  I try to manually update Microsoft Security Essentials and it fails and says "Virus and spyware definitions: connection failed." Security Essentials could not complete the virus and spyware definitions update 08/27/2012, 14:04 because of a network connectivity or Internet problem. "I also tried to download the definitions manually in a file and installed, but there is no clear Security Essentials of the error. Windows Update will not work for updating the definitions either. I tried to disable the user account control, but that did not help.   2. what type of Internet connection do you have? Are you connected or wireless?

  3 did you a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

  I have a Mac on Mavericks (I need to use OS x 10.9 for compatibility reasons), and I am up to date with the latest version of the OS. I'm running 10.9.5 and the app store app shows there is no updates that I need to install.

  However, for some reason, my Safari is an old version: 7.0.3. I have another mac running the Mavericks and execution 9 Safari, so I'm sure I should have a new version of Safari. It's like my Safari is stuck on version 7 and does not update even if I have the latest OS updates. Any ideas on how to force Safari to upgrade to the latest version?

  I have a laptop that is running Windows Vista Service Pack 2 from Microsoft yet. I have not started the laptop for almost a year and I understand that the operating system is no longer supported. I'm just trying to get all the other updates carried forward after November 13, 2015. The update of Windows seems not to be able to get updates or is suspended. In the past when Windows XP support ended, I was still able to update the o/s to the last update available for the well type beyond a year after. I don't see why I can't still not updated for Windows Vista SP2.

  I need constructive responses to solve the problem and not the usual, "my computer is old and needs to be upgraded or replaced", remarks. I don't have the funds to keep the upgrade for the latest and best. The laptop, I always work and if I have funds or if I know that it can smoothly run Windows 10, I could upgrade the o/s.
