Importing Photos copy to 'Photos '.

I used LR 4 foreign on your laptop with an external drive. Both are dead. Managed to get off photos ex disc before extinction and transfer to D:\dive photos\. I bought 5 LR and created a new catalog in D:\Lightroom Catalog\. My c:\ drive is a very small SSD. When I try to import my photos in diving again catalog it seems to put a copy in "images" which is of course on "c:\". ». It quickly fills c:\ and import stalls. I noticed that he brings metadata using photos as my large keyword list begins with pictures. I want to this list because it is a list of classification of sea slugs that took hours to develop. How can I stop LR copy the pictures in "Photos"?

After clicking on import do not use 'Copy' use 'Add' If you intend to keep the D drive connected when using LR.

Navigate to the folder of photos of diving to add to LR (in the existing location)

  • Import photos in photos - copy saved in the folder of Photos?

    Hello yinz,.

Simple question - when I import a picture and add it to my library, it looks like there is a copy left in my "Photos" folder in addition to have in my library of Photos.  So in my current ' Photos' folder, I have thousands of images, a 13 concert (old) iPhoto library and a library of Photos 12 gig.

I want to just make sure that I can get rid of everything, but the photo library and more.  They are just copies, correct?  Wanted to make sure I didn't delete anything, I need.

    Thank you!

    JHevel

As long as you use a 'managed' library all the imported photos are copied to your library and those outside of the library can be deleted to free up space on the hard disk.

    Hi Tweet49,

Problem may be due to bad sectors. Let us try the following methods.

    Method 1

Analyze the drive for bad sectors.

    1. click on start > computer.

    2. right click on the map, and then open properties > tools

    3. check the box to automatically correct system file and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    4. try to copy the files

    5. If the problem persists, create a new folder and then copy the files.

    6. If you are still not able to copy then try the next method.

    Method 2

I suggest to format the device, then try to copy music.

    7. click on start > computer.

    8. right click on the map and choose the Format option.

    9. you can choose Fat32 or NTFS.

    10. do not select Quick format.

11 try to copy the photos once formatting is complete.

Try this and let us know the result.

  • Deleting photos on an iPhone 6 after importing Photos

I used 6 (iOS 9.2.1) photos to import photos from my iPhone but can't seem to delete them from my phone because I'm running out of space. I can't find an option in Photos for me to do. I use iCloud library but tired of receiving messages telling me I am out of space and need to buy more. I was using the iPhone Optimize Storage option, so when I try to turn off iCloud, he tells me I'm losing photos. I guess that it space to store all of the photos uploaded to iCloud original is much more than the space I have left on my phone. So why would I back up my photos to a photo library. Yes, I could go through frame by frame making sure that they are all there, but there are more than 2500 and would prefer to delete automatically the picures copied after importation. Make sense?

Import Photos Panel has a check "Remove items after importing" below the toolbar. If you enable this, before importing items, they will be automatically deleted.

You don't see this check box, because you have activated on your iPhone photo library iCloud.  As long as you use iCloud photo library, the Mac cannot delete the photos, because they are stored in iCloud and only mirrored on your iPhone.

"Remove items after importation" is to risk anyway. I would not use this option. First, it is safer to check if the import was successful before deleting the photos from the iPhone.  Sometimes it happens that photos will be removed from the device, even if the import was not successful.

So why would I back up my photos to a photo library. Yes, I could go through frame by frame making sure that they are all there, but there are more than 2500 and would prefer to delete automatically the picures copied after importation. Make sense?

Since all the pictures are in the library of iCloud, download them by creating a new library of Photos on your Mac and enable it in your library to iCloud.  It will download all photos in iCloud.

You are you sure, that all the photos are safely on your Mac, disable iCloud photo library on your iPhone.  Then you can connect the iPhone to a USB port and use Image Capture to remove all the photos from the iPhone.

You can also download pictures from iCloud by using the web interface of your iCloud to www.icloud.com account.  Launch the Photos.app on this page and select the photos to download.

  • Import photos already imported previously

I use Windows 7 and had previously imported photos from my camera.  Something happened with my computer and now I want to import the photos again, but it won't let me because they had previously been imported.   How do I change the setting so I can re-import these photos?

