Impossible to install Access Connections 5.00

I have a T42 running Win2k, driver hotkey 2.08.2008, 4.1.2.156 wireless drivers and Access Connections 4.42. I downloaded Access Connections 5.00 and tried to install it but I got the following error after reboot:

GetSystemWow64DirectoryW could not be located in the Kernel32.dll module

My best estimate, this function exists only in XP or in the Windows 64-bit versions. I uninstalled AC 5.00 and cleaned up the directory and tried to reinstall, but still shows the same error. Does this mean 5.00 AC is incompatible with Win2k? Lenovo Web site claims that it supports Win2k...

    Hi David!

You could possibly install first download the installer manually and then running locally. You can find the installer for version 7.5 here:

Also, be sure that you have sufficient privileges to install the software on your computer...

    Hi Mundilfar,

You can try the folliwng steps and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

You can try to scan the file system [SFC] checker on the computer that will replace missing or corrupt files & check if the problem persists.

For more information, you can consult the following link.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    Step 2:

All ethernet customers have a fixed IP address to allow independent operation of the DSL router.

However, the key 'NameServer' existing still in step d) above obviously outweighs the DhcpNameServers servers. As server names still points to 192.168.2.1, all name resolutions fail in the desktop environment.

Temporary problem solution: use regedit to manually remove the server from the registry key names.

I traced this down with ProcMon: Access Connections is the only process that never written in the key of the name server. More specifically (the call stack):

I called Lenovo support. They said that ThinkVantage programs are not taken in charge.

  • Impossible to install a host operating system

Install completely new for vSphere 5.0 on the new Dell server.  vSphere server and client installed on the appropriate machines.  Made datacenter and virtual machine made, but impossible to install OS on it.  Srv Win2008 installation 2.

I tried to install from the customer and welcome CD, install from memory stick and install from ISO on the client.  I've disabled PXE and moved CD at the top of the boot list.  I hit f12 and specifically selected boot to a CD.  I still receive the "could not be found operating system".

I can't find anywhere that tells me how to copy an ISO on the host drive and I do not know shell (said I don't).

Everything I found on google is a dead-end.

    Any help would be great!

    Greg

Welcome to the community - are you sure that the CD is bootable? To copy an ISO file to a data store on your ESXi host, you can use a program like winscp but you will need SSH access is enabled or using browser data store will allow you to copy the ISO file on your desktop into your ESXi hosr -.

  • L530 - Access Connections: proxy + settings homepage

The problem is on a brend new L530, installed from scratch with Win7 64 bit Enterprise, no Center solutions Lenovo, just updated Lenovo (5.02.0018) and Lenovo access connection system (6.01).

    The steps I did:

    1. Ethernet cable is plugged
    2. Starting system
    3. After a while AC asked the name of the new profile, beating Pavilion of the box "Edit profile."
    4. Settings changed
    5. Apply profile... nothing happened on the control panel (Internet Options) if IE is useless.
    6. Looks like Firefox changed settings (profile manual and all the settings are there).

I hope AC would set "Control Panel-> Internet options", so that all modern browsers would work (Chrome and Firefox have all two 'System Settings' for the Proxy settings).

Keep in mind that if I restart the system (perhaps to force AC to read profiles) looks like everything is working properly.

The real problem seems related to profiles created after loading of AC.

    Any clue?

Moderator Edit:  Please DO NOT post in threads of 4 years and more!

Perhaps this could be useful for someone because I think I found the problem: pay attention to the setting "No. Proxy!

I did some tests and it seems that HQ does not have 'Firefox' syntax for this parameter (i.e. 10.0.0.0/8), if you put it on the profile the proxy parameter will not be scheduled.

The other problem is that Firefox will not include IE settings (10.*).

At the moment I put in place of the profiles just with 'Syntax of IE' and wrote on BugZilla:
