in windows 7 How to set a window of "stay on top"?

I want to have the apps to say 1-2 in the foreground who don't go away unless I close them and the rest in the background - applications like IE or Word or GIMP is my scenario.

Is there an option "prominent"?
Y at - it an option of "locking in the front?

Thank you

Hello

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community
In IE and MS office cannot be considered always on TOP. There is no such command or option has been added, Windows does not provide a native function for this task
But some of the player like WMP, VLC, this option will be available that you can bring to the front always
However the third-party software can do that::Example-
OnTopReplica

OnTopReplica uses the Office DWM Composition in Windows Vista and Windows 7 to clone a window and run it in a small thumbnail that always stays on top. It is perfect for keeping only the video image of a VCR on top. OnTopReplica requires .NET Framework 2.0 and a theme of Windows Aero.
