  • What is the procedure for removal and installation from a CD ROM Drive?

I have a Compaq Presario 8000Z / 8QSXE1 PC. I just ordered a new CD ROM drive and expect to receive at the start of next week. I already know how to open my case, I just bought the antistatic carpet from Radio Shack with the hand strap to dissipate any static buildup on me and the PC. I got compressed air ready to clean any dust and the debri.

But now if someone knows how to remove the old drive and install the new drive I as always greatly appreciate this info. What tools do I need etc will also be useful for this task.

I have a new laptop with Windows 8, and like most new computers, he has not a reader of CD-ROM I disabled CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition of my old computer (since I'm permitted in a computer at a time) and here install and activate on my new machine. I am in possession of the original cd, product key and serial number, but the email I used initially to get the serial number no longer exists. I created a new Adobe ID with my new email address.

I read a forum that suggested that I have download a trial version and then activate this test with my serial number. I followed these steps with the version closest to you, that I could find, which was of CS5, and although my computer says that the files downloaded, nothing was installed... and I can't understand how to install... and I'm afraid that I don't have the same version in the trial that the CD I own. How is used to emulate a CD-ROM drive, to mount a Win7 ISO, VMware Player installation

Read page 77, 78 configuration DVD, CD-ROM and readers of diskette to see how to connect an ISO Image.

The ISO is already defined with an Autounattend.xml file.

for other things like VMware Player trying to make are not necessary.

Read page 24, 25 manual installation of a guest operating system.

and do an actual facility in one of my partitions of HARD drive?

This should be simple enough, but do not see the options for this.

    Read the Documentation!

If I understand you correctly and you want to install a physical disk partition and not a virtual hard drive, then after initially creating the VM void then the change settings by deleting the existing virtual hard drive and add a hard drive by selecting "Use a disk (for advanced users)", which BTW I don't consider you one since to couldn't understand it yourself.  That said, what's not in the documentation is that if your host operating system is Windows 7 and Windows 8, you won't be able to use a physical partition that is located on the same drive, the host operating system is probably installed.  It must be one disk/partition physical separate other then what Windows 7 is installed on.  (That's assuming you are starting Windows 7/8).

  • CD/DVD-Rom drive does not not on Equium A100

I installed a webcam, and it made my DVD - rom drive does not not with all drives. I uninstalled everything to do with the webcam and it still does not work. Can someone help me solve this problem without using the recovery disk of the product came with my laptop?

I had this problem before, but I didn't the first time, it's the webcam that has caused the problem. It s webcam trust wb - 1400T. I had to use the product recovery disc and he had a lot of hassle to install all my programs again and this time I'm in the middle of exams and can't get it all done in time for my exams, as I have vital work on here I have to do.

.. .Please help me... I think it is the driver, but I don't know how to fix it.

    Hi mate

    > I installed a webcam, and it made my DVD - rom drive does not not with all drives
To be honest I have never seen that the webcam may have a negative influence on the internal CD/DVD drive.
I see really no connection between the webcam and ODD... very strange
Do you get any error messages?

    Anyway, in my opinion, you should try these solution ideas;

    (1) remove the drive from the Device Manager CD/DVD and restart the laptop. After restarting again the operating system should recognize the STRANGE and should re-install the drivers.

    2) access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    .. then restart the laptop.

    (3) download and install the tool freeware "CCleaner". This tool repairs registry and solves several problems in System.

If this does not work, then the new installation of the OS would be wise to check if the problem could be related to a software problem.

    Hi storm36,

You must have the Windows XP disk to repair Windows. As the CD/DVD drive is not getting detected, we recommend you try the following steps and check the result.

Step 1: Check if the device is detected in the BIOS (basic input/output device)
    a. start your computer and press on delete key continuously to see the BIOS.
    b. check if the CD/DVD device is detected.
    c. If this isn't the case, then unplug the unit and he reconnected inside the CPU/Tower.
    d. check the result.

Step 2: If the device is detected in the BIOS, try the following steps:
    a. start your computer and boot to the desktop.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click ok.
    c. select my computer, click the Action menu and click scan for hardware changes.
    d. check if the CD/DVD device is listed in the list.

Step 3: If the problem persists, restore the computer
see How to restore Windows XP to a previous state .
    b. Once you have restored the computer, check if the CD/DVD drive is visible.

  • CD ROM drive not in Device Manager

Suddenly, my CD-ROM drive doesn't work after I plugged a flash drive. It does not recognize a disc (tells me to insert a disc after that I already have). The drive is not listed in Device Manager. I followed the instructions of regedit and led nothing to delete the location. I tried the following without success website: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/ The Fix - It ran and gave me: material changes may not be detected - checked. Y at - it sort of screwup driver or is my cd rom bread?

    Hello

If the drive is viable that these can help:

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

    the parameters.

I just typed in my PC model in the search box on the HP Web site and it shows my entire model number, I selected to order parts for this model and it shows all the parts for my PC and the P/Ns for each part. My CD ROM Drive n/P is 214755-001. I went on this site nevegg but could not find my drive but I have another place that wearing this player went forward and special ordered. They sell second-hand released nine disks as well as brand new. I ordered a new which cost $69 with the Fed Ex is $77 total for shipping. So I should get this new album some time in early next week. The name of the store that I bought it from is called Cygnus Supply LLC, their website is cygnussupply.com and their phone number is 866-884-0288 if anyone is interested. Now I'll start a new thread to see if anyone can give me information on the removal of the old procedure of disk procedure and installation on the new drive. OK thanks for your help.
