  • Zero/upgrade old computer reset caused by viruses

I recently got an old computer, a laptop Samsung NP-N210 32 bit system model that was purchased in 2009 and only has not been used since 2014, who had HIV and perhaps other things like malware, so I used a lot of antivirus software and uninstall programs to try to fix it the best I could. Now, it seems that the majority of issues have disappeared, but I think that reset the PC would be the best option to remove any thing left but I do not have a backup OS. I tried to download from Microsoft, but the code at the bottom of the computer did not work and I do not have a disk of windows backup 7. Also, I don't see the model of the computers on the Samsung website. Because of this I tried to see if the update to windows 10 would work, because it creates a backup that allows the PC to be reset, but whenever I start it, it can't go beyond the upgrade/obtain conclusion part. I also want to state that there is some pictures and other things I didn't wan't lose but if the solution through the ability to remove media while you'll be fine.

I backed up my files and used the 4 Samsung recovery solution to reset. It seems to work now.

  • How can I REMOVE Pocket ENTIRELY without a master's degree in computer science?

Thanks to the Pocket being on my PC, I'm stuck with e-mails from the provider even after contact with the same directly and have been assured that my email address would be deleted. With reliability like that, I want to remove Pocket even MORE and not only in the toolbar. This function should be an option, not something we are stuck with.

Hi, you can remove Pocket by: right-click on the Pocket button on the toolbar > remove from toolbar - that will remove the Favorites and the toolbar, but it will always be in the menu. To remove it as a from there, then, you must type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.pocket.enabled and double-click on it to change the "value" from true to False, taking care to not to change what anyone else. Then restart Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • Liteon Cd ROM completely lacking in 'My Computer'. Help, please! (Someone... Please help!)

Hello.  I tried to contact the OEM directly, but it has been a week and no response.  I hope someone can help me please.  I copy the email below.  Because I sent this e-mail, I found more "evidence" of the prior exestance of CD ROM  Although it is completely zero from 'My Computer', there are a lot of drivers on the computer for him and now I don't think it's the drivers. I don't know what to think, really. "Here are my new results: in Device Manager, under" Liteon CD ROM "(always with an exclamation yelloe on this subject) I tried to run the"Hardware Update Wizard"for her, and I got this response: the wizard did not find a better match for the material that the equipment currently installed. When I look under 'properties', he says: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. When I click to troubleshoot, I get the same message ("Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »).  He (Liteon CD-ROM) is not listed under "config/system/system information system summer/components/multimedia/CD ROM '-there's just an empty space next to"CD ROM ". Even that in "my computer - it's gone."  The CD ROM will not work, but the light is on and it wil eject and accept a disc, but it will not read it. Please look at my email below and please email me with any questions or recommendations. I can't take another sleepless night, trying to "find my CD lost.  It can be a very simple solution - I hope so. But in all honesty, I really don't know what the problem is.

    Dear Sirs,

I'm really, really hoping you can help me. I'm about to lose my mind trying to figure this out by myself.  I can't find a more appropriate contact you, so please forgive me if this isn't in your area or service. If that is the case, Please before my email to the section within your company and let me know. Everything on the official Liteon site I found and (tried to) read is in Taiwanese, and I am unable to read or translate.  If you could (have mercy on me) so help me or point me in the right direction - I would appreciate it very much .  I tried to understand what I have to do for 2-1/2 weeks and I have spent too much time on this when I should be spending time with my kids! :).

