Incremental loading of Source

Hi gurus,

I'm looking for a way to extract the incremental data from my source tables in Oracle.

I designed an INF_CUST of Interface that loads data into my staging table STG_CUST table SRC_CUST of the source.

This interface directly load the data.

I want to design the interface in such a way that -

The first time I run the interface must retrieve all the data from the source.

Thereafter, every time that I should choose only new or updated rows.

Table source SRC_CUST a last_update_date column and I need to recover data that has been updated after I ran my interface.

Is this possible in ODI?

  • 'Command for incremental load' DAC contains @DAC_ *.

    Hi Experts,
I work on 10.1.3.4.1 DAC and uses the OOB repository. The Informatica version 8.6.1.
I came across several tasks with the additional orders and support is entered as @DAC__CMD.
Can someone let me know what it does stand?

    Thank you

You can watch note Metalink 973191.1 ID (see below). If it is useful, please check the response accordingly.

    Cause
The 'Source Dimension loading", has the following definition:

-Customer DAC > Design > tasks > load in the Source Dimension > order for incremental load = "@DAC_SOURCE_DIMENSION_INCREMENTAL."

    and

-DAC Client > Design > tasks > load in the Source Dimension > order for full load = "@DAC_SOURCE_DIMENSION_FULL."

instead of the actual names of the Informatica workflow.

The CAD parameter is not substituted with the appropriate values in Informatica for ETL

This is caused by the fact that ORDERS for FULL and INCREMENTAL fields in a task of DAC are not specific texts of database as described in the following bug:

Bug 8760212 : FULL AND INCREMENTAL ORDERS SHOULD ALLOW DB SPECIFIC TEXTS
    Solution
This problem has been resolved after you apply the hotfix 8760212

The documentation says to apply the Patch 8760212 to DAC 10.1.3.4.1 according to the requirements of the systems and the Guide of platforms supported for Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 10.1.3.4.1.

However, Patch 8760212 has become obsolete, recently, in this platform and language. Please see the reason mentioned below on the "Patches and update" tab on My Oracle Support.

    Reason of Obsolescence
Use rather cumulative Patch 10052370 .

Note: The most recent replacement of this patch is 10052370. If you download Patch 8760212 because it is a sine qua non for another patch or group of hotfixes, you must check whether or not if the Patch 10052370 is appropriate as a condition before substitute before downloading.

  • ETLs process - full vs. incremental loads

    Hello
I work with a client who already have implemented Financials Anlysis in the past, but now he must add purchases and Supply Chain Analysis. Could someone tell me how to extract these new subject areas? could I create Plans of executions separated in DAC for each subject or I have to create an ETL that contains the 3 areas?
Please help me! I also need to understand what is the difference between full and incremental load, how to configure the DAC to run extraction either full or incremental?
    Hope someone can help me,

    Thank you!

Regarding your question "multiple execution plan": I usually just combine all subjects in a single execution plan. Especially considering the financial impact Analytics has on the areas of procurement and Supply Chain.

The difference between the full execution plans charge and incremental charge exists mainly in the qualifiers of source date constraints. Incrmenetal aura execution plans a comparison $LAST_EXTRACT_DATE $ against the source system. Plans to run full load will use $$ INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE in SQL.

A task is performed with a "FULL" loading command when the last_refresh_date for this job target tables is null.

Sorry, this post is a bit chaotic.

  • With regard to Incremental loading in owb 10.2

    Hello

I need the incremental load process mapping.

If anyone has the sample mapping please send me the .mdl mapping.

    It is very urgent.

    Thank you
    Vincent

    Hi Vincent

A simple solution is to add a date for mapping input parameter and then connect that setting a filter input. This filter is also connected to the source table. The filter clause will say "where the data in the source table are superior to ." For the initial charge, you simply set the parameter to a date very far in the past. That would be enough for what you are after?

  • Dynamic (lazy) loading the source .as

I know that this is probably a pure AS3 question, but the purpose is related to the PlayBook I ask here.

Is it possible to code ActionScript3 'lazy-load "?  (It would be like what you would call a dynamic linking of libraries, rather than statically linking).

