Impossible to reinstall Win 7 partition recovery on Inspiron N5110

I've read a lot of posts on this topic, but have had no success. I did this sort of thing for many years... very frustrated right now. This machine is a desktop of my church. Someone slammed the touchpad left click key and he stuck a couple of weeks, and so the machine would then be only beep repeatedly started and not finished to start because of the continuous key contact. I ordered a new set of rest-hands/touchpad and in the process made a recovery of data on the HARD drive to save the important things. HDD dx has this time showed no problems, and the recovery partition was there (btw... the N5110 is the biggest PITA I've never had to get on the HARD drive). In any case... the new palmrest cpl came this morning. I replaced it and then the operation seems normal in terms of keyboard, touchpad, etc and machine headed (no beeps) start, the machine will still not end a start-up or recharge it from the recovery partition. The operating system is Win 7 Home Premium. I did the following:

1 unplug the power, removed the battery and held the power for 30 seconds button to clear the BIOS.

2 reset the BIOS by default.

3. to run the Dell diagnostics, which took a while, but came back to each count.

4 tried 'Repair your computer' of F8; It displays the progress bar "Loading Windows files", and then briefly the Green Windows progress bar, then the screen goes black and the rest this way... forever.

5 tried to start in Safe Mode; shows the process of loading, but crashes before actually starting.

6 tried to boot normally. Watch "Starting Windows" and then hangs at the splash screen.

7. I had licensed instance has left on my Win 7 Ultimate full personal drive and tried a clean install of boot from the DVD. Basically, the same behavior as in #4.

8 tried Ctrl/F11 and got nothing.

I could use some comments here. Don't know what to try next, or if it is to beat the proverbial dead horse.

It has supported. I swapped the HARD drive, reformatted and did a clean install of my own DVD (I had one instance of license on the left) and it is now very much rework.  I had already replaced the rest-wrists/touchpad Assembly as I had mentioned earlier, etc. because of a damaged left click button; While the HARD drive tested OK via Dell full test and Win 7 chkdsk, data recovery programs include professional I use found problems with it. It seems that it was a problem caused by an update Avast or Win 7 from earlier in the month. If the Secretary of the Church had made its update because it is supposed to, the aswRvrt.sys question probably would not again surface and taken care of via normal update one more reason... to get people to do their updated when it should be done and not put it off.

Thank you for your attention.

  • Envy h8: after Windows 10 reset impossible to reinstall win tv software

I upgraded to windows 10 8.1 all on time and everything seemed fine. Then last week I found that several functions do not work on the PC. As Start button, Windows Store, some of the apps etc etc. Is not too worried but thought I'd reset after having read about it on the Microsoft Web site. Followed the instructions and kept my files but when the PC has finiished I found that all who have been with the PC or software I had installed had disappeared.

I've always had the installation disks for the software I have installed, but couldn't know how resinstall the software preinstalled, when I bought the PC. Most of it I don't mind, but I would really like to reinstall Win Tv7.

I remember vaguely seeing awhile back on the resettlement of the recovery partition software but can't seem to do it now and the HP website has only an update for Win TV for windows 8.

    Anyone got any ideas please?

    Gordonmac8

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the problems with Win TV and wanted to help - but we need more information.

We need the details of your PC product number.  There should be a sticker with this information on the case.

There is more than one model of your laptop, and we need the specific model number to search for information on this subject.

I personally found the updates of Win10 to be a mixed bag - a work very well, plus have problems, some fail miserably!

The only way to reinstall the HP software that is preinstalled on the PC is to use something known as HP recovery media.  It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

If you are interested in this approach, then let me know - and I'll see if the recovery media is available by using the product number of details of your PC.

As for versions of the software, unless the PC is delivered with Win10 preinstalled HP, even if there is a version Win10 of the HP software, he has no way to download and install it.  So, you would have the same problem.

We can proceed once you provide the information.

    Thank you

    Hello

Do you have created all the partitions on the HARD drive?
Obviously, the HARD drive or partitions on the HARD disk is corrupted.
In my opinion, that you should first format the whole HARD drive and also delete entire partitions.
Insert the recovery CD, and then try to install the image of Toshiba.

Oh, I forgot something; Check if the HARD drive is connected properly

  • Impossible to reinstall the OS from recovery CD

In recent months, my daughters Notebook has almost to the ground to stop, I did the usual defragmentation, virus scan, AdAware, Spybot etc and even turned off many startup files. So now she has brought from the University I backed up everyhting and thought I would start from scratch, reformat the drive and reload the software.