My problem is the following... Recently, I ran a clean up/duplicate file registry cleaner program (ARO) and it seems also removed some vital and very much needed files, extensions, drivers, programs and who knows what else.  I had to download several other programs, file extensions and drivers from scratch, in order to get these things working again. But I can not for the life of understand me what to do with my Liteon CD-ROM. I also used the registry cleaner deletes "duplicate files", and after researching (too late), I found that it often confuses some files as duplicates when they are indeed not the same - post or file descriptions are very similar, or disable a single number or letter. I lost a lot of my pictures as well, and I'm heartbroken over. Anyway, the biggest problem I've noticed is that my CD ROM (Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S) will not work. It happened immediately after the registry cleaner 'cleaned' my folders and things - so I guess that's the culprit.  In fact, my computer is not recognizing even the CD ROM at all. It of Completely disappeared-MIA of 'Information/system components' lacks content 'My Computer' and when I try to update the drivers in the only place I can find that show the CD ROM (but with a large yellow explanation
! Mark) - in the "Device Manager" , I get the error: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) ». Then, when I right click on it and select "Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device", I get the same error: ("Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »). Track only of it (that I can find anyway) is in the 'Device Manager', where even once, it's a big yellow exclamation on the "Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S" here.  It is the only piece of evidence that it ever existed. I've looked everywhere I can think of, in places that I didn't know existed. I've looked everywhere on the internet for the driver for the "Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S' updates but unfortunately, I can't find. There are a few items that refer to the "OEM".  For some reason, I think it's the drivers, but I'm not computer very well informed. It could be something completely different. I wish I could uninstall info CD (only) existing Liteon I can find - and reinstall everything from zero (even do this? Please, tell!). Then... I thought that I contact me Liteon and ask for the drivers. It's at least a Start.  Could you tell me if there is something else I should do or review.

  • computer hangs arbitrarily

    HP 520
Intel processor dual core 2.2 ghz
    2 GB of ram
    Vista SP2

Hi, my HP 520 laptop recently started to freeze arbitrarily. everything stops suddenly, without warning. mouse pad, keyboard, screen, disk hard etc. my laptop is set to close with a push of the power button - it does nothing. It has set up to just turn off the screen when the lid is closed, but touch the sensor button lid closed does nothing. It is completely insensitive and the only thing left to do is to remove the power or push and hold the power button to force the power off.
This can happen at any time, including before and during the HP boot screen, the bios, while windows is loading... anywhere, anytime. It seems not to be bound to any stress or load on the computer, or a specific activity.

    things to know:

recently, I cloned and replaced the hard drive. I do not consider what is the problem. I've done no probs and the machine was running for about a month with the new drive before this problem appears.

I recently replaced the fan following these instructions: http://tim.id.au/laptops/hp/hp%20520.pdf

It's a two-step process - the first time I've only had for the keyboard before deciding I would leave for another day... two days after that the freeze began. research suggested the gel can be caused by overheating so I finished the work, ensure the build up of filth (there is not a lot) had disappeared. also to replace the thermal material under the radiator. the problem continues.

    comments:
    # the blue light wireless goes out always at the same time that the computer freezes (can't be turned on all the machine is frozen). I don't see how this could be related, but am prepared to consider. manually turn it off when the machine is running has no effect on freezing.
    # lifting/moving the computer seemed initially to cause the machine to freeze, but it is certainly not a prerequisite.

    things I've tried:

    # swap out / replace the memory sticks. starting with just one, then the other.
    # memtest86 (no errors found).
    # cpu temp Test-it is rarely above 50 degrees. the computer froze with the screen display.
    # Open the case and checked everything was set up correctly.
    # update the bios.
    # windows update. (before that, I'm running vista without service packs. I don't expect updates to level for help but try just in case where)
    # disable/re-enabling the wireless in the bios.
    # chkdsk
    # disable/re-enabling dual core processor in the bios.
    # limiting at startup with a carrot in msconfig.
    # Malware bytes anti virus. has raced twice in safe mode.
    # operate the machine in safe mode (has no effect - will always be freezing randomly).
    # operate the machine with all the combinations of power cord and of the battery.

I would like if someone could provide a solution which does not buy a new machine! Thanks for reading, I hope I've provided enough information.

Well, you have been very full and we're flattered that you think we could have a magic answer for you. I can't be sure without my hands on the machine, but I think the idea was when you said two things... pick up sometimes seems to trigger the mid-autumn and you had to open and clean and replace the thermal compound. I think you have a problem with one of the chips on the motherboard (which is that I can't tell but probably the main input/output and integrated video chipset) that is a little loose probably because of the heat. I think a "redesign" or the main chip would normally solve the problem, but it is essentially a faulty motherboard. There are several sellers on eBay who do a good job with reinvest Ball Grid Array connections to the motherboard and their price have walked the path down to the sum of 100 +/-range. Not an insignificant amount of money, but less than a new laptop. This is just an option. I don't know these guys here, but there are many more like them, and I suggest to choose one that you can call and ask for references.