In the Python world, the 'import' statements are indeed true statements, transformed the runtime load (and even on the fly compilation if necessary) other modules.  You can even put 'import' inside functions, so that they will be run well after the loaded application, even by only if you call a function that is rarely used.

Is this also possible with AS3?  (I confess that I have not yet tried to 'import' in a function.)  If it is, it works the same way, where any code is not yet loaded from the file SWF (or wherever he may be) until the import statement execution?

A use case would be to allow a very wide application start execution, perhaps display a custom splash screen, as it continues loading the modules "in the background".  They have alluded to this in a few videos (first WebWorks webcast?) where they mentioned that the image of custom in the file of your blackberry - splash screen tablet.xml "could even be integrated into the application.  That makes no sense to me, unless there is a form any lazy loading were available.

You can use the Modules for this to dyanmically load views, code, services, what ever.  Unless she changed, imports are included during the compilation step not the enforcement stage (However, I was wrong once before).

  • OWB 10.1 load data Source 11.2

    Dear all,

We intend to upgrade a database of existing 10.2 to 11.2, all tested and works fine execpt OWB.

After that Googling autour, I found the OWB 10.1 can't 11.2 database as the Source, and we need to upgrade OWB 11.2 for the deal.

However, since we have planned an OWB upgrade and I was asked to implement a temporary solution until the OWB can be improved to 11.2.

In this regard, I have two solutions to use OWB 10.1 with basic upgrade to 11.2.

    1) puts at the disposal of the old 10 g of OWB 10.1 as base and updated database updated 11.2 periodically.
    (2) to a Staging database 10 g, which retrieves data from database 11.2 via links from DB and make it available to OWB 10.1 as a source.

Need your expert advice in this regard.

  • Load with the incremental update of the IKM Oracle

    Hi Experts,

According to my understanding, incremental load is that the new data (with insert append or load incremental (update/insert or merged with or without behavior SCD)).

While peek into the code of the IKM KM here it is my understanding:

Incremental update: given the PK defined in the target data store, that KM will check line by line and put insert/update (change data capture).

Append: Blindly block for the table insertion target and any changed data will be captured. It will not truncate and insert so that to avoid duplicates in the data, have a PK defined in the target table, so whenever the duplicate data comes it can be prevented or go for CKMs.

    Now my doubt is,

When you use the incremental km update: the scenario is I have an incremental load today, inserted for example 200000 files today and tomorrow other 200000 records added (may include updates of certain lines in the previous loaded 2,00,000 documents. Now it will scan 4,00,000 (yesterday + today) and seek changes, I mean to update or insert

Because according to my understanding will treat this KM row by row all records (my understanding is correct?). If it reads each record and are looking for a change or not change it seems to me that his time and performance issues?  CDC is right approach in this scenario or the implementation of SDC on all columns in the table?

Regarding the large number of records coming daily, updated incremental if IKM checking all records for update or insert or no change, in my opinion, this isn't a performance wise and time to compare source and target value. This KM eliminate comparing itself the Chronogram of the source to target those who does not charge any change in any of the previous column value?

Sorry if this is a silly question. Just trying to figure which can be better charge strategy, especially when I have millions of records entering source daily.

SSX I remember ealier JeromeFr our expert member in the community, said Partioned Exchange to treat only to process the given month data when you manage tables partitioned at the database level.

    Best regards

    ASP.

    Hi ASP_007,

Charge, as opposed to full reload, does indeed only new (and possibly changed) data. There are 3 main ways to do this:

    • Set up a filter in your mapping interface/load only the data including the upper date to a variable (which holds the last loading date).
    • Use the framework of the CDC in ODI. There are several JKMs. The solution optimal is probably the Golden Gate, one, but you must purchase this additional license. mRainey wrote about this several times: http://www.rittmanmead.com/2014/05/goldengate-odi-perfect-match-12c-1/
    • Retrieve all the data in the source and allow an incremental update of the IKM define what already exists.

Of course, the first two still will take a little more time to develop, but it will be much faster in terms of performance because you treat data less.

It is for the part "Extract", get data from the source.