I put the disc in the hit 'C', in accordance with the instructions, it starts to load from the CD the % bar begins to show, and then it just stops. What I am doing wrong? I installed XP on a normal PC with OEM windows versions, but it looks the same, so I can only assume I'm doing something wrong.

Any advice would be much appreciated

    Thank you

    Hello

The Toshiba Recovery CD contains a ghost image file.
This is not the same thing as an another computer from different manufacturers OEM versions.

Usually the boot from the restore CD should start the installation procedure. You should see the window 2 modes. Standard and expert mode (with old recovery CD)

Hmmm try to format the HARD drive first and then delete the entire partitions.
To boot from the recovery CD, and then try again.

I hope that the HARD drive is ok and there is no hardware malfunction.
A question: have you tried to boot from another CD of Windows? It would be very interesting to know if the other run CD.

    These issues can be fixed.
Problem is that no one knows us for sure why it happened. I assume that there is a problem with the recovery image.

Do you use it for the first time?

  • Satellite 2HW C855: win 8-10GB recovery partition can be removed?

For my Satellite C855-2HW with Win 8 OEM, I would like to a partition to separate data in addition to the OS + programs.
At present 4 scores are already in use.
First 450MO partition recovery, the second a third EFI 260 MB, of the score of 920 GB operating system partition, and the fourth a 10 GB recovery partition.

Now that I've done of recovery with "Toshiba Media Recovery Creator" DVDs, I can remove the recovery partition right?
Can you only do this for an external support as with Diskpart or Gparted?

It takes to this partition for media files; Photos, documents, music, movies, etc.

What is the best way of all this?
    Cheers, boris.

    > Now that I did with 'Toshiba Media Recovery Creator' recovery DVDs, I can remove the recovery partition right?

Yes. After changing the structure of the partitions probably you won't be able to use the HARD drive recovery facility more. This was the case in the past. In any case, now you have recovery DVD and you can install the recovery using these DVD image.

    Hello

Don't need you to worry, by making use of the formatted partition recovery software you can easily recover files after formatting the hard disk partition. Few days back, I spent the same similar problem where in lost some important files due to the installation of the OS. Then I tried this recovery software which really helped me to recover files after the installation of the operating system. So, you can download this software by following the below mentioned links.

    Page link: www.recoverformattedpartition.com/file-recovery-after-formatting-during-os-re-installation.html

    Download link: www.recoverformattedpartition.com/.../recoverformattedpartition-windows.exe

It would be great to download the iso right from a link, if I was able to reinstall the operating system, without waiting for the drive.

Or if the iso of windows provided by windows 7 is good, and I will not lose my windows license, it is also a good option.

Or anything else that can do the reinstall on the right track.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome aboard!

I just checked and it works - you can purchase media recovery using the following URL from here > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dm4-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5145680/model/5171100

Price is 25 USD - 3 DVDs but the questions is that the system provides only U.S. addresses shipping. Since you're outside the States, this could be a problem.

I also checked that it is available on a 3rd party site that might be able to ship outside of the U.S.. > > http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-22105-windows-7-64b-recovery-kit-669481-001-for-hp-pavilion-entertainment-notebook-pc-model-number-dm4-2165dx.aspx

If you have HP recovery media, I suggest you contact HP support, explain the situation and see if they can ship the recovery media in the Hungary. You can check with the support of the Hungary > > http://www8.hp.com/hu/hu/contact-hp/phone-assist.html

Another option that will probably work now on the existing HARD drive:

Each HP computer that has Windows preinstalled comes with recovery partitions that can be used to reinstall Windows to factory default condition. It's called HP recovery process. If the partitions are still there and intact, they will do the trick for you and you will be able to recover now. Here's how to perform a recovery > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418#AbT3

Essentially - restart the computer and as soon as it starts booting keep hitting the Esc key (such as tap-tap-tap) to access the HP boot menu. Choose F11 - recovery and follow the on-screen instructions.  Backup your data before restoring.

In case you decide to replace the HARD drive with an SSDor a new one, then you can the previous image player and to transfer the image to the new free software like Clonezilla > > www.clonezilla.org

Please, let me know how it goes.

  • Reinstall Win XP without reformatting the hard disk

    Hello

Is it possible to reinstall Win XP on my Equium A60 without having to reformat the HD? The HD currently has only one partition.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Hello Mike

Unfortunately, it is not possible. If you use the whole HARD disk recovery disk will be formatted until the installation begins. If you want to preinstall unit with recovery disk to save all your data on external media such as external HARD drive or burn them on CD or DVD.

If you wish, you can create two partitions using the installation in expert mode.
