  I read an opinion about style sheets, import Word documents and formatting issues (regarding the import of predetermined styles/bullets/numbers and Word documents).  I also saw that someone was trying to create a css outside RH and has problems.  This brings me to a few questions.

  I think I have a big problem on my hands.  I tried to make things easier for SMEs which have been assigned to write procedures by creating the formats predefined in Word.  After reading pages of PG, I sank into my chair.  I got in trouble, he said.  I tried to edit some pages in the html editor and seem to make them worse.  I tried to simplify the code a bit (with what knowledge I have currently in html, which is minimal).  I am lucky that I have only about 200 documents that could be affected.  Comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  It's like that, no other choice.

  In the condition "If you want identical", you would have only a CSS, but you don't have to have them all identical. It's your call.

  It is not an error, but if you want to get out of this situation, you must do a clean up. The first step is to create a CSS that contains all your existing style names, note that I say the names. Each of your CSS files have a variety of styles, but we will make it easy for this explanation. We have H1, H2, P and P.Note (a class) while the other has an a H1, H2, P and P.Warning (a class). Now, let's say you have only two topics, CSS_1 and CSS_2. H1, H2, and P styles can be the same or different, but assuming they are different, you want to now, they are the same, so what you want is a CSS with H1, H2, P, P.Note and P.Warning. You could then apply that both subjects and all the content will be displayed as defined in CSS_3. Of course the real task is greater, but the principles are the same.

  The I should fix is to create a new CSS and copying in most of your CSS styles existing files. Then I look at others and copy in all models that are not already in. This gives you all the names of style, but with the appearance of false. Then you start working through the styles to get them right. It is not as bad as it sounds. I recommend using Top Style of http://www.bradsoft.com. There is a free version that opens only a CSS at the same time, but you can see what you do with it. Others can be opened in Notepad.

  Next time you need entry of the SME, the power for a model HR Word so that they all look the same. Their job is providing content for the styles are not relevant for them.

• Importing Word Documents

  Hello, I have problems with a member of the team to import Word documents. Recently, she had RoboHelp installed on his computer and tried to create his first project. When it tries to import a Word document it receives an error message, 'the Word Document Import Wizard cannot locate a supported Microsoft Word version. Please install Microsoft Word 2000 or XP. "We have Microsoft Word 2003. We are in a real bind because it takes the place of another Member of the team and we have her top and runs it immediately. You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Index of problem - importing Word documents

  Hello everyone.
  
  I use RoboHelp HTML 7.02.001.
  I created a new project for importing Word documents (Word 2003 SP2) in.
  There are nearly 100 records, all pretty small with defined Index entries. (These were broken on 9 training manuals)
  
  A before posting, I was advised that the output should be WebHelp, because users will have access to it through the corporate Intranet.
  Project settings has Index > add new keywords to > Index File (Perfect). And binary Index is checked, but I don't think it's necessary.
  
  I am importing several Word documents in a folder of the project at a time.
  Opens the screen of the wizard: import Word Document Conversion Options and the following items are checked.
  Preserve the title styles
  Convert the Table of contents
  Convert Index
  Add new keywords for the file Index (Perfect)
  Then, I chose to create only 1 sheet of Style Master who is subsequently changed.
  
  The Word Document Wizard: Split on Style window screen opens and all controls are deleted, because this step is already completed.
  
  My problem: The index is empty after importation.
  
  How can I fix this without having to change each HTML page?
  
  Any help will be appreciated.

• CS5 Question/problem paragraph Styles

  I have a document with a bunch of paragraph styles that use Myriad Pro Regualar as a base style. Whenever I have paste or draw formatted text in shape a different font and slap the paragraph style it select Myriad Pro Italic, rather than ordinary.

  I don't see anything wacky passes and never had this behaviour before when I used Helvetica Neue, who did not have any "Regular" face, or has never used the Roman side 55 of it for a base.

  This a known issue, I missed?

  It's a simple Word Document

  What version of MS Office are you running?

  Deleted documents generally go to the trash, unless you used a deletion method that permanently deletes so without going through the trash.  Have you looked in the trash?  If it is there, you can right-click on it and select "Restore" and it should return to the location and the State in which it was when you removed it.

• retention of the words italic when you apply the paragraph style

  When you place text in InDesign, I want to apply a paragraph style, but keep some (foreign) words in italics without having to search for each word and apply the italic character style. Texts are long and not originated by myself.

  The most recommended book for beginners here on the forum is Visual QuickStart of Sandee Cohen for InDesign. The 'bible' in my opinion, for very advanced users is Real World InDesign.

