If I click on save, the data I put into the text form field will be inserted into the table, and the lov field data will be inserted too

I want to ask you how the lov field data can be inserted too

I'll show the image to understand

Sorry for my language

with the help of firebug you can identify the ID of your TextField in table form

• How can I set a default value for a field from an LOV?

The LOV are:

Select txtName, ID
of FAC_LK_PROJECT_PRIORITY
order by 1

I tried:
Select the FAC_LK_PROJECT_PRIORITY priority code where txtname = "average";
and set the type of default value to be the body of the PL/SQL function, but that did not work - I get this error:

ORA-06550: line 2, column 1: PLS-00428: an INTO clause in this SELECT statement
Error ERR-9131 in PLSQL function for default code point body, item = P19_PRIORITYID
Ok

The element is a list of selection w / db as the source column: PRIORITYID

Assuming you want to provide a (default) value when the extraction process of line returns null for the element, a default value of body of the PL/SQL type function would be:

declare l_id number := null;begin  for c1 in (select id from FAC_LK_PROJECT_PRIORITY priority where txtname = 'Medium') loop     l_id := c1.id;     exit;  end loop;  return l_id;end;

• [JDev12c, ADF] How to get the value of a field from the selected line in af:table and...

Hallo,

I want to double click on a line of an af:table to call a page that displays a form (based on a View object) with the details of the selected line.

I need to go to the second page the value of a field on the line that is selected on the first page.

How can I do this? In particular, how can I get the value of a field from the selected line? How can I call the second page on double-click on the af line: table?

Thank you

F.

Why would user, you need to pass a value of the line to the shape?

The framework selects the line you want to display in the form. All you have to do is to show the form with the selected line. It is the framework automatically as long as you use e vo even the same data control.

• How to set the value of a field from the LOV of another field.

I'm trying to figure out how to set the value of a field (P_PROGRAM) to the value of another field of based lov (P_STATE).

The P_PROGRAM field is a hidden field. The P_STATE field is a required field and is based on a list of values for the State Codes.

When a user selects the State to P_STATE, the field of the P_PROGRAM should be set to this value, as well.

I tried different ways to get there via a function call on the post for the calculation of the field P_STATE, defining the source P_PROGRAM to the value of the page item P_STATE put varialbles, creating a process before SENDING, and they all still come back as having a NULL value for P_PROGRAM, therefore impossible to create the file in the db as the PROGRAM is a mandatory field in the table.

Can you please help? Thank you, Laura

Laura,

It is always helpful if you provide information about the Apex version you are using. The Apex 4 you can use Dynamic Actions to achieve this. In earlier versions is possible using processes to submit or javacsripts, as well.

Heres how you do in 3.x with treatment to submit, to make it work in 4.0 as well.

1 do the P_STATE ' select list submits the Page.
2. Add a calculation on the point P_PROGRAM, or write to him assign a value based on a process. The treatment should be OnLoad after the header
3. If the page does not have an unconditional branch that loops on itself, add a. NOTE: The direction must be the last branch (larger sequence number) and should have checked "Save Session State".

This is what will happen
a. when the State is selected Page will be submitted
(b) it will take the unconditional branch to himself and save the value of P_STATE
c. the calculation process / fills the value of the P_PROGRAM element when the page reloads

Kind regards

Hi all

On my personal page, I have a MessageLOVInput Field and I need to restrict the user to enter the values of text free/junk in it and assign this user to select values only from the LOV (i.e. actual query LOV values) pop-up.

Hi amal.

Create a dummy element of value in the form type in your lov plan point create a new card for lov and give the point criteria as the id for your first card for lov and dummy element give posting as 'Yes' to the palette property. so every time that user enters certain undesirable values and try to save it will throw an error message like please enter a valid value

Ex: LOVMAP1: lovregionitemid:give regionitemid lov

ReturnItem:Give lov returnitemid

criteriaitem:give lov criteriaitemid

useforvalidation:Yes

LOVMAP2: lovregionitemid:give regionitemid lov (SAME AS first lovmap)

ReturnItem:Give dummy element point

criteriaitem: NULL

ReturnItem:default

• Ignore the value inserted manually in the field of the lov

Hi all

I have a field called exchange_rate, the user can choose the value of lov (input text with lov) or can manually insert it in the same field.

for example the lov contains values 0.20 - 0.30 - 0.40 and the user must insert the 0.35 value that does not exist in lov.

How to do this?

You can try to remove the f: validator tag.

or (if the previous suggestion does not help)

You can add the new attribute to your VO and set rather LOV him on the original attribute (when you add lov in this field, you must also update the original attribute)

Then use af:inputText for your attribute (so it will not be validated for lov) original and put new attribute as af:inputListOfValues next to him (for example, you can surround them with af:panelGroupLayout with layout = "horizontal").