  • Someone has just a difficulty to stop to open with the home page homepage?

I see that this problem is widespread, but some of the 'easy' patches are for computer geeks only. I would like to know if anyone could tell me how to get rid of the home page without delving into the bowels of my computer? I'm not writing software, and I'm not going to jump through hoops to try to get rid of this nuisance.

There must be more people like me who look at some of these answers and think, 'What?'... especially when you see what you see apparently when you "walk through" the steps to correct this problem.

I think that Firefox should address this personally, since it's their update that we screwed everything. Supposedly, updates are supposed to make us 'ready to take advantage of the latest speed, flexibility and security. Yes, good. How to fix this bug, Firefox? Instead of making your users solve problems for you. This is ridiculous.

If no one can help me to solve this problem without having to get a degree in computer science, can someone tell me how to get rid of the update total? I'll take my chances of NOT being "ready to enjoy the last speed, flexibility and security.

I'm sorry for the frustration, but it's just simply unacceptable. We shouldn't have go through it whenever we update. Thanks for any help!

See? Complicated. I'll just live with it. Thank you.

  • How to keep tabs of "constantly" "reloading" themselves?

From the update of Firefox 4 tabs appear to keep repeatedly "reloading" themselves a little, quickly bogged down my computer when multiple tabs are open. How can I turn off the tabs of "constantly" (or often) 'reload' themselves? I prefer by far using the refresh option when I want them charged or put up-to-date.

    Historical problem and effects:
Before Firefox 4, I have several tabs (like 30 or 50) open without a problem. With Firefox 4 (and Firefox 5, until now, what seems like, a slightly lesser degree), my computer starts to slow down considerably for each tab after about 5 (or when Firefox and "plugin - container.exe" max out my CPU usage) and takes more than 10 or 40 seconds to load a page after 10 or 15 tabs, instead of only 1 second. When I have a large number of open tabs now, at some point, most of them said 'connection '.... "in the title of the tab (the same as they say, for at least a moment, when the page/tab opening).

    Clarification of "reloading":
I continue to referring to the tabs as reload repeatedly, but I don't really know what they are doing. they just seem like that is what makes them, since they frequently change their title of the page (or the name of the tab) 'connection... '. "and they seem to put a load on my computer that, as far as I can tell, it of like the page loads again, or has been refreshed. I have not really noticed any change in the pages when they do this thing that looks like a sort of reload for me, so it obviously and, fortunately, is not doing the same thing by pressing F5 don't. The random things as of advertisements, or friends featured on the Facebook page of someone, would change when you press F5, but they do not have this problem that I describe.

    Closed:
In general, I am very happy with Firefox, but this feature has been annoying me greatly. I looked for ways to turn it off, but didn't find any. It could be useful that I know what it's called, and exactly what it does.

    Thank you.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • HP dv8t-1000 Bluetooth on Win8 does not

After installing Win8, bluetooth does not work. According to the info on your website, it seems he does not intend to support Win8 on my device.

Just to let you know, I have install Win8 on my laptop, I did HP recovery, then upgraded to Win8. Everything works well except the bluetooth. -There's another problem with Microsoft update that failed to install, but that has been resolved by the judgment of all non-microsoft services, restart the machine, install the update (and it works this time), restart all services and restart.

This laptop is a powerful laptop. I bought it with the intention of keeping it for many years to come. So please is it possible that you could help me get the bluetooth on Win8 running.

    Thank you

    Mutasem Beauvois

I lost hope in solving this problem I tried all kinds of tricks and solutions that people posted. It could just be me... However, I have a degree in computer science and I consider my free knowledgable by following the instructions that post other people... but not luck.