• RoboHelp 2015 won't let me import a Word document

  I just install Robohelp 2015 (version 12.0.0.306).

  When I try to import a Word file to create a new project, it fails, and I see the message:

  "The import Word Document Wizard cannot locate a supported Microsoft Word version. Please install Microsoft Word 2000 or newer. »

  But I use Word 2016.

  What is a known compatibility issue?

• Import Word doc problems 3

  Hi all

  I need to import a word document into indesign cs3 it's 150 pages of time so I need to see if I can fix this problem automatically.

  the document is a series of interviews, so he's followed by issue of response etc.

  questions are in bold in word but not characters in shape somehow. they just used the bold button. [screegrab of the word below]

  I created a paragraph style in indesign, called 'question' that applies color, bold and one space after the adjustment.

  I want to apply the style to each question, but by clicking on each issue in indesign and using my short comand key to apply it would be torture.

  I must thank Bob Levine to help me take a look to find/replace a little closer.

  in InDesign, you need to click your text box, and then choose file > place and place your Word copy.

  then choose Edition > find/replace in the first text tab down is to find and Format change.

  Find the Format you choose, in my case, at the time and "BOLD".

  Change of Format, where you choose your style of paragraph or character, in my case, 'issues '.

  then just hit everything change.

• Copy paragraph styles between documents

  I have a document that contains a text I want to copy to another document. The original text is tagged with a paragraph called body style. If the document that I copy in already has a paragraph style called body defined, then when I copy the text in this document, he applies his body paragraph style to the text I copy in there. • Paragraph styles changing all of the text, not only selected text

  Hello, I'm using CS5, InDesign, on a Mac and I'm having a terrible time applying my paragraph styles in the imported Word document. The main problem is when I select text to apply my paragraph style to, the style is applied to all the text in the thread of the text in InDesign. The solution I understood is to go in Word, cut and paste each section on Word, a new Word document and be sure to 'Paste special' and select 'text style' in Word. Then, I am able to apply for the different sections of text paragraph styles when it is imported into InDesign. The only problem is that all hyperlinks are removed and I must now enter and put them all by hand. It is well over 100 hyperlinks in this ebook. I spent 4 hours trying to solve this problem. There seems not to be a conflict of style when I import the Word document and I am sure no paragraph or character styles are selected when I put them the text. I changed the options "next style" in paragraph stlyes and which seems not helped either. This would be a matter of Word?

  That sounds to me like you have separte paragraphs, but have line breaks forced in the place where the paragraph breaks must be. You can check that by showing the nonprinting characters.

• Table of content not applying paragraph styles do not

  Intensely frustrated, but assuming that I have do just something stupid I can't understand.  I use CS4.

  Try to make a table of contents.  Everything will import correctly in the table of contents - I because of paragraph styles to the different levels, I've wanted to, etc., including some of the hidden layers.  All these import correctly.

  I did the paragraph styles for the real KNOCK out and filled in the box for each to apply to the specifc level.  The basic indentation formatting etc. I am applying work, but features and the font size will not change.

  When I look at each paragraph style, everything entered in the way that I want it to be (that is, text formatting, etc.).  I can go to my OCD manually and click on the section of text and apply the style to the paragraph I want and apply the recesses, etc., but the formatting of the text is not.  I have to go to character styles to make it work.

  If I go into another section of my document, apply that same paragraph text style, then all (characteristics of fonts & renfonçait changes etc.).

  Looks like you can have styles of characters applied to text in the document itself, and these character styles are preserved. Local formatting and character styles applied in the paragraphs are retained when you make the table of contents.

  Many users doesn't seem to understand the distinction between character and paragraph styles, too and using character styles incorrectly. I'm not saying that it's true for you, necessarily, but you should undersand this character styles are used to change the font attributes for bit isolated from the text in a paragraph. The basis for the type specification is part of the paragraph style, and there should be no reason to apply a style of character with the exception of special cases - some words or characters - in the paragraph. Text most will have no style applied character.

  Pages on El Capitan 10.11.1 v5.6.1.

  I just created a quote indented using ITC Garamond Book Italic with left and right margins altered. Well selected, I clicked on the + symbol in the paragraph, named the new Styles pop-up style Indented quote and you press return.

  Always selected in the body of the document, I applied the body paragraph Style to restore the normal formatting and then with the text again, the paragraph of citation Style indented - who worked as expected.

  If you want that your new Style of paragraph to survive across documents, you will need to save it in a model. You can also have two different Pages, documents open in Pages v5.6.1, and copy/paste the custom styles between the selected text in these documents by using the Format menu.