I use Windows 7 and had previously imported photos from my camera.  Something happened with my computer and now I want to import the photos again, but it won't let me because they had previously been imported.   How do I change the setting so I can re-import these photos?

    =============================================
    Two possibilities:

    (1) renaming or deleting the following file:
    'PreviouslyAcquired.db '.

    expected photos to download again.

Find the file in the following location:

    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Photo
    Acquisition\PreviouslyAcquired.DB

    Rename: PreviouslyAcquired.OLD

If you can't find the file, you may need to change your
settings for 'show hidden files '.

In Windows 7, follow these steps:

Reach... Button start / Control Panel / appearance
and customization / Folder Options / Advanced
settings / display files, folders, and disks / OK

Now, find and rename the file.

Try to re - import your photos.

    (2) connect the camera to the PC via a USB cable and
    Turn on the camera.

Close all windows that can be opened.

Reach... Start / computer / removable devices
    Storage...

Look at the drive letters and see if one of them
represents the camera. He can say removable disk

If the camera is recognized... right click on the drive letter
and from the menu choose... Open or explore.

The directory of the memory card in the camera must
poster and if you browse through the various
files, you must find the photo files.

Once found... you can copy/paste the pictures in a folder
    on your hard drive.

Simple and the best solution IMHO is to use an internal
or external USB memory card reader.

It will not drain your camera batteries and can be faster.
FWIW... download from the camera when batteries
can be low after a long photo shoot could result
    corrupted photos.

I'm trying to import pictures from my android phone, and I get this error code?

    Hi Pam,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand, from the description of the problem, you are unable to import photos from your android phone and you get an error.

I appreciate if you could answer a few questions.

    1. how you try to import the photos?

2 how to connect Android phone on your computer?

3 what is the brand and model of your Android?

Copy pictures and videos from the micro-SD card on your Android device to a computer, allows you to save and use them on your PC for editing, sharing or display. The process of copying the photos and videos from your phone to a computer is quite simple, just follow the instructions below to start.

    Step 1:

    1. connect your smartphone using the USB sync cable. A USB icon appears in the notification area of your phone.

2 on the smartphone, drag down the notifications bar and then type. Then tap USB connected and then climb.

3 on the computer, click START, and then select computer or workstation. The micro-SD phone card is recognized and listed as a removable disk.

4 double-click the removable disk to open it. Double-click the DCIM folder, and then the camera folder.

5 in this folder, you can copy all the photos and videos taken with the digital camera on your Android smartphone.

6 to disconnect your Android, just go to the area of notifications on your phone and press the USB sign to disconnect.

  • How to locate import photo button in the library?

I set up the new computer yesterday (so am new to Windows 8), has been able to import photos from the camera to the image library with no problem to find the import button.  Today photo import button doesn't seem to be there.  Now when I try to import images from the camera they go automatically to a program called Power DVD.  I want to save the pictures in the pictures library but can't seem to get there.  Thought maybe I could copy of PowerDVD & then save in the picture library, but could not find a way to do it.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Looks like that PowerDVD has diverted from your settings for images.

To go back as it was, do the following:

    1. On your screen, type the word AutoPlay (you will see search results appear as you type)
    2. Choose the AutoPlay settings, then change to use the Photos App instead of powerdvd when you connect your camera.
  • Importing photos is not possible

    Hello

importing photos into Lightroom is no longer possible. I plugged a NikonD80, an Iphone6: won´t import window - view all Photos. Of course, there are a lot of photos not imported on memory cards!

Same problem with the internal or external drives hard. Before that, I imported thousands of photos with LR6 without any problem.

I would have tried to UN - and reinstalling LR6, but I Don t know how to get the Adobe uninstaller program.

I have the LR 6.6.1 standalone Version and Mac OS X 10.9.5.

Would appreciate your help. Thank you very much in advance!

Check the Destination area to ensure that the selected folder has write permissions.

Copy the images from the phone to the computer's hard drive, and then import.

Take the card from the camera and put in a card reader, and then try to import. If that doesn't work then copy images off the card to a folder on your hard disk and then import from there.

