increase the counter timebase pcie 6259

Hello

Im trying to perform 2 two edge measures 2 TTL signals separation using pcie 6259. I get an error msg 200140 ' 2 active edges consecutive input signals occurred without an edge timebase counter. " Use a faster counter time base. Ive tried to change the basis of counter time through the DAQmx channel nodes but my card is limited to a mx of 80 Mhz.

Are there ways around that?

Hi the polar bear,

Ive tried steve's idea to generate the PWM and it feeds my ctr and it works fine. If the problem was with my coupled signal with voltage comparator... you think you genius!

Thanks heaps for your help.

    Hello

    On Windows 7,.

  • If I use a few channels on PCI-6259 to increase the sampling rate, channels numbers can I be contiguous?

We are looking to buy a card PCI-6259 usable on a Linux machine. We would use NIDAQmx to access the card. If we were to use only a few channels to increase the sampling rate, do I need to select specific channels?

For example, the card is 1 MHz. If I select the channel 1 and channel 2, I can taste each channel at 500 KHz. could I choose 8 channel and channel 13 and still be able to sample each channel to 500KHz? Or need of specific channels to use when a subset of channels are selected?

  • count digital events on a counter with pci-6602 with reminder on the CVI

    Hello

I use a card PCI-6602 with CVI 8.5 and I need trig on the event.

On each pulse, I received, I need to do some actions like increasing a counter, send a message to Rs232 etc... I want to do no loop by checking that the value of the counter has changed. I would use a reminder to run this code only on the value of edge or a counter event.

My problem is that I don't know what function for this. Is it possible to get an event on a pci-6602?

  • Tiara dac combined with the NI PCIe-6259 does not send the data

    Hello

    I have a card OR PCIe-6259 & DIAdem 11.2.0 (version 2010) on a windows 7 PC.

Inputs outputs & analog analog + digital are configured in MAX 9.8.0f0. (Global virtual channels)

When I run a dac, entered analog works perfectly.

Outputs analog and digital does not work. Only one of the four analog outputs give the value that has been send.

In the past, I had the same problems with this version of DIAdem in combination with a third party USB card, but this has been resolved by the new firmware & software drivers.

Someone who has had similar problems?

    Thank you.

After trying many things, I finally found the solution.

  • Card PCI-6259 is compatible with the Dell Precision 390?

    Hi all

I need help in answering this question.  I want to buy a better computer for my data PCI-6259 acquisition card.  I tried to search to see if the card is compatible with the PC and there's previous numbers with this set-up before other users.  Do you have a link to the list of the DAQ cards with tested PC configurations?  I want to just make sure that when I buy the computer, everything will work without problem because I only have one shot at this.

    Thanks to all in advance.

    Kind regards

    Hello

We do not have a link to specific DAQ board/PC pairings, but the specifications for the Dell Precision 360 indicate that she has three ports PCI 5V which must be compatible with your PCI-6259.

  • To increase the flow of a Basler Cameralink Camera (A504K) with a capture card PCIE-1429 card

    Hello

I use a monochrome camera of Cameralink Basler A504K-resolution 1280 x 1024 with a capture card PCIE-1429 (x 4 slots) card. The image acquisition is controlled by MAX of LabVIEW version 11.0.1. The problem is that when I try to reduce the number of lines (specifically height) 1024-32 (for example) in the window of acquisition (from MAX), the frame rate of the camera is expected to increase to almost 16, 000fps. But it does not go beyond 248fps. Can you suggest me, why is he so past, or how to increase his pace? In addition, under the image window has appeared has something like: 1 X 8-bit 1280 x 32 9 image. That 1 X means here? For your reference, I am also attaching the image of the purchase window.

    Thank you!

    Hi Római,

Change the height of your image in MAX will not increase the rate of your acquisition - the camera always sends the same number of lines per image, you said just the software to stop their playing earlier.  The following image still occurs until the next edge FVAL.

1 x at the bottom tells you view the image at 1 x magnification.  In MAX, you can zoom in and out, and this indicator lets you know your current zoom level.

  • "Data was overwritten before it can be read by the system" count with PCI 6601 with 20 MHz clock

    Hello Aditi

What exactly is the purpose of the use of the clock of 20 MHz?  You count the edges of it?

You can try to use the VI DAQmx Configure entry 'buffer' to increase the size of your buffer.  You can also use the DAQmx channel node to set the DMA data transfer mechanism.  If you create a channel node, you can get to this specific property through this path: counter of entry: general properties: learn more: Advancedata transfer and memoryata transfer good mechanism.

