  This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

  Step 1

  The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

  While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal.   After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

  * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

  Step 2

  Test in safe mode. Same problem?

  After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.

  Am I missing something? I'm not able to find the text Message Forwarding since I updated my iPhone to iOS 10.0.1 6 and my MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end 2013) for MacOS Sierra 10.12.

  Noticed that with iPhone5 set to silent, vibration-free wanted me text messages alerts.

  tried the reset and still nothing

  tried next series/top of another iPhone 5 which worked well...

  But still not vibrating while on silence, for text messages...

  very strange only texts have been affected

  Go to settings > sounds and make sure that this vibration on silent is set on "on".

  I think that the problem is only with screen drawing, not 'hide' messages. If you have a Mac or other iDevices, you can check your Messages there.

  Try these standard troubleshooting steps.

  Reset: hold the Home and Power buttons until you see the Apple logo (10 to 20 seconds).

  Press and hold home/sleep set button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone start up.

  Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I know have a problem with a tone alert on your iPhone, it's not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you may not use or play a ringtone on your iPhone that worked in the past, and the same file in iTunes still works. Good news is that you should be able to use iTunes to fix this.

  First, connect your iPhone to iTunes on your computer. Then use the synchronization options to remove this alert sounds on your iPhone by unchecking the box next to it. Click on the button apply, then confirm that the tone is deleted from your iPhone once the synchronization is complete. Once the tone is removed then it re - sync from iTunes on your iPhone and try it again on your iPhone.
