  Hello james, please try this: come on in firefox > help > troubleshooting information, click on file/show profile folder and close all firefox windows later. a windows Explorer window should open in there remove the file named user.js - it is used to overwrite your custom preferences.

  To uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please proceed as follows:

  Like many others, I had terrible problems with this darn thing incredibar who has somehow put on my laptop. With other threads in the forums I managed to get Firefox to what I had originally, (remove webassistent, check everything: config etc...) but I still have a problem. When I search incredibar subject: config, I always get a bunch of results extensions.incredibar. I'm not very technical when it comes to these things, but is there anyway I can delete these or are they just leftovers that I better leave her alone? The extension of incredibar does not appear higher in the list on the tab of Firefox. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  This should fully get rid of Incredibar. It is certainly one of those annoying and difficult to get rid of.

  These extensions.incredibar results should be safe to remove. They are only active when the extension is installed. If it is uninstalled, these settings cannot affect anything. Also this kind of parameters being left behind all kinds of modules because it is not a way to auto remove these settings when an add-on is uninstalled. I hope this problem is resolved one day by the Firefox devs.

  To clear these settings:

  • In the url bar, type Subject: config and press enter. If you see the "this might void your warranty!" caveat, just click the I'll be careful, I promise! button to continue.
  • In the search box, type extensions.incredibar . Right-click on each parameter that appears in the results below, and then choose reset. Will erase the settings of Firefox after you shutdown Firefox.
  • Alternatively, you can do nothing. They are just left the remains that do nothing.

  I have a problem with one of my Firefox extensions/plugins, it is called MyStart: Incredibar, and I basically unintentionally installed when I installed a program with a downloader/Launcher of Brothersoft.
  I tried to uninstall Mystart and tried to permanently stop the service that updates the plugin incredibar MyStart.
  What it basically does is, when I open a new tab in Firefox, it opens up some sort of site Web, I have no problem with it loading an search engine, the only problem that I have about the search engine is that everytime I open a new tab, it actually loads a new page.
  I even tried to reset certain numbers of subject: config which helped temporarily, but after I restarted Firefox and then it works again the search engine when I open a new tab. I use Eset Nod32 and Anti-Malmwarebytes defence of my system and I tried scanning with two of them, but they are not helping at all, does anyone have information that will permanently delete this plugin from my PC?

  I removed from the Explorer and Chrome, but not as much luck with Firefox. Same problem: when I open a new tab, it appears (with iPhones dance across the lower part of the screen). In fact, I thought that Spybot S & D had removed what he found something in the registry, but no.

  In fact, the problem has been resolved with a little assistance from Verizon tech support (THANKS!). But if someone has the same problem, here's what to watch for... go into Control Panel and search for myincredibar installer/helper...publisher of incredimail... uninstall that and the host of photo and letter and you should have your problems... After contacting customer support incredimail, I dropped all incredimail products. They were usless... and very rude. Not to say, they do not speak the KINGS ENGLISH!  And the parent company (Perion)... was completely unavailable. Too bad, the stationary, fonts, animations, etc were great. But as another poster elsewhere in these forums said... it's like a virus...

  Help... you have to look in the corners dark and dusty your machine to get rid of all the programming incredijunk... they do a job hiding things...

  MyStart.incredibar.com browser redirect virus took over my computer with all other browsers google chrome e explore, AVG and the safety scanner Microsoft gift or to detect the virus. I tried several other ways to delete, but it comes right back. Another there woth there anyone same problem? A bit of luck. Thanks for any help or suggestion.

  as I was downloading something completely different, MyStart by Incredibar downloaded in my system.  I uninstalled everything that I downloaded, but this does not seem to be installed or even listed to be installed.  After that I did some more research, I think it's a virus and I don't know how to get rid of it. Also, first the toolbar window is MyStart by IncrediBar.com, a second window opens but I can't open another window nor can I delete one of the two windows unless I have close and restart again.    I don't know much about computers and would really appreciate someone helping me return to my Yahoo homepage even.

  Malwarebytes won't find it. Tested and confirmed. Incredibar is not malware. Potentially unwanted application, nothing more.
