Hi, I bought this product about an hour ago from Bestbuy. It was sealed in his case, there is no way, it was a homecoming.

When I insert the SD card with the inside microSD adapter to my computer, it asks to format the drive. Then the Format Windows removable disk appears and says that my card is 30.6 MB... When I click on Start to get in shape, with the default given the options, it returns back that it is impossible to format.

I tried the SD Formatter 4.0 card. He says that it is write protected, even if the switch is not in write protect mode.

  • H:\ is not accessible impossible to format

    Hello

It's Manu I have 16 GB SanDisk USB key when I insert my USB it showing windows want to format the drive when I clicked it again show an error IMPOSSIBLE to format how I can I solve this problem...?

    Have you tried formatting cmd.

First try this, type Format H:/q cmd (where h is the drive letter of your)

USB stick in your case it may be different). It performs a quick format.

You can also format the key USB by right-clicking Start to go on the computer

Management then disk management , then you can click right on your

    USB key for formatting.

If it doesn't not solve your problem, then try on way:

Right-click on the service Start , and then click the command prompt (Admin).

Now, in cmd type diskpart , and then type list disk you can see the disk

number and size to find you which disk is your USB. If you

don't have not connect another disc Disk 1 then maybe your USB key.

Type select disk 1 then type Clean . After that, type create partition primary

who creates the new partition, and then type select partition 1 to choose who

partition after the category active then format fs = ntfs quick where fs is the

system files of your pen drive now type assign to assign the drive letter.

    Get out now cmd.

You can also use the software Hp format or Format usb drive to format

your pen drive, search it in google.

  • PowerMac G3, 9.2.2, and inability to format disks/diskettes

So rather a strange question, but I have been unable to locate any information about any similar problem to what I saw. Currently have met a Performa 6200 CD and a Powermac G3 266 Mhz. My main problem is with the Powermac, and that it will not recognize or format disks (floppy and CD).

If a disk with some data on it (Mac and PC format and all two accepted on the Performa), it gives only a message to initialize the disc and only Mac 800 K or BACK 800 k. However, an attempt to initialize the disk results in a clerical error and fails. The same error occurs when it is given to a blank CD, including the pop - up application initialization in the PC format, but fails every time. Disk utility ran and not errors in the system, so not sure on what could be the problem.

Any help to solve this is appreciated. I am trying to recover data from floppy disks to backup my Mac SE (definitely failed SCSI drive), but while I can access most data on the Performa, only G3 gives the opportunity for me to move the files from Mac disks only to other CD/USB/Ethernet media.

You do not "format" dtive optical media using the OS disk utility.

For the CD, you will need to find a burning software that is compatible with the old Mac OS, as a version of olde of Roxio Toast that will run on Mac OS 9.2.2 for formatting and burning a disc with you setup to transfer data and burned to a disc.

Search for Roxio Toast 5 this could work as its requirements are Mac OS 8.6 or later.

    https://www.Amazon.com/Roxio-Toast-Titanium-old-version/DP/B00005AW1G/ref=sr_1_1? ie = UTF8 & qid = 1470460272 & sr = 8-1 & keywords =...

I don't think that any old version of MacOS had all abilty to burn discs in native mode. You need hardwarw/software of third parties to achieve this.

I also believe, the CD drive is a CD-ROM drive and has no way to record on a disc.

So you have to find/purchase/use an external, compatible player/CD burner in any case.

In addition, referring to CDs, first Macs and early PowerMac that had integrated CD players could only read and use optical discs of 650 MB size and these discs had to be the r/RW type. These first Macs were unable to recognize the later 700 MB size CD - R /-RW.

    https://www.Amazon.com/Memorex-74-minute-10-Pack-discontinued-manufacturer/DP/B0 0000J4GS/ref = sr_1_fkmr1_1? ie = UTF8 & qid = 14...

I'm not sure of your disk problem. There may be simply that the floppy drive has a problem with his read/write head that prevents the diskettes to be read or written on properly.

There used to be floppy drive cleaning discs that could clean up the read/write heads, but I don't know if these are available any longer or if that resolve the problems with your floppy drive or not.

I found a bunch of floppy drive different kits on Amazon of cleaning.

So, check out this possibility, as well.

You happen to know the largest capacity flash drives (USB) available?

Currently, the largest capacity available flash drives I've seen are 128 GB although Wikipedia shows 256 GB flash drives are available now (September 2011) with plans for up to 2 TB capicities.

As you can see on research related to Newegg.com below, the 128 GB flash drives are (IMO very) expensive. However, I am sure that the prices will fall as soon as more capacity flash drives are available.

  • Recently, asks Windows to format my device in G: (SD card) and then he said: Windowns impossible to format.

I've never had this problem before.  Still, I inserted my SD card then transferred my files from the same card in the same way as always.  He asks to format the device in the g and when I try, it says that Windows is unable to format... It is a huge problem for my work.  I tried an LPB SD card and the same thing is happening.

    Hello

You cannot format a disk or partition that is currently in use, including the partition that contains Windows. It is a safety feature so that you cannot delete Windows by accident. To reformat your SD card, reboot your computer and try to format.
Try SD card connection to another computer, backup the data and format the SD card.

To format the G: try the following steps.
    1. open computer.
    2. right click on G: and Format.
    3. Select the NTFS file type, and then click format.
    4. click on ok.

If the problem persists, connect the SD card to another port and verify its operation.

  • Impossible to format an external hard drive?

So, I am trying to format a 1 TB WD My Passport external hard drive but get the error messages.  I recently completely wiped out this player because he was running extremely slow and when I try to create a simple format through the disk management I get an error message "request cannot be performed because of an i/o error".  He also sees the drive, in disk management, but there is no associated letter and he said that all of the disk is not affected (931 GB).  How do I get this problem?

