Impossible to place bookmarks in the bookmarks bar.

Have tried everything to put favourite websites in the bookmarks toolbar. But in vain. One solution was to drag the icon from the address bar, but I see only a padlock. When you try to save a site in the menu drop down and ask him to go to the bookmarks toolbar, nothing happens. Someone at - it help him?

Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible:

  • Firefox menu button > Options
  • View > toolbars (press F10 to display a hidden menu bar)

Open the window customize to set the toolbar to display items:

  • Firefox menu button > Options
  • View > toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
  • Right click on empty toolbar space
  • Make sure the "bookmarks toolbar items" are on the personal bar
  • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the bookmarks toolbar, then FRY it in the toolbar palette in the window the bookmarks toolbar Customize
  • If the missing elements are in the toolbar palette then drag them from the window, customize the toolbar
  • If you do not see an item on a toolbar in the toolbar palette and then click the button "Restore default" to restore the default toolbar set up

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

If this does not work, maybe it's time to try refresh (called "Reset" in older versions of Firefox) which can resolve many issues by restoring Firefox as his default from factory and save your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose all the extensions, toolbar customizations, and certain preferences. See article Firefox Refresh - reset modules and parameters for more information.

    Refresh for Firefox:

    1. Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:

      • Click the menu button

        click Help

and select troubleshooting information. Should open a new tab containing your troubleshooting information.

      • If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
    2. At the top right of the page, you should see a button that says 'Refresh Firefox' ('reset Firefox' in older versions of Firefox). Click on it.
    3. Firefox closes. Once the update process is complete, Firefox will display a window with the imported information.
    4. Click Finish and reopen Firefox.

This corrects the problem? Please report to us!

    Thank you.

  • After the reinstall of any positions of Firefox or the bottom bar

After Firefox restarts the accident and tried Firefox screen was locked in the previous content without title rows or bottom line of Windows. Could only escape by CTL-ALT-DEL. tried Firefox update (using IE). Same result. Did uninstall Firefox and install. Same result. Help!

Hmm, Firefox should not block the taskbar, unless you are in full screen view. The F11 key toggles between the normal modes and full screen. Does make a difference?

If Firefox blocks the taskbar even in normal mode, it is possible that a settings file that stores the size of the window is corrupted. This parameter is difficult to change file, we generally recommend renaming and to create a new one with data size and position of window by default in Firefox. First open the settings file (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. The taskbar works normally again with Firefox?

If you show the menu bar or bookmarks toolbar, you can use one of the following methods to display the toolbar list and re-enable them:

    Success?

  • Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox window is sometimes "off screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt. You can delete this file and Firefox will return to standard window resizing.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the start search bar menu type or paste the following and press Enter to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

Then, to re - light bars, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:

To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.

  • A centered page moves when the scroll bar appears DW Cs5?

Hi everyone, I've noticed that when you have centered web pages, the pages annoyingly move when a scroll bar appears. Sometimes a page is longer than the browser window, and therefore a scroll bar appears on the right that allows the Viewer to scroll down.

But of course this looks like garbage, what happens is it so the page in the center of the space remaining after the scroll bar appears so jilts next page to another depending on whether the page has a scroll bar of the centres.

Y at - it Center a code that can make the browser page in the same place, so that the scroll bar feeds into space on the right side rather than shoot the entire page on the left. ?

Thanks a lot for any help

    Gareth

    This page IS the EXAMPLE.

You don't need to do anything except increase the size of the text (Ctrl +++) or resize the browser window to force a scroll bar.

(I guess you don't read description).

View source in your browser to see the code.

I threw this link to prove my previous point.  You cannot change the behavior of the browser without resorting to ugly things that don't work well in nature.

  • Impossible, drag a bookmark to horizontal bookmarksbar (space under the address bar)

In FF 18.0.2 there are 4 bars I can activate for use, by putting a tick in the respective option: 'menu, navigationbar, bookmarksbar, addonsbar bar. (I hope you don't mind the wrongspellings, I have FF in finninsh) When I check "bookmarksbar", it creates a horizontal blank space below the address bar. Isn't this space to quickly open frequently used pages, without the vertical bookmarsbar? Now, it seems that it is impossible to drag any bookmark to it addresses or the vertical bookmarksbar bar. There must be a reason for this horizontal blank space, but how do I use it? Or have I misunderstood this? I have searched for the solution, but have yet to see any question about it. A lot of other things about bookmarks, but not only this one. Or other person, except me, care about this thing, or so it works in other machines. Any help appreciated!

Go to firefox > bookmarks (or press ctrl + shift + B) to open the library. Here you can move bookmarks of the bookmarks toolbar in the Bookmarks menu or unsorted bookmarks (simply by dragging and dropping them in a different location).

  • Comes from Maxthon and want to be able to place a site tabs directly in already on bookmark in the bookmarks bar?

