  I would like to hack the S10 to solve 2 problems:

  (1) put an adapter wide angle

• Problems to play the videos made with the Camileo S10

  Hi all

  I bought the s10 after Nice comments and demos, but unfortunately I can NOT PLAY THE VIDEOS I RECORDER!

  I tried so many players (SMPlayer, VLC, BSplayer, classic MP) I started thinking I have HW limits. image and its gel and the film is fragmented.
  What are you saying? someone encountered problems playing files S10? which player do you use? with what HW?

  Help, please! My son is getting older and I'm missing some really good scenes :-)

  why Don t you use the media player?
  You will find them on the supplied cd. This disc contains the manual and the software ArcSoft (Media Player and Media Converter).
  I use them and I have no problem to play my recorded films.
  Maybe a bios update can help you.

  I used a processor AMD 64 x 2 2.09 GHz, 3 GB of Ram, bios v2.60, Windows XP, SP2, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.

  I didn t find updates the firmware on page Toshiba unlike any new firmware has been released for the Camileo S10.

  But are you sure you used a proper procedure to remove the single movie?
  The user manual says:

  (1) use up/down to select the delete option
  (2) button press OK to get the Delete menu
  (3) use the left/right keys to select the movie
  (4) use button to delete all the films or the down button to remove the unique animation. OR the record/play button to exit
  (5) before the film is deleted, a confirmation screen will appear
  (6) button press OK to validate the setting

  Note: If a memory card is inserted, you can delete only the movies stored on the card
  Movies on a map written protected memory cannot be deleted!
  The function delete erases only unlocked movies. Locked movies must be released before it will be deleted!

• Camileo S10 freeze everytime I try to record videos

  I just bought the Camileo S10 and it does everything just for me. Everytime I try to record video, it freezes just straight up. All the buttons are non-functional, and the only way to turn it off, is to remove the battery!

  I tried it without any SD card in it, with a 4 GB Kingston and a Kingston 512 MB. Nothing works!

  Have you checked the Web from Toshiba site for an update of the firmware? If this is not the case to do this and install this update if it s is available.

  I put t see no reason why you can not use this camera in relation to the Mac.
  The SD card where are stored all the files (movies and pictures) can be removed and you can use it in the external that is connected to the Mac card reader.

  I used my Camileo S10 only for a few minutes. It has low battery display and is released automatically. After that, I curled the battery on the charger more then 12 hours.
  I put the battery, and now the Camileo S10 won't turn on.

  You can try different things.
  1. clean the battery contacts
  2. connect the device to the computer via the usb cable and try to turn it on
  3. charge the battery for a short time (about 10 minutes) and try again

  Hi I just bought a Camileo S10. I used the week last on my vacation and now I tried to connect it to my Apple with an OSX 10.5.6 system on it.
  I have a program of crossover on mac and I installed your ArcSoft software provided with the Camileo S10.
  Everything worked fine but when I connect the camera to the mac he does not see the camera. The computer does not see the camera, but it shows that there are present volumes. Even if I take the card our and place it in a card reader, it does not work. the card is full, but the content cannot be read.

  As much as I know the software/driver that comes with the Camileo camcorder is only compatible with Windows OS.
  If you use MAC OS, then you will not be able to install the software.

  My Camileo S10 was working fine for months with my 8 GB ScanDisk Ultra II memory card.
  Now, when I start the camera, it is very slow to start and operate (a few second delay for each operations).

  When I remove the card SD and trun on the camera, it works fine.

  For me, it looks like a problem with the SD card inserted.
  I think you should try to format the card CD and it should check again.
  If this will not help and you won't see a performance improvement you should replace the SD card and should try another.

  last week, I found my old camileo s10 that I him have not used for a year or two, so I guess the battery was completely dead and unusable.

  If the battery is OK, it should be possible to load.
  The camcorder must be decommissioned: flashing light confirms the load, but the light is constant when the load was over.

  In your case, it might be possible that the battery is defective and, therefore, it of not possible to load.

• Camileo S10 - record 16: 9 FULL HD

  I have the same problem with a friend * rodarko * ([m-169634]). I saw that his thread, but no one since now you have a solution. I will try to describe my exact problem.

  When I record in 16:9 full HD, everything looks ok. But when I try to play on my computer with Arcsoft drive, some files are read 16:9 and other 4:3 are played.

  I did a lot of tryies, but the only thing I found out, it's usually files that may not work on the 16:9 format, the first 5 I save. So, if I save 4 or 5 or 6 (I don't know why) the files, then the following files can be played on 16:9.
  This is not happens all the time. My camera is Camileo S10 and my Kingston 8 GB HC card (SD6 / 8GB).
  I do not wanter why TOSHIBA didn't find any solution and of course I do not wanter why they put the following message (this thread is locked - replies are not allowed). on the same response from the user rodarko!

  I am also a user of the S10. I've done 10 movies in Full HD and watched them then on my laptop.
  All movie files were held in the same format (4:3).
  I recorded in 'normal' and 'macro' - mode, with a SD and SDHC-card and there is no difference.
  I played the files with the player and Arcsoft with VLC Player and both played all files in 4:3.

  Were done, you've played your files? On the screen of a laptop or screen connected to the computer (DVI, VGA or HDMI)?
  Have you tried to read files with another player (VLC or something else)?

  I just got my Camileo S10 purchased from an online retailer.
  I chose the S10 because everywhere on the web, nobody said that it records. Files MOV, which is perfect for me because I'm ready to modify the records on my Mac with iMovie.

  First test: I have recorded a few clips on SD card and memory of the internet and watch them on my TV. High quality, nothing to say so far.
  I have then connect the S10 to my Mac using the USB cable and discover that all the files are. AVI and not. MOV, as all the world seems to have.

  It plays fine with VLC, but iMovie does not recognize one of these files.
  I don't want to convert AVI to MOV, because it is a gift for my wife and she wants something simple.

  I downloaded the manual for this camcorder S10 and the page 42 says that the camcorder support these file formats:
  Photo: JPG
  * Movie: MOV *.

  It seems that the MOV format is supported
  Maybe you should check all the settings!
