Index.html file

Good evening to all...

Quick question: maybe rename it the page index.html with a different name?

Car reviews box remains grayed out

Thanks in advance

N ° any Web site needs a site index.html as the first page read when a user enters the website. That's how the 99.99% of all web servers are configured and that's just what Muse adheres to.

  • Index.html file missing when I download Iweb site to go Daddy

So, I built a website using Iweb.

I downloaded on Godaddy using Fetch.

The files are all there in the correct folder, but the site does not open.

When the support of Go Daddy looked at the files, they said that the problem is the index.html file is missing.

It is a compressed, file index.html.gz, but they are not familiar with it and this isn't in the right format to use.

If someone else has had this problem and you know the solution? I tried to launch my site for 48 hours now.

Support said that everything seems to be fine.

    Thank you

It all depends on how you have downloaded from the site?

Have you downloaded your site folder or just the contents of the folder of your site?  If you have downloaded the site folder, then you need 2 files to index - an index.html file will be inside the site folder and the other will be sitting outside pointing in.

If you have just downloaded the content in your folder Public_html on GoDaddy, then you need an index.html file and that it is.

Don't know how you got index.html.gz.  What you need is one or two files index.html and that's all.

Republish your site new to iWeb to a local folder and check the files that have been produced and if the index.html file is there.  It should be, but there should be no zipped or other, just one or two files with index.html.

    They must be there.

This is the first site you've built?  If so, why choose iWeb?  Not sure that this is an unsupported product that has not been updated for at least 6 years now?

Remember to move on and using supported software.

  • Cannot find my index.html file after uploading via FTP to my Web host. Where is this?

Hi, I am trying to locate the index.html file that muse creates after downloading from my webhost via FTP, but I can't seem to locate it. No one knows where that might be, or is Muse for something different then index.html?

    Thank you!

Brad, I came across this thread, trying to find my index.html file: https://forums.adobe.com/message/7047367#7047367

The suggestion to disable editing in the browser and re - download my site again, the file index.html returned (and replace the index.php file that was there).

I always find it strange that the php file was created (not knowing code, I'm sure there's a good explanation for this). However, the only reason why I even noticed there was a problem of not having an index.html file, is that I'm currently testing a new Web host (Media Temple Grid) - and the index.html file was needed. It doesn't seem to work properly with the .php file. Which brings me to wonder... If, for example, I would need to have access to this feature of change in the browser in the future, is there a way to ensure that the index.php file is compatible with my new host?

    Thank you!

I use and Filezilla to connect to our FTP site.

    I see on line 42 of style.css

    do-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;

    I see on line 180

    do-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;

and I see FontAwesome used in several places.

I can only conclude that Courier New is the applied font.

If you have a different version of style.css on your local system?

The index.html file is the page that is sought after by the browser when someone types a web address (this is the landing page for the entire site)

  • Why my index.html file is not changing on the server when I download it using the option at the level of the site to synchronize.

DW CS6 using, Windows and sometimes try DW CC. I say just put the files on the server.   All, I repeat all, times, I download, the file index.html and sometimes other files, does not update.  I use iPage as my host, but others have tried with the same results.  If I go to iPage file manager and look at the file on the server, this is the old version, before the updates to the file.  Physically, I delete the files from any problem and put the file on the server individually.  Because the way it happened with different hosts, I'm on #4, I think it's a problem of DW.  Any ideas?

As a un travail work around download, tell him rather than the button synchronize and see if the results are different...

1 right-click the root directory of local site in the files window

    2. choose the selection command > recently changed

    3. set ' files created or modified in the last: ' for 1 day

Which will highlight everything that has received a change in any of the site for the last day. Then, you click on the button Put standard to place these files on the server.

If it doesn't, check your FTP logs (access the Site > advanced > FTP Log) and see if there is anything that is mentioned on the index page.

  • How can I delete the index.html file automatically added my domain homepage?

I noticed recently that muse adds index.html to my homepage. I want to remove it and revert back to the way it was. This is the 2nd site with that I have this problem

    Hello

I'm afraid, it's default system process and it is not possible to change the file name for the first page created in Adobe Muse of index.html at home or any other file name.

  • How to open a html (index.html) file on my hard drive?

In the old FireFox drop-down the menu allowed me to open any file html on my HD. How to open an html file on the hard drive with the new FireFox?

