My printer is a hp deskjet d1668 printer...

I have a Windows 8.1 Operating System (OS).

When I connect my printer to my computer, the printer software displays the message "Incompatible cartridges inserted". When I check the details it shows "Hp deskjet Printer. So, what should I do...  I tried to reinstall the software, but the problem persists... The cartridges are new cartridge original hp that work perfectly on another printer even... What should I do now...

Hello Math_Ka_Use,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have the HP Deskjet D1668, on your computer Windows 8.1 it indicates that the cartridges are "incompatible cartridge".

I have local this document from HP: "problem cartridge (s)", or "Incompatible cartridge" Message appears on the computer running Windows for you.

I hope this helps to clear the error.

  • Incompatible print cartridge error C309g.

Incompatible print cartridge error C309g. When replacing foul 564 XL (black), now I get this message. The new cartridge works in another printer that uses 564 XL. Went ahead and tried another brand new 564 XL - same message. Have turned printer on and outside. Is there a way to reoot, clean or otherwise set the printer before assuming it's really broken? Other suggestions?

UPDATE: this has been resolved with a hard reset. I found how to do this in another post (thanks bassergitz!). How to do a hard reset or 'dirty power up': when the printer is on, pull on the power cord to the printer and the wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to the wall and printer. It will take several minutes to initialize.

  • What does incompatible cartridges?

    HP Photosmart 4480 CA

    incompatible ink cartridges

This means that the printer has the incorrect ink inserted. This printer, if the United States should take cartridges black 74 and 75 Tri-color, as shown here in this link.

Otherwise, if it's the ink that is used, then this is an error message which shows may be due to dirty contacts or other reasons and can be addressed with this document here. It is a rejection cartridge error document that proposes solutions that are designed to fix the incompatible error message you get. I hope this helps.

  • Incompatible cartridge (HP Photosmart C4480)

I don't have the luxury of wasting my time here, I'm supposed to write an article for an academic journal, but let's do it anyway. because I'm pretty annoyed for this give actually the few minutes that I let myself before another staff meeting.

A week ago, my printer (HP Photosmart C4480, almost a year now) began to give me the message that my cartridge is incompatible. The cartridge has been about a month or two old that I think, and I printed with her until he was about ¾ of his initial resistance. I followed all the steps troubleshooting gave me; reset, cleaning, I even had my old cartridge rest to see if this one has worked and that he could solve the problem (it worked, one that came with the printer, but it does not solve the problem). Apart from the replacement of the cartridge or get a new printer, it is not a way to solve this problem.

But get a new cartridge doesn't just prolong the problem without actually solving. Now, it has become more obvious to me that there is a general problem of HP printer with error message "incompatible cartridge". This forum alone shows many examples unresolved for anyone who cares to look for them for a few seconds. The result is that people simply buy or request for new cartridges, and then, either immediately or after a certain while, the error recurs.

It was an a little more vital product, like say a car, it must be recalled. If you take a look at the Amazon comments, they have been regularly in downhill, becoming more and more negative, the way a few months ago. I don't know if it's a software thing you guys has changed, or if your hardware or cartridges are doomed to failure. Maybe you send a bad batch of cartridges, but that would not explain why recurring popular printers fail with the same message.

I am currently waiting for a response to a request for assistance. As I shine since other posts about this problem, you can not give a) an explanation of this debacle, b) a solution that does not involve the purchase of new cartridges to replace a cartridge that was perfectly fine before mounting them in your cartridge deathtraps. If there is anything that can be done does not mean to ignore the problem, spending more money on more product failure, but actually goes one way to solve the problem, I have he would hear gladly.

OK laddie and gentlemen listen hear is how to fix this error message "incompatible cartridge" boring.

I have a new HP Officejet 7610 - less than 2 months old. It has been working fine until today when the magenta cartridge supplied with the printer is empty.  The printer told me to replace, that I did with a new HP ink cartridge. As he tried to reset, accepted the cartridge, it gave me an error message:

"One or more cartridges appear to be damaged." and poster cyan and yellow. The two who are aged less than 2 weeks and new HP cartridges themselves.

So, I replaced both cartridges with two new HP ink cartridges. I keep getting the same message.

  • Incompatible cartridges; printer purchased abroad

I bought my Photosmart 4783 in Russia C. I bought new cartridges here in Holland, 300 black and color-3 300 but although they be perefectly the printer says they are incompatible. The cartridges that were in the printer have been black en 121 121 and 3 colors.  Is there a solution

one) to make new cartridges to adapt

    (b) to purchase cartridges fitting in Holland or in Europe?

Or what I have to buy a new printer, and a little shame.

    Hello

Since you have a printer that was purchased from another region and the cartridges are another region, printer gives me an error under the incompatible cartridge.

Please call HP in Holland and inform on the issue which will be able to reset the printer to the region where you are now.

Avoid all fees for this, since the cartridges are under warranty (assuming that the cartridge genuine HP cartridges).

  • Cartridge error: cartridge on right must be replaced.

HP Officejet 6300, Windows XP, cartridge error: cartridge on right must be replaced.

I got this error message on the printer from my wife everything last, so I it network in my HP Photosmart C7100 to keep her going. After of course replace the cartridge of the printer on the right (black ink), he worked for a week, then started again the error message. I just searched the net for a solution and found the following amazing revelation

    http://www.brokenmind.co.UK/2009/05/22/cartridge-error-cartridge-on-right-must-be-replaced/

I tried the reset solution option I found there, but it did not work. After searching around this forum, I hit on the idea of return to the old cartridge because I was convinced it was ink stay there, if I had kept. Hop, after a restructuring process, the printer is ready for action again.

This may or may not be a definitive solution. Who knows what next week will bring, but if someone has something to contribute on this error message, I would have.

The company that provided this cartridge not HP acknowledged that there is a bad reading on the chip and asked that I'm going through their reset process, i.e. to remove the cartridges, remove the power cable from the printer and leave it powered off for 10 minutes. Then reconnect and replace the cartridges again. It works no more.

The company indicated they now replace the cartridge of the free and return to the old one so they can inspect further. It's too good service from them. From this, we know now there is a fault with chips on the cartridges from a source of the problem. Of course HP could also say to use the original cartridges and you don't have the problem at all, or at least the cartridge is certainly out of ink and needs to be replaced.

  • HP officejet 7580 print cartridge error message

I have a HP officejet printer 7580 all-in-one with the error message "the following ink cartridges appear to be missing or damaged. Magenta (M) "I followed the instructions on the HP site troubleshooting, first changing the magenta cartridge, clean the electrical contacts on the print head, then replace the printhead and I still get the same error message.» I then removed the cartridge yellow and still only had the same error message about the magenta cartridge, even after restarting the printer. In my view, that it must be a problem with the software or the chip of the computer on the printer itself. Someone at - it suggestions for me?

Looks like you did a lot of troubleshooting for the cartridge error number.  The areas of print head and cartridge are separated in the OJ series L7580 printer, so the effect print head not this error.  The error comes from the electrical contact with the cartridge in question, appears magenta of the post.

Follow the steps described in the document, found here, to solve the problem and determine if the error comes from the cartridge or the electrical system internal printer.

    I hope this helps.