I was about to follow the advice of someone buying an bluetooth external 4, hold on to my machine and use it instead of my built in. At the last moment before I do, I remembered that in 2009, I bought a version of BlueSoleil and they gave me the life time upgrades... So I contacted them, got a license for their latest software, installed on my machine... and it worked! I was able to connect my bluetooth devices using the BlueSoleil software.

This means that the problem of bluetooth on my machine (and most likely everyone who have this problem) is a SOFTWARE problem. I hate Microsoft and HP doesn't get time to save hundreds of times of people who have this problem. I'm a software developer myself... it does not have much time to debug the problem and find a solution...

If you really want to help us, you could... at least you could contact BlueSoleil get their Bluetooth drivers, create an upgrade works for everyone and to improve our machines.

One note though, if you try to buy Bluesoliel is that their software is sometimes buggy... I use the bluetooth mainly to connet my bluetooth headset. I take the headphones with me everywhere wherever I'm going, and I connect it to my cell phone when I'm away from the laptop. So when I come back and want to connect the headphones to new laptop, seomtimes, do not access immediately... when it refuses to connect, I open the Task Manager, close everything that has to do with Bluetooth, reopen the software Bluesoliel and force to connect... and it works again. but this happens regularly.

    Good luck

    Dear friends,

I'm almost certain that the LCD is wrong...

The lites of the screen and there is a lot of loose color (about an inch and a half wide total) running up and down on the left side of the screen only. The rest of the screen is a grey color lite.

I looked a bit on eBay, but nothing exciting. The only screens are more than some of the computers together.

    Hello

It is an old machine, could be 10 years old now. Normally HP stores don't stock spare parts for machines over 5 years. If you can't find on eBay, the chance is very thin votes to zero. Your computer uses one of the following:

  • Satellite L650D-111 - reserved equipment of 64-bit Windows

First of all I want to say that so far Toshiba online support was pathetic, all the pages that might have lead me to a useful address refused to load (and no it wasn't my internet), the site was confusing and it took me over an hour to get here. I can only hope that someone on this forum has an idea of what is wrong.

I just bought my Satellite L650D-111 and it arrived yesterday and it's awesome set apart from a question he uses less than a third of the ram that should. It is a screenshot of the physical memory usage in resource monitor:
    http://I106.Photobucket.com/albums/m272/human_condition/PhysicalMemory.jpg
The memory usage is constantly upward at 700-800 MB, which means that my laptop runs at about one third of the speed at which it should. My boyfriend who has a degree in computer science spent ages trying to fix and couldn't; should I just send it again?

And what is the result? Your laptop is to slow or what? Did you notice performance issues? It has influence on the use of BONE or the use of certain applications to certain negative?

What exactly your boyfriend made or tried so far?

  • Install a second hard drive on HP ENVY 15

I just bought a HP ENVY 15 t-j100. I chose to have an SSD instead of the 1 TB drive. I was told that the original drive may be installed as a secondary but stupidly decided not to. Believe it or not, I have been concerned about the extra weight! Hey, I had just lost a Viao Z550, he weighed 3.2 kilograms, and which included an optical drive! I had never actually seen a HP Envy, ordered him to go just overseas on specifications. Now that I have it I see that worry about the extra weight of the disc looks like to worry about the extra weight of a GPS unit in a Chevy Suburban. The power of one brick weighs about as much as the Z550!

So now I would like to add a secondary drive. I came across a tutorial to do this in an Envy 17, 15 would be substantially the same? Thanks for any clarification.

The problem isn't with the hardware... mSSDs are very fast and reliable. The problem is the design. The slit of the WSSD is supposed to be and is designed to be used only for a hard drive cache acceleration... usually 24 or 32 GB. It allows an SSD speed to exploit the performance of the regular main HDD. It is close to rocket science. It is technically possible to circumvent the way HP has implemented with limits in the BIOS and other, but it is not really designed for this niche of the WSSD, which will be used to hold only a disk to be used as a regular mounted volume storage or the main size boot drive. Once again, possible, but he has a degree in computer engineering to accomplish.