This option is not in the menu of the Firefox button, but it is still in the older menu bar menu. The Menu Bar and make selections from there, you can temporarily display by pressing ALT or F10. The option you want in the Menu bar is file > open the file

  • Edit the index.html file to another page

Is there a way to change the page index.html (always the first left in the outline view) to another page?

    Screenshot_2013-12-03_09-31-29.png

I want the House to be the index because I have a graphic instead of text each time that people click on the link it are redirected to the home page.

Basically, you can have a better understanding is you go here http://seventhsensetheband.com/ I want the button to be my index.html.

    Thank you in advance.

Create a menu manual and you add the links. For a menu automatically, even if you drag pages in outline view, the first page is index.html.

Insert the menu into the menu options, choose manual from the menu Type of Menu. For a small site, that's fine.

  • How is it that when I add links in my Index.html file that would damage the design?

OK, well I made a template in Photoshop and then sliced it and it has exported as an HTML files of Images to use in Dreamweaver... First of all, it's what looked like my website design, until I added links...website.png

And that's what it looks like after that I added my links...Capture.PNG

I can post the code if necessary to help... But I really need help because I need this site soon. Please help if you can. Thank you.

Photoshop generated HTML is not good for production sites.  It's really only for prototypes fast to show a client.  For best results, use Photoshop to slice and optimize images only.  Do not generate your HTML code for you.

  • Problems downloading a file of muse for the first time. Museutils.js is not on the local disk on the file index.html.

    Hi all

I hope someone can help because I'm a little desperate.

I started to design a page with a muse of Qooqee model: SENSE.

I worked for a month on this issue. When I was about to finish, I got a message that there is a new version of Muse to update. I did the update when I was still working in the design.

When I finished the desktop version, I downloaded using the "upload to the ftp host" button. All fine until he has gave a "error on the index.html file.

    Screen Shot 2016-02-17 at 2.02.16 PM.png

So, I was unable to complete the first uploaded to the online page.

My husband, who knows a bit about coding, opened the index.html file, and we have seen a warning: MUSEUTILS. JS IS NOT ON THE LOCAL DISK.

    Screen Shot 2016-02-17 at 9.43.24 PM.png

Reading questions similar to the forum that I can guess that the problem has been built with I started with the earlier version of the Muse and updated the Muse version in the workplace, when I finished the page.

Now, the page is not alive because I am not able to download the file.

I don't know if that's the problem, however. I downloaded a fresh sense of QooQee model and erase all content and pages name I will use them (he has added a few pages and I moved the contact page somewhere else on the site map). Then, publish the page Go Daddy and have the same problem. Error on the index.html file. For that I am lost again, because everything has been done with the same version of Muse and the latest model of sense (I don't know how they update the models).Screen Shot 2016-02-18 at 12.12.01 PM.png

Can you please give an idea on how to solve the problem? What I have to redo the entire page?

Thanks in advance, you are my last hope.

Good to see that we can exclude a Muse for the functioning and the collection of production. The problem must lie in the specifics and/or requirements of GoDaddy, hosting provider. The Muse team is very aware of being a very popular hosting provider GoDaddy , so they want to learn all the occasional problems or quirks that might appear with Muse in combination with these suppliers. It might have to do with the current version of Muse, but it could also be a coincidence that GoDaddy has begun to change some things on their side as well. Or it could even be a Gremlin (colloquial term for a software bug temporary and inexplicable) blocking a circuit which seems to happen from time to time...

Are you sure that you follow all the advice and guidelines in this FAQ: download an Adobe Muse of the site to a third-party hosting service ?

  • How can I get my browser to display the file index.html not the default adobe screen?

    Hello

You need to go to the pages of the site and admin and click the page that you want to be to the home page. Under the drop-down list button actions, you will see a text to say to make it to the start page. Click on that.

  • my index.html makes differently if I name index.htm

I use dreamweaver to create a new Web site. During the test it (named index.html) home page renders correctly in firefox, but looks good in other browsers. I discovered that if I name index.htm or default.html it looks normal. The index.html file just seems wrong.

    HI ccsjoe,
It depends on so many different things. If you need assistance with this code please try stackoverflow for some tips from developer.

However, in my experience, the difference in htm vs html is that there is no real difference. However, even if there is no real difference, if the files are not the same, they will be different. http://www.sightspecific.com/~MOSH/ww.../ext.html