In Maxthon (Mx2.5.8), I am able to place files on a toolbar similar to FF7 bookmarks bar. These records may contain more bookmarks. For example, I have specific folders for specific web sites: folder for fishing web sites, etc. So, when I come across a fishing site and you want to save to the appropriate folder, I left click on the folder of fishing on the toolbar and in the dropdown menu is "add to this folder. So, to save the site, all I have to do is left click on 'add to this folder. In FF7 I' like to be able to do the csame thing. In other words, I already have imported and placed on the bookmarks bar FF my bookmark of Mx records and now I wish I had a way to place wanted to save themselves from web sites directly in his folder of bookmarks... appropriate ala Mx.

In Firefox, you can slide / ' drop to save a new bookmark in the bookmarks toolbar.

Drag the image to the site in the URL bar down to this folder and the folder should open, and then delete the bookmark where you want in this folder.

  • The tabs are on the top, how to place under the bookmarks bar?

Just set Mozilla to update to the beta 29,0. My browser has been configured as follows:

    File, editing, display etc. are first;
then there's "home" button and the address bar.
    then bookmarks bar;
    and finally the tabs.

Now the tabs are at the top of the address bar and I can't move it to the bottom. I tried to get: config with browser.tabs.on Top but it does simply not at all.

I use the default skin for Firefox and I have no visual Add ons.

Running every night and Aurora versions have an interface Australis which seems different from the user interface in current versions of Firefox.

You can install the extension Classic theme restaurateur to restore some lost features, including the tabs on top.

Have you run a check of places.sqlite as I posted above?

Yes, I did. I unfortunately did not work. The only thing that works so far is disabling iCloud and Sync and manually delete the bookmarks. The problem is that if I turn on Sync, files return

Change your password synchronization using a camera, which will wipe your data from the sync server and allow a fresh load data not corrupted since this device "cleaned." And run Places maintenance on each device before plugging it back in sync with the new password on each computer in your office / portable computer devices.

Works with Firefox 22.0 and later versions

I wonder if this extension is still compatible with current versions of Firefox?
Just a hunch, but since Firefox for iOS beta was released last summer, "we" seem to have had a "slight increase" the number of threads similar to this one - support describing the proliferation of bookmarks files that are not part of Firefox for desktop / laptop, but rather added by a "3rd party" or a mobile device.
I can't test it, as I don't have mobile device not (and if I did it would be Android or based filed). I get suspicious when an add-on that "mess" with a feature that is as sophisticated as the database of places and/or participates with Sync is that long without an update.

And considering that Sync 1.5 was part of the 29 of Firefox, I wonder how compatible iCloud bookmarks always support Firefox to Firefox 22 is with Firefox now-a-days. A bit of incompatibility or the corruption of data multiplied by Firefox by contacting the synchronization server whenever Firefox is started is not very far-fetched. And then synchronize re - corrupt Firefox once Firefox connects to Sync... See where I'm going?

I have 10 bookmarks on my bookmarks bar. After you have moved so that they are in the order I want them, I close firefox. When I reopen it firefox, bookmarks have been moved and are not in the order that I placed the.

Is it possible to lock their position on the bookmarks bar?

Bookmarks should remain where they are placed.
New entries should be at the end of the current.

  • Bookmarks appear on the Navigation bar

I had everything set up so that from the top down, I got the menu bar, then the navigation bar, then my favorites and the stumbleupon toolbar. Since Firefox itself randomly updated this morning, the navigation bar traded places with my bookmarks and bars to stumble and the Customize menu refuses to save my changes and essentially forcing me to put everything back where it belongs to every time I open Firefox.

I have not downloaded or installed everything recently and start in safe mode puts them in the right order, but then I've got tabs on top again and generally more problems than it fixed.

Try the userChrome.css I posted in this thread:

  • How to configure the bookmarks bar to view more than 4 bookmarks?

In Firefox to. 31.0, I can add multiple bookmarks to the bookmarks bar, but if I added more than four bookmarks on the toolbar and then close Firefox, the next time I open it it there are only four bookmarks in the toolbar. I've been a techie years so I tried everything I can think of including adding bookmarks different ways... by slip and fall and/or 'Bookmark this Page', click on add to the toolbar but still, I allowed four bookmarks in the toolbar after a reboot.
    Any suggestions?

Other bookmarks moved into the overflow area and appear in the drop-down list of chevron or moved from the bookmarks toolbar?

Today I updated to 31.0 30.0 FF, but he eventually change the placement of my toolbar items. Originally, I did ensure that bookmarks toolbar items were placed in the Navigation bar, as well as my icon options firefox 3-bar and bookmarks, download. But now, the bookmarks toolbar items is placed in the overflow chevron icon, as well as other elements of the toolbar (for example, downloading and the extension of Pocket icon).

Is there a way to prevent this behavior, or should I try to move everything to another toolbar?

Here are a few screenshots that describes my problem:

In the previous thread we found not somehow integrated to move the items in toolbar of bookmarks on another bar that worked. See: why 31 FF no longer displays my items in toolbar bookmarks in an another toolbar. Maybe someone can develop a custom style rule or any other hack to make it work.