  • Function DAQmxRegisterEveryNSamplesEvent can be used for the counter input channels

    Hi all

I have a request to count the number of digital pulses. I want to know the time of impulses coming which start from 1 and an increase in later, 4 as 1, 5, 9, 13... The time interval between each pulse is not a fixed value. So I tried to use DAQmxRegisterEveryNSamplesEvent and DAQmxCreateCICountEdgesChan functions. But afterI calls the DAQmxStartTask function, it has always failed.  The advice that I used is the NOR-PCIe-6320. Here's the part of my code.

    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateTask("",&m_taskhandle));
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateCICountEdgesChan (m_taskhandle, "Dev1/ctr0", "", DAQmx_Val_Rising, 0, DAQmx_Val_CountUp "));
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxRegisterEveryNSamplesEvent (m_taskhandle, DAQmx_Val_Acquired_Into_Buffer, 4, 0, EveryNSamplesCallback, this));
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxStartTask (m_taskhandle));

I don't know the reason. Can someone give me help. Thank you.

    Yang

DAQmxRegisterEveryNSamplesEvent only works with the buffered in memory tasks.  That's what you should do anyway (if you want to use the callback or not):

    1. make your external signal the sample clock (DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming).

    2. use one of the basics of internal time as the source (DAQmxSetCICountEdgesTerm).

Each sample you read will give the count in ticks of the time base.  Multiply the number by the base of your time period and you now have a timestamp.  Keep in mind the counter roll to 2 ^ 32 therefore account for this in your program.

The recall is not necessary, but it is useful that you can make sure that you block your main thread until the samples are available.

  • How to reset the counter of DAQ

I have a system such as X coordinates and Y and in moving my counter will increase, but when the system arrives in the precise coordinates, it must reset the counter (equal zero) that this will be the zero point.

  • How to increase the resolution of the timer loop?

    Hi all

I use myRIO 1900 for my project of Active noise cancellation. I need to process the audio signal @44. rate of 1 kHz sampling and 50 samples per image. So, I use myRIO personality of broadband.

Now my problem is simple, I want to measure the time each iteration (loop). I went for the number of cycles normal (msec). Used as a standard [https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11078].

But my value of the indicator oscillates between 1 and 2. It is supposed to be 1.13msec, but how to find the exact value of timer?

I think, I can't increase the resolution of tick count (msec) as it is by default is 1 ms resolution and I can't use the clock source external I use myRIO.

Help me calculate the precise time of loop.

    Thank you.

RT has express VIs for timers.  You can use this: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvexpress/tick_count/

  • What is this on my PCI DAQ connector? (PCI 6259, M-Series)

I'm building a new rig which includes a PCI-6259, am confused by this connector:

What this is, and which mates with it? This is the place where I expect the power connector PCI-E to the power of the system, or the 'hard drive connector"that the M series is supposed to have. But this has about four times as many pins I guess than to have. It is not schematized or mentioned in any job I can find online.

Yes, version PCIe card has the supply and on the back of the card connector.  The PCI version does not work.  I think it's because PCIe is a lot of current as long as PCI, so the extra power is needed.

Both versions have if the RTSI connector.

  • My PCIe-6259 will work in a different PCI slot?

I have a DAQ PCIe-6259 case in an old computer that experienced a motherboard failure.  I'm looking at building a new computer, but I wonder if I have to get a motherboard that has a dedicated x 1 PCIe slot, or if I can put my PCIe-6259 in a different PCI slot?  I would also welcome the recommendations of the computer/motherboard.

Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

It must be a home PCI Express (PCI, not), but it doesn't have to be a PCIe x 1 location; Peripheral PCIe work in PCIe connectors longer, they don't just use the additional lanes.

  • When the output of the counter, which means "implicit synchronization"?

    Hello

I'm trying to generate a simple pulse train (as in This example).  But I want the EXTREMELY precise timing.  As accurate as possible given my device series X DAQmx.

So I was wondering if someone could explain to me what means "implicit synchronization."  Is that mean that the counter will choose the 'best' timebase accordingly?

Can I just force the counter to use the time base of 100 MHz reference to ensure that the time is as accurate as possible?

When you specify the implicit synchronization, you say DAQmx to generate pulse train dictates when the meter should update its output rather than other mechanisms (such as the sample clock).  It is not related to specify what timebase counter must use as its source when generating.  DAQmx should choose a base of default time suitable for you, but you can explicitly set this via the property node of DAQmx channel-> counter output-> General Properties-> Timebase counter-> Source property.

    Hope that helps,

    Dan
