  An Optiplex 790 supplied w/win7pro. virus messed up so badly he had to erase and start over. He didn't restore factory disk. Media is long gone. I have the key # on the side. I tried a dozen ways to rebuild blocks of MS and it me at every turn. I was able to download win7 from MS, but not with an OEM key. I tried a win8 Dell another disc, but do not have the key. Were responsible for win7 but not activate a detail win7pro upgrade dvd and I have the key with this but he doesn't like it. Tried the key from another Dell supplied with win7. win10 downloaded, but he does not like any key I. don't want to order and wait days for Dell to send a new drive.   I can't update to Windows 8.1 to 8.0.  Compatibility Assistant HP says that it has not been tested.  The computer is only about a year.  I struggle to believe that HP does not support the upgrade on that old computer.

  I installed Win 7 Home Premium on a MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012... full specs below) and updated to Service Pack (SP) 1.

  Created bootcamp partition 48GB for Windows and Windows Explorer reports that there is about 20.9 GB of free space on the startup disk.

  Update Windows 10 specifications say that 20BG of free space is needed (for the 64-bit version).  When I run the Win10 Update Setup, it says that my Mac meets the requirements... but when I click on download, I got error 0 x 80070070 which means that there is not enough free space for the installation.

  What's wrong?  Why the installer says I don't have enough free space?  Specifically, how can I get the upgrade installed Win10; How much free space Windows Explorer should say I so that the installation program to run?

  Bootcamp doesn't let me do the Windows partition much more given the files that I currently have on my SSD.  Before you do all sorts of reconfiguration to make the space more, let me ask: someone at - he got Win7 for upgrade to Win10 on Bootcamp?

To answer your question, Yes, many people have improved Windows 7 to 10 Windows using boot camp. You can find other threads posted here on this, or other matters related to the upgrade. You are correct that error 0 x 80070070 is specific to that need more space.

  Bootcamp documentation specifies "at least 10 GB". You make the Windows 10 documentation calls for 20 GB. It always seems that your 20.9 GB is not enough space, and the only recommendation I can offer is to follow the Microsoft article to give your car a little more space.

  I just bought a 2nd hand Helix with warranty until 2016, of mind running Windows 8 Pro.

  When I tried to switch to Win 8.1, I got a message saying that this version I have is not eligible for the upgrade to Win 8.1. I checked and found that the version of Windows that I checked, but has an expiration in October 2015. The worst news is when I called Miscroft and was informed that my version of windows is not genuine!

  If the propeller should not come pre-installed with OEM Win 8 Pro (at least that is what it says on the box)? Since then I tried to create a recovery disk to reset the machine to its state of origin, but without success (I could create the drive but seems it does not recognize the update process...)

  My question is: is he away from reset my Helix in its original condition with windows 8 Pro so that I can go to 8.1 and earn 10 later?

  Not all the Versions of Windows 8 Pro are able to upgrade directly to Windows Pro 8.1.

  Not all of the Helix are sold with Windows 8 Pro Edition.

  So I think it would help to install Windows Pro 8.1 on your propeller: upgrade of windows 8 pro for windows 8.1 I'ts not the problem that your Windows is not genuine.

  Cannot install Windows 8 on my new Ultrabook. Get the error message " error has occurred during Installation, the system will be restarted" to try to update via the installer under Windows

  I tried to burn the ISO on a USB media (cause obviously Envy6 isn't a DVD player) and I tried to make the day & clean installation, making who has not worked or the other. I've got zero of the partitions on the disk selection window and could not find storage error message drivers.

  I tried to download various packages on the site of HP support for storage/disk hard/that it is, extracted for the key in separate folder, but still Windows has not found something there.

  Then, I got this problem and already on... Ta-da Pro 8 Win!

  The key issue is a key - USB loading in UEFI mode (right?). In which Windows could not do anything. I pressed F9 at startup and selected USB Drive Legacy (or sth like this) and everything worked like a charm.

  Hi, I have flashed accidentally BIOS version 1.17 on my Aspire E1 - 731 running win 8.1). Now it won't boot from the HARD drive. I am able to boot with win 8 from a USB (Win to Go) and tried to flshh back to version 2.28 BIOS but the program does not Flash it. I said that I must uograde to a similar version (1.x).

  Currently, he does not drive HARD and when I boot with the USB with Win 8, WIFI doesn't work.

  No you can't do it this way. Put the hard drive in the laptop and make the HP recovery disks. Use it to restore Windows 8.1 on the SSD.
