  You can place a PDF file in an InDesign document, but you cannot modify it. You can make small amounts of editing PDF documents in Acrobat Pro.

  I wonder if your client is thought to an Acrobat form, where users can add data to text boxes and so on.

  I can't put Photoshop pdf files in InDesign CS5 after update to LION. I get the error message "unable to open the PDF file. I tried to register him as Acrobrat and then place, get the same message. • interactive PDF using Indesign CS5.5 problem with overlay

  Hi all

  I designed an interactive pdf - not for the web. I have a stratification of problem on a page. On the page, there are 6 buttons. Each key pressed will propose a box containing information and content. When I designed the page using indesign cs5.5, I did so that most information box has been at the top of the layer. I thought this would be the cleanest way to present the page. By having the largest area of content (each of the six boxes of content are different sizes) in the upper part, it would cover the other boxes. When I exported the file to the smallest box was the head, and then the secondest etc. It seems pretty messy.

  Is there a way to make sure that the lagest content area is upstairs when it exported in pdf format?

  Have you tried to put this bigger box on its own layer at the top?  I don't know much about buttons etc but if you expect someone coming here makes.  A large number of contributors are in zones different, but...

• Export PDF freezes InDesign CS5

  I'm having a random freeze problem when you export a PDF file in InDesign. I export the file and it goes in background processing. I try to close the file and InDesign said that the background operation still works and that I can not close the file. I have check the background task window and the PDF is still of the distillation. I let it go for about 30 minutes and nothing happens. The footprint of the PDF file shows 0. InDesign won't let me stop the process in background window (or at least when I click on the 'x' nothing happens), and the only way I can get out is to force InDesign to quit smoking. When I re - open the file and try again, InDesign exports PDF without problem.

  This happened with 2 different types of files in the last day. First time was a magazine page... 50 pages have been'd up queue to export files PDF and stops the whole process on a single page. After an hour or two, I had to leave the force and start over, and all exported without any problem. This most recent gel was a stand-alone file of relatively small ads. Both times there were no errors before the indicated flight.

  Someone else has this problem and is there something I could do in addition to the strength to quit smoking?

  Seems that you exported (Interactive) PDF format instead of choose PDF (Print) in the drop-down menu, one of the Print presets from file > Adobe PDF presets...

• InDesign CS5 spits out huge pdf files

  I just noticed what is happening. File 7 very simple InDesign CS5 page. All type, 1 logo line art placed on a master page.

  When I export to pdf with Adobe 'smaller size of the file' preset, I get a file of pdf 750 k. Argh. I also get a warning in the summary saying saying that ' the preset specifies that some fonts are not shipped. This application always incorporates fonts. "Which I've never seen before. (I've not edited the preset).

  I need run optimization pdf in Acrobat and check all boxes in the last two parameters. This gets up to 65 k pdf.

  Any idea what's going on?

• Help with PDF import Indesign CS5 trial version

  Hello: I'm in a bit of a quandry. I have many PDF files I want to convert it to Epub. I called Adobe and asked them what program I need to do and they said InDesign CS5, so I downloaded the trial version to check it out. The problem is that there is no command to 'place' in the trial version, which is how could import the PDF file. So I'm left unable to perform a test with this software and don't want to buy a program that I can not confirm. Workarounds or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  No command to place? Check work spaces to make sure that you do not have one that hides the menu items.

  Secondly, I don't see how InDesign is going to be the right tool for this.

• Exporting to PDF from InDesign CS5

  Probably a real simple question to answer, but I am confused.  I'm trying to export a bulletin 6 pages in .pdf format from InDesign CS5; It comes out as a 4-page document in the following sense: the first page is fine (vertical on letter size), the 2nd and 3rd pages appear side by side (horiz. / letter) like pages 4 and 5.  Page 6 is again very well (vertical/letter).  I never had this problem with CS4...  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance, Wharton

  Interactive PDF is exported in is spreading by default, and the only way to change that is through the script. See Interactive PDF from InDesign CS5 has always Spreads on | InDesignSecrets

• Using InDesign CS5. Need to print, fold, staple with Kyocera printer?

  I use InDesign CS5. My documents are implemented 2-top shot on horseback, 8-1/4 "x 14". I want a new Kyocera TASKalfa to print, fold, staple. Kyocera is telling me that I need to set up my documents as single pages with no selected feature booklet so I saved to PDF, but it reduces the printing of the pages. The area of impression if I check the fold of the brochure, it gray on several pages, very small print on a single sheet. Previous printers printed OK. Is this a driver problem? If Yes, why wouldn't not Kyocera know which driver should I use? I could really use your help.

• InDesign cs5 changing bckgrnd white transparent

  I use indesign cs5. When I import an illustrator image that has a white background, indesign changes to transparent. I have a background color in indesign, so background images accelerates color - it seems that it has a transparent background... which he did not. I tried to create the image in photoshop, conversion to PDF... Insert a white 'image' to put my image-nothing works. Also, that seems to only happen when I place the image in a text column. Been searching for days and could not find a solution. Any help is appreciated.

  I have the files and I found the problem. The 'background' on the master page is on a higher layer with the text and the image on the page of the document, so it's actually in front of it, but because you did the light using transparent color gradient rather than to use shades which is behind all of this is reflected.

• InDesign CS5 will not install

  Background:

  I had been using InDesign CS5 for a few years on my Win7 Ultimate x 64 machine.   A year and a half ago, I reloaded the OS and did not reinstall InDesign as I didn't need so.  It is used for a project once every six months near the end of the year. My InDesign CS5 is the update to Pagemaker, - installation is in the download file obtained via the Download Manager when licensed by Adobe in 2010. I think that it was updated to CS5.5 during that period but I have no file to install CS5.5,

  Problem:

  Tried to re - install at this time, and Setup fails.  He accepts the serial number but does not end: * I have attached the complete list of the errors at the end of this post.  I tried the install several times - initially with all InDesign bells and whistles, then restart your computer and retried and then again after restart a second time with no selected InDesign extensions (thinking that perhaps one who may be the cause) but no change in symptoms.

  Discussion:

  I think it's either something fundamental with InDesign CS5 in conflict with some Win7 updated since the time when InDesign CS5 has worked, or interaction with other Adobe products.

  Blurry printing InDesign: Choose file > print > graphics > Images > data send: all

  Fuzzy in PDF format: fix above points first. make sure that the links are up-to-date; post a screenshot here your PDF export settings.

• Cannot print the booklet from InDesign to PDF

  I've upgraded to Acrobat 9.5.5, OS is Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and am trying to print a booklet from InDesign CS5. I can export regular documents very well, but when I'm in the book window and try to save it as a pdf, I get the message "the Save as PDF option in the printer dialogue don't is not supported." I read through the discussions earlier on Snow Leopard and much more, but haven't found the solution.
