  I have recently upgraded to version 4.1 ESXi 4.1 U3 of VC2.5 ESX 3 vCenter Essentials - I decided to make my new vCenter server a VM - everything went well on the upgrade so I am now looking to do work on my storage system (EMC Celerra). I have virtually no space on my LUN and my CIFS shares are increasingly full also... However I have a file inside the EMC system which is 6 to size which houses a 200 GB LUN - it's the logic unit number that contains my VM vCenter. What I want to do is... move this vCenter VM off this LUN to local storage, reassign 6 TB to the pool file system and extend the 3 TB CIFS file system and then present the rest of the space as LUNS for VMware. My problem is that I'm not licensed for storage vMotion and they only way I can storage vMotion, VM off the coast of this LUN is to stop it and move it but because it's my vCenter Server I can perform this action by the customer.

  I guess I might need to drill holes in the host using putty to move the vmdk file, but I'm looking for any useful measure to enable me to move this virtual machine.

  If you are not allowed to Storage vMotion, then you can watch using VMware Converter and do a V2V.  Once the VM vCenter has been "copied" in the new destination LUN, it works, make sure that everything is right, then delete the 'old' vCenter VM disk.

• Saving PDFs: I would like to be able to change the name of the file and the destination of the downloads without jumping through hoops.

  I download a lot of PDF files and I organize their file name. I want to record on my computer to read later. When I have a PDF document is opened in the browser, it's particularly embarrassing. As it is, I have two options:

  Save the file:
  This automatically sends the file to a temporary folder to download, which Windows will not let me access without memorizing the exact location. It also saves automatically under the default file name, I never keep. If I use this option, I have to go back and manually move the file in my documents and rename it.

  Open the file:
  This opens the file in a new window from Adobe (while simultaneously recording to the same temporary folder). I have to open the file in the browser, and then open it in a new window, then hit save slot, then PDF, then change the destination folder (because the default value is the temp folder) and name of the file.

  Please, give me manual control of downloads! I want just a save as option.

  Is it possible to right click on the download link and use Save Link as...?
  Who will have the choice of "off-site" hands of Adobe.

  I had to move the folder my projects in Adobe Captivate to Dropbox, as I will be away from home for a bit. I needed to be able to access the files while there.

  I have Captivate just put them there for a second backup off site, in addition to my Time Capsule. I have an alias in the Documents, but it doesn't seem to work.

  Not in Captivate, I'm afraid. Activation of the backup feature creates a file .cptx in doubles, with the .bak extension added to the same place as your Captivate project file.

  Also (I don't know if the behavior of the box under El Capitan it will trigger) but If it is mounted as a volume on the desktop - you can use Carbon Copy Cloner to set up a scheduled task that runs when DropBox connects and copy the files of Captivate recently changed on DropBox.

  One way would be to download the HRSSA workflow in a wft file (using the WFLOAD - see MOS Doc 578248.1), and then comparing this downloaded file wft with the two files, you have (using a utility such as diff on Unix). The comparison that reported no difference will identify the wft which is uploaded into the database.

  I'll take a host down for maintenance, I have a replica on this host.   I need to move that line off the coast of the host?  If so, how?  It looks like the power off replica can not be moved.

  I guess only the file replica on the data store is referenced and I can be propelled out of the host of some sort and have no impact for users.  This hypothesis is correct?  Or I have to move the replica some how?

  You can move this replica by choosing the move off the power option invited when placing the host in maintenance mode.

  Search for IP addresses on two VMs.

  IP address of cluster name

  Public NIC IP addresses and subnet

  Private NIC IP addresses and the subnet (Heartbeat)

  Also fix this problem, disable Heartbeat NIC on two VMS and select heartbeat communication with the public LAN option in MSCS. This helps to isolate the problem.

• Disconnection of the VCenter ESX host

  Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.  I have an installation of VMWare VCenter and 4.1 ESX servers.  Periodically, one of my ESX hosts will lose just login to the VCenter server and I need to re-add.  The host still pings, does not actually lose network connectivity or I receive an alert.  I've been searching newspapers with no luck yet.  Any help would be appreciated.

  Hi, I need to build 4-6 ESX hosts are configured identically. (Same groups of ports, NTP settings etc..) All hosts will use the same brand/model/hardware configuration)

  I think kickstart server and a load of scripts PowerCLI would be the best way to do this, but I don't him did not before.

  Can you recommend the best way to do that, or no matter what links?

  Are kickstarts way to go.  However, if you have business + licenses you can use the profiles of the host.

I get the error:

  I want to copy the RAW files of my SD dsra on my hard drive Drobo. And every time I did that Lightroom has copied BOTH raw and jpeg files

  How to load Lightroom to copy only the RAW files?

  Just a little disgress, actually the same problem happens in Adobe Bridge despite me by selecting only the RAW files to copy, but it always copied both!

  Any tips?

  You can tell Lightroom to qualify alongside jpg FIRST separate photos, or treat the JPG as a file by following the instructions here:

  If the JPG file is a sidecar, the JPG is always imported but is not displayed in your library module.