Now, you must know how to "integrate" into your target. There are different strategies as insert Append, incremental update, Type 2 SCD...

    • Indeed insert Append won't update. It will only insert lines. It is a good approach for a full charge, or for an additional charge when you want to insert data. There is an option in most of the IKMs Append (control) to truncate the table before inserting (or delete all the lines if you do not have the privileges to truncate).
    • Incremental update: there are different IKMs for this and some may have better performance than others depending on your environment. I recommend you to try a few and see which is more fast for you. For example ' IKM Oracle incremental update (MERGE) "could be faster than 'IKM Oracle incremental update. I personally often use a slightly modified version of ' IKM Oracle incremental update (MERGE) for Exadata ' to avoid using a work table (I$ _) and perform the merge directly into the target table. The last approach works well with the CDC when you know that all data are new or changed and needs to be treated.
    • SCD2: To maintain your dimensions needing SCD2 behavior.

So in answer to your questions:

Because according to my understanding will treat this KM row by row all records (my understanding is correct?). If it reads each record and are looking for a change or not change it seems to me that his time and performance issues?

Some of the IKMs will do it line by line, others will do it based on a game. This is why it is important to check what he does and he spots.

CDC is right approach in this scenario or the implementation of SDC on all columns in the table?

Yes certainly, you will have less data to be processed.

Yes, by using ' IKM Oracle incremental update (MERGE) for Exadata ' with the strategy of 'NONE '. This means that he will not try to see the rows from the source is already in the target.

PS; I am remember ealier JeromeFr our expert member in the community, said Partioned Exchange to treat only to process the given month data when you manage tables partitioned at the database level.

It is a good approach when you want to reload an entire partition (if you have a monthly charge in a monthly partition or a daily load in a daily score for example). It is easier to set up to load the new lines only. But if you need to update things in the source, you can use incremental update strategy on an intermediate table that contains the same data that your partition and then create the swap partition in a further step.

    Thanks for the mention.

Be sure to close your other discussions.

    It will be useful.

    Kind regards

  • OutOfMemoryError: Limit superior GC exceeded when loading directly the source using IKM sql for sql. Growing ODI_MAX_HEAP do not solve the problem.

OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit at execution a loading interface directly sql for sql with no work table.

I get the error message: error: exception OutOfMemoryError: higher GC limit exceeded when executing an interface making a direct using IKM SQL for SQL command load Append, source a 150millions lines table.

    I have increased the ODI_MAX_HEAP and the interface run longer and failed. I'm already at: ODI_MAX_HEAP = 12560 m I tested with ODI_MAX_HEAP = 52560 m and still error.

I am following up to the memory of the server and I still have available memory...

Apart from the problem of memory I know that this type of load should be possible because the step of data load on LKM SQL to Oracle is able to load the work table $ CAN. Ideally, I want to emulate this behavior by using SQL for SQL IKM.

1 - What is the right path to follow here? (change the parameters of memory or modify the IKM?)

2 - ideas on how to solve the OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded error? (GC means Garbage Collector)

Execution of the IKM interface in the Simulator generates this code:

    Load (Source) command:

    Select

    source - tbl.col1 COL1,

    source - tbl.col2 COL2,

    source-tbl. "' COL3 ' COL3

    of public.source - tbl AS source-tbl

    where

    (1 = 1)

    Default command (Destination):

    insert into the source-tbl

    (

    col1,

    col2,

    COL3

    )

    values

    (

    : COL1,.

    : COL2.

    : COL3

    )

My experience is very limited with ODI so I don't know about changing the code to the KMs

    Thanks in advance.

Find a work around the error of generals limit exceeded GC:

-in my case I was running without the IDE so that changes made to the odiparams.sh were not useful.

-This means that I need to change the JVM settings to:

    $ODI_HOME/oracledi/client/odi/bin/odi.conf

AddVMOption - XX: MaxPermSize = NNNNM

    $$ODI_HOME/oracledi/client/ide/bin/ide.conf

    AddVMOption - XmxNNNNM

    AddVMOption - XmsNNNNM

Where NNNN is a higher value.

  • Load steps

    Hi all

I've been running full load tillnow, but now I want to run incremental load.