In cases where the Disk Manager does not work, I use a 3rd party application EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition (freeware @ easeus.com). It allows to create a partition in the unallocated space, and then name it and assign it a letter then put it. Then, Windows will recognize the newly formatted disk.

I don't know why Windows won't do, but I had this happens on two external drives, and it works.

    Hello

    1. Are you referring to the NEC USB Floppy Driver?
    2. You try to format floppy disks?
    3. Was - this earlier work, if so, did the chnages on the computer before this problem?

If it worked, I suggest the following methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

Open the hardware and devices troubleshooter.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

Update a hardware driver that is not working properly.

As you can see, the unit supports and recognizes correctly the volume of 2 TB, but breast of ESXi is impossible to format a VMFS beyond 45.26 GB volume.  It seems that we are stuck in a total of 50 GB of space on a volume of 2 TB.  Someone at - it ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    nniemeyer2

Your volume TB 2.04, VMware is limited to a size of 2 TB - something more volume that wraps to lose the first 2 TB. Then the 40 GB, you can format is 0.04 CT.

Resize/re-partition your device less than 2 TB.

  • Pavilion G4 1303AU: impossible to format the hard disk in any case

I had 8 current enforcement windows on my system, then I thought to install linux (distribution mageia) on it. Before I formatted the entire system and created primary and extended partitions as well as some allocated space was left for linux.

Then I installed windows 8 on a primary partition C. I installed linux on the unallocated space, and follow the steps in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLu1NwsZr48

I don't understand what was going on well.

After I don't have grub GUI screen 2 so I rebooted the system and windows 8 started normally and automatically.

Now, I decide to remove the linux partitions cz they did not appear on the home screen (for the dual boot option)

I went to dskmgmt.msc and tried to delete the partition containing linux. The removal process has continued and eventually hanged. So I rebooted my pc and boom, the pc will not boot into windows 8.

It shows crashes and win8 logo... I tried to format it, there also, it shows the start with logo screen and crashes in windows 7, it loads the files, comes up to the part where the logo builds up and crashes, tried mageia live cd also, there also it hangs on the splash screen.

I tried default BIOS, I tried to format it using usb, everything.

The hard drive gets detected as "laptop hard drive" in the bios... so I don't think that it must be a hardware problem.

I hope there is a solution, because the laptop repair shops say that he died. I did not trust them because how can a partition physically damaged hard drive!

Please respond quickly with a solution...

    I should be grateful!

I know that my hard drive is not permanently damaged... He has just damaged its nd of mbr partitions, but not able to clean or to format these partitions... Also I don't have a big electromagnet to erase all data... So help

You can refuse to accept it, but if Diskpart--> List volume or drive list does not see the drive when the data and power connectors are active, then the disk controller has not.  The hard drive is the material of the trash. Replace it with another new hard drive.

An electromagnet not wip data from the hard drive. The hard drive uses magnets neodymium as p [art of its design.

  • Memory card appears as raw disk, impossible to format and does not open

my 32 GB lexar memory card does not open & showing the memory of 32 MB raw drive how can I change rw in fat32 format & recover my data

    Hello Anil,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

What is the brand and model of your computer?

Thank you for details on the issue.

This problem may occur because of corrupted memory card or driver settings.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
Run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and check.
    Reference:
Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

If this does not help, use method 2.

    Method 2:
Please use the suggestions in this article and check the issue.
    Reference:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01884924

Note: The conversion of a hard disk partition or volume from NTFS to FAT32 requires that you reformat the partition, which deletes all the data on this subject. Be sure to back up data that you want to keep before you begin.

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    Thank you

  • Satellite U400-112: impossible to format the local drive (damaged MFT?)

    Hello!

I had a pretty serious problem with my HARD drive.
    250 GB HARD drive
C: 116 GB - NTFS - Windows XP (Vista initially)
    D: 1, 5 GB - NTFS - (Vista Recover?..)
E: 117 GB - RAW (was NTFS prior to crash)

Local drive E: MFT have been damaged because of the virus attack (I hope not because of my madness!). It's NTFS, now it's RAW. I got all the necessary data partition with program ZAR, but all my attempts to recover or just the format E: remained unsuccessful.
None of the defective sectors found on the HARD drive. Standard Windows tool to format the disks fails: 'it's impossible to finish the formatting of E:

Before this problem with the E: drive, I had several problems with HARD drive. I have never divided re discs, to Partition Magic from the beginning he identified incorrectly. I tried Partition Magic 7 and 8.
    Link: [error screensaver | http://cs1498.vkontakte.ru/u169802/154397/x_3a82b4fb.jpg]

The problem is that the special programs (I tried "find and Mount") also could not identify partitions to correct the defective MFT. I thought that low-level format can help me, but I heard, that the use of all applications for other producers can probably destroy my HARD drive. Are there only special applications of Toshiba developed for such cases? Or you can advice me something else?

    Thanks for your help!

P.S. These applications did not help me:
Find and Mount (can't find the HARD drive)
Acronis Recovery Expert (does not find the HARD drive)
OnTrack EasyRecovery Professional (does not resolve the error, but help to recovery data)
    HDD Regenerator

Thus you get back all your important data?

I would like to just launch Recovery to restore the HARD drive to its factory condition. If the recovery fails, you can try to delete the partitions with FDISK from a startup MS-DOS disk. Free bootdisks can be found at www.bootdisk.com

FDISK can also repair a Master Boot Record by running this command: FDISK/MBR
But it is not 100% reliable, it could cause more harm than good.
