Impossible to find Recovery Manager on my drive hard, but I know that this is

I want to use the Recovery Manager, but can't find it on my hard drive. I know that it is there, as it appears occasionally, but not recently. Can someone please give me the name of the file and its location?

Thank you.

Hi Cheryl,

This is the file I was looking for...

C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\Recovery\CDCreator.exe

.. .it finally popped up again. It is a CyberLink program under license to HP.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Kind regards

Scott

  • Equium A200: Norton can't find no viruses, but I know that this is

My laptop (Equium A200) was attacked by a virus that has a malfunction of many programs. I ran Norton (the free version that came with the laptop) but found nothing. I finally decided to execute the recovery of the product. It took 3 attempts to load properly, but the system is still unstable and slow and I need to reboot fairly often.

    Any sugguestions?

    Hello

If you have installed the new OS and recovered the notebooks with Toshiba Recovery CD then you shouldn't have any virus or malware on the HARD drive.
Usually, the HARD disk will be formatted using the recovery CD and delete all the files (data and virus).
I recommend that you format the whole HARD drive and delete all partitions. Then retrieve the laptop using the Toshiba CD and reinstall the OS.
Finally, you must get rid of all malicious software and viruses.

If the laptop is running slowly and unstable after this procedure, then I don't think that any virus could cause such problems.

  • By using the Recovery Manager to repartition the HARD drive

I started a post a few days back on my pavilion DM1-3014AU netbook that runs on AMD APU-E350, 2 GB of ram and comes pre loaded with windows 7 Home Basic. I had a number of requests because I want to repartition the hard drive, do a fresh install of windows 7 my disc and I also want to keep some of the hp software.

After going through a few messages in this forum, I learned that we can use the Recovery Manager to do a minimal install, IE windows 7 and only the hp software. That's what I have to do unless I also want to repartition the hard drive.

I currently have 4 partitions, C drive, hp tools (hidden) and backup (hidden). I have already created recovery disks. Now, my questions are:-

    1. can I use recovery disks or Recovery Manager to delete all existing partitions and recreate my own partitions. This means that I would remove the recovery, tools and backup partitions.

    2. After doing the above I'll be able to do a minimal install (os + hp software) via the Recovery Manager or the recovery disks.

    3. my intutions are that I can accomplish the above two using the recovery disks and not the recovery partition. If the above two steps are possible using recovery discs, it would ultimately have no partition on my hard drive recovery. I will then be able to use the recovery disks in the future to make the same minimum install (os + hp software)

    4. I wouldn't really keep the recovery, tools and backup partitions if they can be of any complacency in the future but the reson why I want to delete them, is that windows 7 Home Basic allows no more than 4 partitions and I want to be able to create at least 4 partitions for my use.

Any help would be really appreciated...

Yes Vikrant... it is unnecessary to install UEFI to update BIOS.

Yes, if you install the update to the BIOS using the link I provided in my previous thead element, you can as a revert to a version of BIOS as soon as possible if you feel that the system is unstable.

Even if you reparition the whole HARD disk and do a manimized install, you can install the BIOS update in the future.

Updating the BIOS is independent if you did full recovery or minimizes recovery.

BIOS update will not affect the use of recovery disks and procedures. You can safely use them in the future without any problem.

You will use the ability to run F9 diagnostics incase of any software system crash, and you are unable to start Windows.

  • Can't find Recovery Manager for Windows 8

I have a new HP Envy 7300 dv6t laptop.  I have it turned on twice.  First time I created only my computer name and the name of the user ID and the password.  Second time (a few minutes ago), I activated Windows 8 and goes immediately to create system recovery discs.  I typed in the search box "Recovery Manager", clicked on it and chose "Create recovery media."  He then gave me the message "You are allowed to create a set of recovery media" which I clicked "I agree."  Then he took me to the screen that says "Please insert one of the following media.  (I was following a you tube explanation of how do and so far everything was fine.)  However, when it came to the screen, it appeared (tube video of you), I had to click on my choice of media, I was going to use (flash drive, DVD or DVDDL.)  However, nothing would happen when I tried to click on "DVD".  Instead, below the choice to use, the "gear" kept spinning icon, acting like he was going to do something... but she kept spinning and spinning.  As it says at the top "Please insert one of the following media", I thought that maybe I needed to put in the DVD.  So I did.  Still nothing.  The engine continued to run.  So I thought that maybe the computer has been suspended.  So I took out the DVD and closed off Recovery Manager think I'll try again.  Now, however, when I type in the search box "Recovery Manager", nothing comes.  Just the message "no parameters corresponding to your research."  Certainly, I can still do these disks, right?  Certainly my time 'one' is not gone because I liquidated.  Please someone help me!  Thank you

