placed' image is way smaller in illustrator than photoshop.

  To give an example, I just created a canvas photoshop 900px x 900px with a resolution of 300ppi and filled with red color. Then, I saved this image to JPEG to jpeg format had a dimension of 900px x 900px.

  Then I open an illustrator document format to 900px x 900px at 300 PPI and 'placed' red jpeg I created in illustrator into photoshop.

  Now, I expect the "put" jpeg in order to cover the entire artboard in illustrator because the jpeg format is 900px x 900px and so is the artboard. However what is really happening is the image "set" is displayed, but is more than four times smaller in illustrator! In itself, this isn't a problem, but then when I scale up the size I want for example 900px x 900px, resolution begins to decrease and radically!

  How can I fix this I want to be the size of a photo and "place" in illustartor to the appropriate size and 300 DPI so I can print it!

  Ah, now I know what you mean.

  Illy basically works points, 1 point = 1/72 of an inch, and the pixel of the camera (you can choose instead of points, inches, etc.) has the same value, 1/72nd of an inch. This ambiguity is part of the difficulty to understand all this.

  I chose an image which is 3508px x 2631px and 300 ppi.

  An image that is 3508px x 2631px is just that: it comes to the size of the pixels, which means that it is made of 3508 x 2631 = 9 229 548 pixels (small squares), each of which can have its own color, no more, no less.

  This image can be represented in any size in any application, and the size will determine its resolution in PPI (Pixels Per Inch). If you divide the size of 300 to get a resolution of 300 DPI, you will get 11.693 x 8.77 inches = 841.92 631,44 points/pixels x (included in the unit 1/72nd of an inch).

  This means if you want that image to display a resolution of at least 300 PPI you get more 11.693 x 8.77 inches = 841.92 x 631,44 points/pixels (pixels as units to Illy).

  If you wish to zoom at 300 DPI, you start with a great and original image.

  An image setting up a work plan of 900 x 900 points/pixels = 12.5 x 12.5 inches at 300 PPI will be 3750 x 3750 pixel (300 * 12.5 = 3750).

  Are you sure it's the real size of the red square, you did in Photoshop? If so, I have no idea why it shows the way for it to Illy.

  When you export to JPEG, you can set a resolution, but you can also just save it to a real pixel (as in Save for Web & devices) for example size 900 x 900 pixels. Maybe it's when things go wrong.

  I ran into a problem that I think already has a solution. I have a layout with 7 work plans, each a variation on a design logo. I want to choose a specific color, but only in the active work plan. The wand seems to be the right choice, but I see no way to specify this. All the efforts that I do, the color is selected in each work plan there. I know that select all can limit its scope to the active artboard by adding the option to the command key, but see no equivalent for the magic wand. Did I miss something or Illustrator lack the ability?

  Use blocking or hide to make a selection.

  1. Draw a box around the elements on an artbaord
  2. Select > Inverse
  3. Object > Lock
  4. (use your magic wand and that your changes)
  5. Object unlock everything

• Are the selected items are highlighted on the artboard in CS4

  I have a file where, all of a sudden, the selected objects are are highlighted on the chart/canvas Board. If I click on an object with the selection tools or drag the lasso tool, they show as being selected in the palette layers and pallets of appearance and stroke of the object and/or fill colors are displayed in the tool palette, but in the artboard, no indication if anything selected.

  I must have clicked something to cause it. My other Illustrator files do not have this problem. TIA.

  Try typing "control h" that toggles to hide the edges and Show Edges.

• Change the name of the file of "Import.xls" selection in Applescript

  Hi, I'm a tiger, but I try to change the name of a file in a folder (which can be any name that is) a name known.  In the end, just trying to import a file known to filemaker and need the name to be a known name.  That's what I have so far, but I have simply not success.  This goes to the folder 2 window and selects the first file... no problem, but, I can't seem to change the name of 'import.xls '.  Only excel files will be present in this folder, so I'm not worried about it.

  The other thing I would do is if there is no file in this folder to jump above everything and do nothing.

• Illustrator CC: Preferences: how to turn the selection to the current layer only

  Hey there,

  I come from a middle of Gimp for image manipulation and a useful feature, it was, that you can only select an object that was on your currently selected layer. This makes it easier to choose specific objects in your project or select-all on a single layer. I'm new to Illustrator and the default setting for the option to select any object, on any layer, feels a bit unnatural. In my view reduce the objects that you can select at the same time, gives an added advantage to work with layers.

  Is it possible to change this default setting in the illustrator preferences, to allow the selection of objects only on the current selected layer?

  usually we lock just the layers unwanted in the layers palette objects or the lock we do not want to go if they are on the same layer.

  objects act as a sublayer in a doc with a single layer as shown below and can be locked in the same way, by clicking on the lock box in the palette or by going to the manu at the top of the screen for object > lock.

  

  This screenshot shows a doc with multiple layers, some are hidden using the "eye" ball icon and some are locked using the lock icon.

  'points' on the right can be clicked to select the entire document on a layer.

  

• Change the selection of Illustrator keys

  It seems that illustrator adds and subtracts to the selection with the same command: shift + click. I want to change this so that the add command is shift + click while subtraction is ctrl + click.

  This would make things much easier, for example: I have a lot of straight lines at the end of the work. However, the few lines are shorter. I want to select all of the short lines, which vary in length, but are still shorter than adults.

  Currently I select all the rows and then I have to move click on each Sling to turn it off.

  If orders could change, I could select all the lines, then ctrl + click and create a marquee selection barely touch the longer lines, deselection of them. Note This is just one example, I face daily situations, where having the same command for two inherently different actions makes my job of 5 minutes take 30.

  This would be consistent with the many software out there like Autocad, Rhino, etc..

  Option/Alt - subtract the section form.

  Pointer tools no will allow you to use access keys as you asked.

  -get the CS6 (has problems as well, but works a little better)

  -get CC

  -install a virtual machine with an older system (10.6 or 10.8)

  -Check if your Mac is not as new as you think and you can still run Yosemite (also has problems, but perhaps not as much)
