  Create a file association.

  1. download and save the attachment to the office.
  2. right click on the saved file.
  3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
  4. click on: choose [default] program.
  5. Select: (Whatever you have installed a PDF reader).
  6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
  7. click on OK.

  This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

  If the PS says that the files no longer exist, you probably renamed, moved or deleted.

  Use your operating system (Win Explorer or Mac finder) to watch your Dropbox folder and veryfy that the files are there.

  Try to use Ctrl + B to activate so hidden menu bar, and then use Edit > Preferences > reading and look at the entry for Play Audio to help. This should normally be set to Sound live or Session Windows Audio. Change to the other setting can sometimes help.

  Otherwise see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates, tear down everything and reinstall.

  Pictures are grayed out and exclamation mark means that you re - connect the photos in Lightroom.

  It is immaterial that the pictures can be opened in PS. Links in Lightroom are broken and must be fixed.

• My Windows Media Player will play the video of an MPG file, but it will not play the sound. What is the cause?

  I do video editing.  I transferred my camera video file and Windows Media Player played the video and audio very well at the beginning.  I edited the file with editing software and exported the file again.  Now, the sound will not play using WMP but it will play if I use video editing software.

  (a) don't you get any specific error message when you play the video?

  (b) what is the file format of the resulting video file after editing by using the video editing software?

  (c) you are able to play the files on the computer? You hear the sound?

  I suggest you try the following steps:

  O make sure that windows MediaPlayer is not muted, press F7 on the keyboard to turn the sound back on.

  Ø check if the volume is at a minimum in Media Player, press F9 on the keyboard to increase the volume.

  Verify that the default audio device is correctly set

  1. click on start, type Sound in the box to start the search.

  2. click on sound in the results of search at the top of the start menu.

  3. click on the tab reading notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is speakers. Make sure that the audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:

  4. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, close this window to return to the previous window.

  5. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click on configure and make sure that the configurations are set correctly.

  6. If the sound settings are well positioned, you are using speakers as the audio device and your speakers are already set as the default device, go to method 5 now.

  7. Select the audio device you want as the default audio device and then click on set as default.

  8. click OK to save your settings and close the sound dialog box.

  Now, check if the problem is resolved.

• files ghosts that won't play

  I downloaded a number of songs in my HP PC and my MacBook Air to my Sansa Clip.  When I listen to my Sansa Clip, I sometimes just play the "recently added" those and listen to them in alphabetical order.  There are a number of songs (currently 22 of them) then quickly (and only momentarily) cycle on the screen but will not play, and I can't stop the flow and play one of them. When the Sansa Clip comes to number 23, he plays the song and behaves normally on the rest of the entire songs "recently added".  Each of these ghosts files starts with a point, then underscore, followed by a two digit number, then the title of a song.  For example, "._03 Evileen Atlanta Rhythm Section".  When I connect the Sansa Clip to computers and look at the files it contains, do not show these ghosts files.  Does anyone have an idea what causes this?    All the world experienced?

  You will probably be able to find a free utility program. Be careful that it comes from a reliable source, so that it does not contain viruses.

  Another option is to transfer the files (or folders of files) from the mac to a folder on your pc using a USB key, configure windows to display hidden files, and then manually delete the index files. Then you can connect the player to your pc and copy these files.

• Downloads of Firefox 4.01 files but windows gray downloads on the 'open' and 'Open containing folder' options and I cannot trace files

  Three days ago, that I've upgraded to Firefox 4.01. I downloaded several files that were ok. Yesterday and today I downloaded a powerpoint file and a file *.dmg to apple.

  If these entries are grayed out, then it means that the files are no longer in the original download location. If you don't remove them then anti-virus software or cleaning may have deleted their.

  Try the following.

  First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your desktop.

  http://download.Macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/Current/uninstall_flash_player.exe

  Once the download is complete, close all browser windows and start the program uninstaller.  Once done, restart the laptop.

  Then, download and install Firefox , then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.

  Close all browser windows before you run the installer of Flash.

  Start Firefox and see if the video play Ok - if they do, close Firefox, open IE and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a command prompt to install the ActiveX component.  Once completed, restart IE.

• I have two computers in Windows 7 which will not each other on my network. All other computers will see and can share files, but they connect between them.

  My HP laptop has installed Win7 Ult, the Fujitus Win7 Pro.

  Both computers were sharing the files back, outside a residential group, for a period of time. One day, they are stopped. No changes have been made to computers. I tried a restore of the system on each of them, and it did not help. I re windows loaded on the HP and that did not help. I don't think that it is only a permission of the questions that I used a windows machine 7 third to map actions to each of the individual laptops using their respective IDs. I can transfer files from one of them the "machine in the middle", then the action of the other, or as a copy/paste between them directly.

  WSD and NetBT will not solve one machine for others, but all other computers on the network will dispay on each machine. Only, they refuse to see each other. I have disabled the firewall. Password protected sharing, ensured that all netbios in the registry settings are correct. Pings between them are inaccessible returnded.

  Any help would be appreciated.