In fact, I restarted the computer and it's back!  Yes!  Now I'm doing the disks.  It takes 6 discs and I'm on disc 6 now.  However, 3 times that day I received a message saying something to the effect of "try again... it didn't work."  So, I intend to call HP in a few minutes, because 2 of these 3 times it was on disk 6 and I have 2 discs left.  However, the INITIAL problem was that my driver optical (or whatever it's called) was not working so HP had me uninstall and reinstall the driver.  Apparently with Windows 8, there are just a bunch of problems that need to be developed. I think that they also said that they have problems with the system recovery discs.  So, if someone is reading this and experiencing problems, you can just give them a call and tell them it has to do with the system recovery.

  • HDD Recovery format all the drive HARD Equium P200-178

    Hello

I need to reinstall Vista on my laptop.
The question is: is the recovery of a partition option erases all partitions of data?
Both with bones and the other with the data?

I've been trying to find out on the forum.
Some say the recovery cd to clean all partitions, but drive HARD recovery has the option to format only partition C

    Hello

Well, as far as I know the HARD drive recovery procedure is the same procedure as the use of the Recovery DVD.
In both cases the laptop will be set to factory settings which means that you will get the same data on the HARD drive as on the first day of purchase
So it need to format the HARD drive and should restore again uses the image of Toshiba.

But if you want to know if the second partition will be deleted and then created again and then store a small file on the second partition and then perform the procedure of HARD drive recovery.

After installing the OS has finished go to the second partition and check if the same file that is always present on the second partition.

  • my c drive shows low disk space, so I searched for the program that holds more memory on drive c. I got to know that this pagefile.sys has 3 GB in the c drive

Hi, my c drive shows low disk space, so I searched for the program that holds more memory on the c drive. I came to know that pagefile.sys has 3 GB in the c drive, kindly guide me to move the pagefile.sys to another drive.

    Hi jafrin.michel,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community.

Before you start the troubleshooting steps, I need the information required.

What version of the windows operating system do you use?

    Method 1:

If you are using windows 7, I suggest to perform a disk cleanup and verify.

    Delete files using disk cleanup

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

    Method 2:

If you want to move the pagefile.sys to another drive, follow the steps and check out them.

Follow these steps to move the pagefile.sys to C: drive on D: drive (if you have the drive D :).

1, write click on my computer and select Properties.

2, click on the Advanced tab.

3, click settings under performance menu.

4, click on the Advanced tab and click on change.

5, select letter (C :) and "BOLD" No pagefile then click on Set. )

6, if you want to configure pagefile.sys in, select drive D: drive letter D: and "BOLD" in the custom size or the size of the system managed , then click on Set. It displays a pop-up message click OK.

7, again click apply and OK OK.

8, the system you will be asked to reboot, click on Yes.

9, after rebooting the system, you can see the pagefile.sys will be moved to D:

  • where can I find support for installing a drive hard hitachi

I'm working on the laptop of a friend (aspire 5253) who had a virus package root.  After spending hours trying to get out I decided to wipe the hard drive.  I glued the Win7 has begun the installation until I got the message BOOTMGR is missing. After moving to the front, the system is now looking for media drivers, most likely, hard drive...?  There is not a driver available for this portable device disc and the acer site has no driver, that he needs.  any suggestions on how to fix this?  THX in advance

    1. on another computer, download the tool and create a Windows 10 installation media.

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

    2. go aspire 5253 BIOS settings to activate the Boot Menu to boot from USB or DVD and then save/quit.

    3. start windows 10 support that you created in step 1.