  • Lightroom 2015 suddenly stopped importing Photos

    Hi all

I am in desparat need information.  I'm editing photos to a sporting event and when I tried to import photos from my SD card I get the following message:

    lightroom screenshot.jpg

"Could not copy a file at the location requested."

I restarted the application several times.  Change to the folder where the photos will be imported to. I even tried to import images that are not on the SD drive and still nothing works.  Can someone help me please? !!!

This error means that you don't have write permission in the folder that you want to copy the photo to.

Thus, determine what is this file, then go to your operating system and change the permissions to that SPECIFIC folder so that you have the WRITE permission.

  • When you try to import photos, I get an error that says that the preview is not available for this file.

When you try to import photos I get an error that says: Preview is not available for this file. Then when I try to download these files, a gray box returns for each photo with the name of the file, and this error message -Preview is not available for this file but no picture. The files are JPEG files. I use Lightroom CC help?

Some additional information. I received these photos of my granddaughter of my son with Dropbox. I checked the files under properties and found that they were listed as "some blocked properties" so I checked the box to 'unlock' and click on apply. The blocked message went away. Then, I took the original photos out of the folder of file they were in. I went back to LR and made sure those grey boxes with the Preview is not available for this file was missing. Then I went to the new files with the status of unlock in a new folder and tried to import into LR... same thing happens again! UGH

    Hi rsobieski,

Could you please copy the images of Dropbox in a new folder on the computer/pictures folder.

Also, then try again to import images into Lightroom and also please check if you have read and write permissions on the images.

    Kind regards

  • If I import photos from iPhoto they will similarly remain in iphoto

If I import photos from iPhoto they will remain in iPhoto

Yes, your masters will remain in iPhoto. Items will make a copy.

You can import a library full iPhoto (v09 and above) including events or import individual photos.

  • I downloaded the trial version of Lightroom on my MacBook running El Capitan. I get the following message appears when you try to import photos: your update of Lightroom 6.3.0 drive to which you import images is low

I get the following message appears when you try to import photos: your update of Lightroom 6.3.0 drive to which you import images space is low. Delete files or empty the trash to make at least 250 MB available before continuing. ??? What it means? I'm not using a disc, a have a lot of space on my Mac.

Of course, you use a disk. When you import, you place a copy of your photos on your computer's hard drive (or external hard drive). The meaning of the error message seems very clear. What part of this do you not understand?

  • I bought a new computer, installed LR5 and import photos from a remote hard drive. Photos is finer, but all my Collections disappeared.  Is there a way to retrieve my Collections?

I bought a new computer, installed LR5 and import photos from a remote hard drive. Photos is finer, but all my Collections disappeared.  Is there a way to retrieve my Collections?

The Collections are stored in the LR catalog. If you had previously copied to your catalog on the other computer to the new all your collections would have been there.

Now that you have the images on the new computer, 'IF', they were placed in the same folder structure (IE even the folder names and locations) then copy through the original catalogue "should" include your collections. If they are in the names of different folder or on a different drive letter or name of the player, then you might be able to use the feature to locate Images to find them.

  • FrameMaker retains "bombing" when you try to import photos

    Hello:

I had problems every day to try to get some photos in my FM document, but the application keeps "bombing" on me. in other words, it crashes and again reports an internal error 8004, 6345644, 8487696 message or application closes completely. I want to import photos by reference rather than copy them, but nothing seems to work for me. I tried to import the files as. JPEG and. PNG formats without success so far. Each photo is ~ 3565 KB in size.

I searched the forum for this particular error, but most of the comments had to do with the PDFs and they do not apply to my situation (I even changed the printer to Adobe PDF format until I started to import the files without any significant improvement).

    System details:

Dell Vostro with Intel Core2 @ 2.40 GHz and 3.25 GB of RAM

photos from a camera Canon MP 10 (registered under both. JPEG and. PNG files)

    FrameMaker V8.0p277

    Windows XP

It is available system memory or is this something that I could do in the import process? I can't wait to finally get to the cause of this problem with your help.

    Thank you

    -Kimberly

Also, the error message you get indicates either that the graphic filter is having problems with the file, or less likely, that it runs out of RAM and free hard disk space.

If you want, you could zip one of your first jpg images and a re-recorded and include it with your message for some of us to look at...
