  It is possible that you need to trash your preferences file.

  When you click first the ellipse values height and width at the top of the range of transformation does not match values for the properties of the Ellipse. This is the first indication that something is not working properly. Then, it is even clearer that something is off because you enter 6 as the new width, but the ellipse has 7.2503.

  Can someone help me, please? InDesign CS6 crashes whenever I start it. I apologize in advance if I'm like a broken record, but I've read about most of the other post that had the same problem, but none of the suggestions solved my problem. I deleted my preferences and uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign CS6 several times. Also, it crashes when it is in trial mode after a clean reinstall.

  To give you more information, my Macbook Pro crashed a month ago. Once it has been resolved, I migrated my information to my Time Machine backup and upgraded to Mac OS X 10.10. I'd need to use InDesign CS6 for the first time since the crash yesterday (27/10/2015). That's when I noticed the problem. Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 both work perfectly well.

  in Indesign CS6. Obviously, I would like to align itself with the second point.

  After you choose OpenType > Tabular Lining in the character Panel menu, I am able to almost perfect alignment. However, looking more closely, I can see that the second point does not correspond perfectly as it should. Why is this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  DOSIS seems to be a font .ttf with proportional figures (and a glyph alternative available for the digit 1). It is not appropriate for work in a table where you want numbers aligned vertically.

  I just bought a new computer laptop and installed my copy licensed InDesign CS6 on it. I need to return this machine and continue to use my old computer instead. How to pass the "demo" version back to my serial number licensed? I've since uninstalled from the computer that is returned.

  Disabling is the most important part of dealing with Adobe products.  If you do not deactivate the machine installation is before you deleted the software, then you have your two activations tied up in limbo.  You will need to do is to contact Adobe Support by chat and ask them to reset your activations.  You should be aware that you are allowed to have two active facilities (two machines) so if/when you get the old machine to run, do not rush to uninstall it if you install on a new machine.

• Cover of the generated epub InDesign CS6

  I use InDesign CS6 to export to epub. InDesign always generates this file "301.jpg" which is defined as the first or second page of the spinal column.

  I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to disable this behavior. I tried to select 'None', ' rasterize first page ', and select the "Image" of the cover of the configuration dialog box. Is there a way to disable this behavior?

  If you do not want ID to generate a cover image for the EPUB being exported, you can choose 'None' from cover drop-down game of Wick in the dialog box Options to Export EPUB.

  If there is an image is generated even after adjustment of coverage as none, it may be because of custom framing adjustment applied to one of the objects in the InDesign document. 301.le jpg name means either a cover image or an object deliberately value Custom rasterized.

  In case the problem is still not resolved, it would be useful that you can share your identity document (my email id: [email protected]) so that I can tell you which of the elements translates by as an image in EPUB.

• [CS6] Export a transparent PNG image in InDesign CS6

  I usually export a page element to a transparent PNG in InDesign CS5.5 (and below) image by using the following script:

  pageItem.exportFile(ExportFormat.pngFormat, exportImageFile);
  

  But this script does not work in InDesign CS6: it exports an opaque PNG image instead. It seems that CS6 adds a new option to decide if the PNG transparent or not - and the default image export is non-transparent.

  I tried to change this option for a transparent PNG but failed, can you please help?

• InDesign CS6 and OpenGL 1.5 / image images grey out in INDML

  I work for a non-profit and I just upgraded to InDesign CS6 on my machine (signifcantly more robust). Now, their machine (significantly wimpier) must be upgraded as we too send INDD files back and forth on a monthly basis and the two sides only changes in the file. The INDML file I export out CS6 is grizzled on many related photos (but not all) when they read the file INDML with CS4.

  Two things:

  (1) upgrade the slower machine CS6 is the place, but the problem is that this computer has a graphics card that is only OPENGL 1.5 capable (GMA X 3100). The CS6 care state that you need a card that supports OPENGL 2.0. We can afford to replace the computer, therefore: I dream of turning photoshop CS6 on this old machine, but could operate InDesign cs6 on OPENGL 1.5?

  (2) if not, why are only some of the grizzled pictures outside in the INDML file? Can I repair this CS6 > CS4 question without upgrading to CS6?

  The requirements for ID standalone does not mention OpenGL at all. You can download a trial version and see how it works.

  . IDML does not include previews of link (it is one of the main reasons for the file is so small). Images that are emerging at the other end must be available for this ID can regenerate previews.

• Documents InDesign CS6 for not the same pixel resolution

  I just opened in InDesign CS6, a document originally prepared in CS5.5. This document is in pixels. At 100%, the document must be pixel for pixel with my monitor (iMac 27 "to about 104 ppi), but it seems that it is more 100% if you calculate to 72 dpi. If a document of 980 pixel wide 13 inches on my screen! This is different from the previous way of showing pixel documents. And I don't see any preference that could bring resolution to the old way to show the scale.

  In Adobe Acrobat format, you have preferences to control it.

  Did you mean to say that you can no longer configure ID to display text units and traits as the pixels?

  This is not the same thing that you cannot specify text and strokes and pixels.

  So:

  • Ability to display dashes/fonts in pixels and not in points is a purely cosmetic function. Internally, ID treats points and pixels exactly the same.
  • Because it is aesthetic, and the calculation of points in pixels is really easy (the same number!), could you help us understand what is your real concern?
  • If you really want to, you can always type in "12 px" in the field.
  • I had the vague impression that when you created a Web document or an intention to Digital, then the specified unit is pixels instead of points. Appears not to be the case - my guess is that it's a screwup.
  • If indeed it was supposed to be automatic, I feel it's why the preference has been removed.

  (Incidentally, in the case where any who behind the scenes I was wondering, while the script API allow you to set this value in CS5.5, with app.viewPreferences.textSizeMeasurementUnits = MeasurementUnits.PIXELS; which doesn't seem to work in CS6, it generates an error: ' error: textSizeMeasurementUnits ')...

  To reiterate, I think it's probably a screwup in CS6 relating to a mismatch between what has been actually implemented (deletion of preference) and what was planned (automatic unit display) and not an intentional removal of the ability to show pixels. And yet, I do not understand why it really matters. What is a warm-fuzzy feeling you're looking for?

  Reported problems with Illustrator but CS6 is not longer supported by Adobe and was not compatible with the Mavericks and after according to Adobe. Apple does not solve the problem if you run into something, and adobe has no software open source so that others could provide a patch. I'm agree with your position not to be bullied into buying a subscription for the software with my humble OPINION less than stellar customer service I need to contact once a week, it was the decision of the Adobes.

  If you mean that the text seems to disappear, then it seems to be a relatively common problem with CS6 in El Capitan.

  I use CS6 with El Capitan and you encounter this problem sometimes. It happens constantly some days and other days not at all, but I've never established exactly what triggers it.

  As Bob says, CS6 is not supported, so it will not be a solution, but if this is the problem that you are experiencing then tap the display between 'Preview' and 'normal' pressing 'w' will fix it - temporarily.