    4. When you see the screen below, press SHIFT + F10, so you have access to a command prompt

    5. use "diskpart own", not only clean the hard disk, but also to put it in an uninitialized state (works for HDDs and SSDS)

    http://Forum.crucial.com/T5/the-CRU/reset-your-SSD-to-factory-settings-Windows-Diskpart/BA-p/162503

    6. Remove windows 10 installation and insert the media to install windows 7.

    7. turn off the computer (turn off the computer)

8 turn on the computer and install windows 7.  Select custom installation.  Do not partition or format the hard drive.  Just click on the drive (unallocated space) where you want to install windows, and then click "next".  Windows setup will automatically partition and format your drive for you. (Or if you use an Acer recovery media, follow the instructions of Acer)

9 Windows 7 drivers are here:

    http://us.Acer.com/AC/en/us/content/drivers

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Also, instead of install windows 7, you can install windows 10 If you want to give it a shot, but you will need to enter the key of windows 7 to a point, so you can activate the free upgrade.) It is difficult to say whether or not Windows will find all windows 10 drivers for your computer.  You may go directly to the website of component manufactures to find windows 10 drivers.  Acer does not provide 10 drivers for your computer... model and your computer may or may not work properly with windows 10)

  • NB200 - Recovery Media Creator and drive HARD USB

I just bought a white NB200 and noticed that it does not come with a DVD of Windows 7 in case I ever need to install.
I was informed by the seller in the store I could save a copy on a USB key using a recovery disc writing.
I assume that "Recovery Media Creator" is the best way to do it.

I booted up and it said that it will be 6.7 GB. I don't have a USB this size, but have a portable hard drive (250 gb) with 120 GB to spare.
Even though I can view the drive in Windows Explorer / workstation, the program of recovery media says ' Please insert a USB drive with greater than 6.7 GB memory ', whenever I click on the create"" button.

    If anyone can help?

    Hello

I doubt that you can use the USB HDD to create a recovery disk image.
The Toshiba recovery disc creator has been designed in order to create a bootable recovery disk!
It has not been designed for sure the image of Toshiba on the HARD drive!

So if you want to use the Toshiba recovery disc creator then you must buy a USB CD/DVD drive that can burn the recovery image on a DVD

  • IAM, trying to find how to clean my drive hard because my laptop is slow _

    Compaq laptop than two years

    Hello terry,.

There are many things that can slow down a PC, not less the software that you install on it. You also have hundreds of temporary internet files that can also slow things down. Another problem is that if the files on your hard drive are fragmented.

My first option would be to download a free application called CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/) is told from the same people that make CCleaner are also called Defraggler defragmentation tool. It has a graphical interface, so you can see what's going on. In fact, you might prefer download Defraggler also instead of using the version of windows that comes with Vista.

My next, after running CCleaner, would indeed be to defragment your hard drive. This should be done according to a schedule, but if you turn on your laptop you so don't miss the calendar and there is no. I think that it is configured to start at about 02:00 every month. But don't worry you can easily do it manually. You can do this either in the start menu or the command prompt. The menu option start doing everything in the background, and you don't have any idea what's going on. To do this click the Start button, followed by all programs, accessories, system tools and Disk Defragmenter.

  • Try to re - initialize the 2nd drive hard - but how?

    Hello
I buy an internal drive of Hitachi 3TO for my Vista 64 system b to use as a single data storage drive.  Accidentally, I chose the option when it is time to initialize the disc with respect to the partion 2 TB or MBR.  He advanced and formatted the drive in this way and left about 746 GB unallocated.  I want to start from scratch and have all the 3 to appear as a single volume, so I think that I need initialized as TPG (as described in: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg463524).

However, I can't have the option where I can convert it by the article.  How to start the process more so that I can initialize and format the drive to 3 TB.  Yet once, it is for the storage of data only and not for the operating system.
    Thank you!

    Found!

To change a master boot record disk into a GUID partition table disk using a command line

    1. Back up or move the data on the basis of master boot drive (MBR) record that you want to convert into a disk GUID partition table (GPT).

    2. Open an elevated command prompt (right click on command promptand then click run as administrator) and type diskpart. If the disc does not contain any partitions or volumes, go to step 6.

    3. At the DISKPART prompt, type list disk. Note the number of the disk to convert.

    4. At the DISKPART prompt, type select disk .

    5. At the DISKPART prompt, type clean.

      Important
Run the clean command deletes all partitions or volumes on the disk.
    6. At the DISKPART prompt, type convert gpt.

Then I'll return to the computer management screen and the disk appears as 2.79 TB disk and I can start the formatting process.  Phew.  That took a while to discover this.