Can someone tell me what steps I need to take care to perform incremental load.

I've seen a lot of posts on the charge, but I do not get a clear idea about it. I know I must uncheck full always charge for the execution plan that I want to run.

But I don't know if I need to check or uncheck the option Drop/Create index.

Also, I want to know, in tasks, we have the choice for the option tables sources and targets.

In the target tables I check truncate always or Truncate for a full incremental load charge.

I'm confused because for some tables I see always truncate is then checked for some Truncate tables for full load is.

Can someone let me know the steps to follow the incremental load.

Any help would be really appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

You can just uncheck the option always full load that's all. In fact it will be decided according to the value of the date of discounting for the primary source or the primary target table, if the discount date is zero DAC will automatically choose the task with full load workflow and if there is a value for the date of updating THAT DAC is going to run the respective incremental workflow, you can check that , setting up oracle Connections tab, it should show the deadline in order to launch the incremental load

We took of incremental charges for financial analytics of Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 using Informatica 8.6. Our version of the OBIEE apps is 7.9.6. Someone at - it run in having to add indexes on LAST_UPDATE_DATE of many of the sources such as AP_AE_HEADERS_ALL tables. We analyze performance issues with ETL queries for incremental load and realized that most of the queries use LAST_UPDATE_DATE to extract the data from the source tables. Some source tables do not have an index on this field.

    Has anyone experience this problem?

When I add a name to the first time to the XML, the list shows nothing. Then, when I add a new name, it displays the list.

Why is it so? Is there a any mistake I made?

    Help, please!

    Thanks in advance

It seems that there is a problem reported on the DIT that was refitted with internal BlackBerry MKS defect tracking system. Until this issue is reviewed by our internal teams, please use the solution suggested by the Rapporteur for the question by introducing an "if" statement before inserting data to the DataModel:

                    if (data.name) {
                        empDataModel.insert(data);
                    } else {
                        empDataModel.insertList(data);
                    }

  • Loading data changes to the HFM mulit-period

    Hi all

Anyone know the best way to load the source excel file with several times, including periods of adjustment in HFM 11.1.2.4? I can't loading period adjustments in the < entity curr Wo > in the size of the value when the excel file contains several periods? I know one solution is to separate the periods and adjustments in two separate files, but is anyway to do it in a single file?

    Thank you!

Can you tie your model or screenshot?

I don't think that is possible, but I want to check something.

    See you soon

  • critical error: no LKM is selected for this source

    Hello

My requirement is to load data from oracle to hyperion essbase,

-> I created dataserver, physical and logical schema for both technologies

-> Model created for both technologies & boning, the tables and the dimensions are extracted in both models

-> Created agent & agent of logic in the topology

    -> The new creation Interface.

    Imported KM as

    RKM Hyperion Essbase,

    LKM SQL file

    LKM hyperion Essbase Data SQL

LKM hyperion Essbase Metadata for sql

    LKM oracle to oracle (DBLINK)

    LKM Oracle to oracle (datapump)

    LKM sql for oracle

    IKM sql for HyperionEssbase (DATA)

IKM Sql for Hyperion Essbase (METADATA)

Drag and dropped the Oracle Source (table) and target Hyperion Essbase (Dimensions) and mapped the respective records from source to the target

When running... It occurred, issue critical error: No. LKM is selected for this source

I tried selecting the source of the flow tab and try to change in properties, but in the Lkm selector appeared only flaw...

An LKM is responsible for loading the source data from a remote server to the staging area. It is used by the interfaces when some of the data source stores are not on the same database as the staging server. In your scenario, the target cannot be designated as the staging area as Essbase is not a relational technology, so you would need only a LKM if your waiting area was not also on your Source (the Oracle database that contains your source table). If this is the case and you have a separate staging of hotel for example SUNOPSIS MEMORY engine you must a LKM as LKM SQL for SQL. If you set the staging area to be on your Source then you will not need to specify an LKM.

This is why, according to the location of your staging area you need the following KM, LKM SQL for SQL and SQL IKM Hyperion Essbase (DATA) or just the SQL IKM Hyperion Essbase (DATA)
