I continue to receive alerts text on Apple Watch while SMS on iphone

I'm having a problem with my Apple Watch.  I continue to receive notifications of text on my watch while SMS on my Iphone 6plus.  My husband doesn't have this problem with his iphone 6s and Apple Watch.  Can someone help with this annoying problem?

Hello

Make sure the wrist detection is open: on your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > detection of wrist - turn on.

Also, make sure you wear your watch sufficiently snug on top of your wrist (if it is worn too loosely, your watch may believe that he had been removed from your wrist):

    Hello

Apple Watch does not currently offer them alerts audible or haptic if it is taken out of the reach of the paired iPhone Bluetooth. When devices are disconnected via Bluetooth, if the watch is also impossible to connect to a Wi - Fi network, known at that time, it will display the icon disconnected at the top of the face of the Watch:

However, you can find this application useful third party:

  • How can I turn off Apple Watch while charging?

I cannot use the "Turn off" or "power reserve" during charge. These options are grayed out, until I have unplug the charger.  I usually turn off my iPhone everything to expedite the process, and I would do the same thing for my Apple Watch.

It is totally intuitive that it works this way, and there should be at LEAST the text at the bottom according to the screen 'options disabled while loading '.

That said, there is a work around that? Or what I have to disconnect the watch, it turned off, and then plug it into the charger?

  • I was able to receive and send text messages (NOT iMessage) from my Apple Watch, even if I had left my phone at work, 10 miles away.  How is that possible?

My phone does not connect to a WiFi to work because it's a restricted network.  I have a macbook and an ipad at home, but the iPad died (battery) and my macbook had power, but had fallen asleep.  I don't understand.  Think my phone has to be in my bag if I was getting texts, but he found in my office this morning.  Is my watch somehow 'work' through my macbook ASLEEP?

    Hello

Subject to your carrier supporting the appeal of Wi - Fi and function has been activated on your iPhone, Wi - Fi calling can be used to make and receive phone calls as well as - when supported by the carrier - for text messaging / SMS over Wi - Fi.

When the Wi - Fi is enabled on your iPhone, the service is also available via Apple Watch, even when it is connected to a known Wi - Fi network and the pair iPhone is not available.

In the United States, for example, both AT & T and T-Mobile currently support send and receive SMS via Wi - Fi calling.

    More information:

  • Unable to receive calls from Apple Watch, using WIFI AT & T calls, when the iPhone is turned on, turned off or in Airplane Mode.

I work on this issue and wanted to involve the community.

I have tests the functionality Apple Watch and have been unable to solve my problems with WIFI call. I use the AT & T and I am connect to the strip of the 5 GHz on my router Xfinity.

I am able to make/receive calls from my iPad and Mac laptop when iPhone is off / Mode plane; However, this feature does not work on the watch. I can make and receive calls from the watch when the phone is turned on.

Another problem is that I am not able to send and receive messages (blue or green bubble) of the watch - once again when the phone is turned off or in flight Mode

If your Apple Watch is in range of a Wi - Fi network that the iPhone is connected to before, you can always do the following (even if the iPhone is off):

    • Send and receive digital messages Touch
    • Send and receive messages using Messages
    • Make and receive phone calls (if you have active calls, Wi - Fi, and you are within range of a Wi - Fi connected to your iPhone before)
    • Check current weather conditions
    • Track your inventory

Make calls via Wi - Fi

If your cellular operator offers Wi - Fi calls, you can use Apple Watch to make and receive calls over Wi - Fi instead of cellular network - even when your pair iPhone isn't with you or is disabled. Apple Watch comes to be in range of a Wi - Fi network that is connected to your iPhone in the past.

To see if your carrier offers Wi - Fi calls, see the article Apple Support phone with Wi-Fi calls, then enable the calls on your iPhone and Apple Watch Wi - Fi.

Note: You can make emergency calls via Wi - Fi, but when possible, use rather iPhone over a cellular connection - your location information will be more specific.

Enable on iPhone Wi - Fi calls. On iPhone, go to settings > phone and turn on Wi - Fi calling and application to other devices.

Enable calls on Apple Watch Wi - Fi. Open the Apple Watch app on iPhone, tap My Watch, tap phone, then turn on Wi - Fi calls. If you do not see the parameter, make sure that you have activated calls on iPhone Wi - Fi.

Answer please if you are able to perform any of these functions! And any troubleshooting you can think!

    Hello

These features are not available because Apple Watch cannot connect to a network of GHz Wi - Fi 5.

If your watch is not connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, but lying in a 2.4 GHz Wi - Fi network your iPhone plugged in before, the watch can connect to this network and you can continue to use certain features, including Wi - Fi calls (when it is supported by your operator, you already have in place).

    Hello

Remember that how behave notifications based on the parameters and the status of your devices. With wrist detection enabled, in order to get notifications to your attention as soon as possible:

-If your iPhone is unlocked, you will receive notifications on your iPhone instead of on your watch.

-If your iPhone is locked or mode and your watch is unlocked (regardless of the question of whether the screen saver is awake or asleep) and on your wrist, you will receive notifications on your watch.

-If your watch is locked or allowed to do not disturb, notifications will be sent to your iPhone.

    Hello

To adjust the speaker volume during phone calls on Apple Watch, turn the digital Crown while the call or press the symbols of volume on the screen.

If it works as planned, it can help to restart your iPhone and your watch. Turn on both devices off the power together first, and then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch:

    -To switch off your watch: press and hold the button side until you see the cursor off the power; slide it to turn off;

-To switch on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

    Hello

    Check the following settings:

-On your iPhone, in the application of Eve, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > wrist Detection - turn on.

-On your iPhone, in the application of Eve, go to: Watch My > General > screen Wake > Wake screen on wrist lift - switch on.

With the watch on your wrist and (if you have the password activated) unlocked, to read a new notification Messages in their entirety, you can then either:

    -Hold your wrist immediately at the front desk (you will see a summary) and Dungeon he triggered a few seconds (it will then open in its entirety), or;

-Tap a notification registered within the Notification Center.

  • IPhone requires data to use Apple Watch

My wife does not require the use of the data, but she would like to get an iphone and a Apple Watch, will work to watch if she gets only a plan and texting.  I guess some functions require access later and I hope that the WiFi would be nice.

    Hi Scott

Some of the features and services Apple Watch that can be used to involve the use of cellular data or Wi - Fi internet access.

Whenever possible, Apple Watch relies on its Bluetooth connection with paired iPhone. When it provides certain features and services through the watch, the iPhone can use mobile data / mobile or Wi - Fi. Apple Watch has no cellular function, can not use cellular data otherwise than through the iPhone.

Apple Watch offers a number of features when paired iPhone is either unavailable (e.g. disabled) or not in the Bluetooth range:

    • Play music from a playlist that has been synced to Apple Watch.
    • Use the watch for the time, as well as alarms, stopwatches and the clock.
    • Keep track of your activity (Stand, Move, exercise) with the application of the activity.
    • Follow the workouts with the application of the workout.
    • View photos of the synced photo album.
    • Use Apple pay for shopping.

If the watch is not connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, but it is within range of a wireless (2.4 GHz) your iPhone plugged in before, the watch can connect to the network and you can also still:

    • Send and receive messages using iMessage.
    • Send and receive digital messages Touch.
    • Use Siri.
    • Make and receive phone calls if you have calls enabled Wi - Fi (depending on your operator).