Hide a part of your LOV entry by placing "display: none;" in "contentStyle" property then you will see only lov icon and combination (inputText, inputListOfValues) will look like to users as classic lov.

To refresh the inputText when the user chooses something else of lov, you need to define autosubmit = true on your component lov and add partial trigger in af:inputText that points to your lov.

Point formula should not be issue of database. And insert the value in the result column in the database is not good idea.
Then, if you want to save it. create the database result item and write trigger (When-validate-point) on amount and filed rates and the trigger code, write

:result:=:amount*:rate;

To display the result on the form, create the database no item and change the formula property and write the formula.

Hope this will help you

• Insert some values into the database of field boxes

I had a similar probem and error when you use the drop-down list instead of a checkbox. It was solved by putting the SELECT name = "CarMake in the menu dropdown.

But in the box, I don't know?
I seem that the problem is the action page has the Form.carmake, but the page does not work. What Miss me and where should I put in the entry below page.

The main objective is to have checked checkboxes to insert some values into the database field carmake based on what is checked.

If the Honda checkbox is checked then
It inserts into the carmake field value Honda.

If the Toyota checkbox is checked then
It inserts into the carmake field the value of Toyota.

If both are true then 2 rows are inserted two values
Honda and Toyota.

Ditto for the last option.

Thanks for your help

You check in one or more of the boxes before continuing? Remember what I said about the form field box existing only on the page of treatment at least 1 or more checkboxes are checked on your form. Make sure you use to avoid this problem.

What happens when you take a look at the output of your dump of form? Your fields are present?

• The default value based on the field from another table to a custom object

I'm trying to set the default value to a field in the custom object to the value of a field of account. I tried the syntax 50 ways different and just don't get the case. The label for the account field displays the form of s/n, the integration of the tag is ltDBA_ACCT and it appears in the fx reports area as Account.Text_22.

The field of custom object that I am triying update is also called s/n, which was originally the required field 'NAME '. The name of the table, account, should it be included? Do I need a function to the field?

I've updated the external ID using the line with syntex < ID > ID (at least higher ID) so I know that it is possible to define a default value, but s / < n >, < ltDBA_ACCT >, 'account '. "" S/n "and so on are simply not working.

If anyone knows how to get into what I would be really grateful for the help.

OK, so if you default a field to the value of another object, you must use the JoinFieldValue function. I think you understand that, based on your original post, but I want to be sure you do.

Then this won't work by default if the folder is created from the object that you want to join the because a default works in record creation and the ID must be available so that it works correctly. It will not work if you choose the record of the related object after that registration of the custom object is created. You can set the default after, but that does not meet your requirements.

The syntax of the default are the following: JoinFieldValue (ref_record_type, foreign_key, field_name).

In your case, ref_record_type is '', foreign_key is [] and field_name is ''. The best way is to determine what is the name of the field to create a new workflow for the account and use the Workflow Rule Condition expression builder to choose your field ("DBA") in the list. The value returned by the expression builder must be placed in the field_name variable in the function JoinFieldValue (minus the parentheses and quotes).

Give it a shot and let me know how you do.

Why can't I insert the value directly in col2 without bind variable?

Ah, just read your message.

I'm guessing that because your on 10g Express Edition, you must be using the Application Express?

Edit: Here's the forum to request:

• Insert the XML document with values of characters < or >

Hello world

Used Oracle: version 11.2.0.3.0

I want to insert an XML document in a binary XML field. But for an element, the value includes characters such as > or <.

Here's an example query:

Update / * + no_xml_query_rewrite * / ms2 set mstag = XMLQuery (' copy $tmp: = .modify (for $i in $tmp/tags/fields[@id="MS"]))

back insert nodes (< value > TEST\n & lt; Address1 & gt; < / value >) in $i) return $tmp' from mstag content back) where psid = 5900;

But because we're using the character & in a SQL query, this request has failed. We invited to specify the 2 values.

So, what is the way of giving the < Address1 > value to the value of the element in the example?

Thanks in advance

The command is not really "fail" in itself. It is just the tool that you are using recognizes '&' characters and treats the following identifiers as replacement variables.

What tool do you use?

For example, in SQL * Plus you can disable this behavior through the SET DEFINE OFF or SET SCAN OFF command.

• DECODE() using Insert the DATE field

I am trying to use the DECODE function to test for NULL before you insert a DATE field. However, it seems only to insert the DATE, with a time of 'default' from 12:00 - it is not inserted properly the time.

Basically, I need to test if Date1 is NULL. If not I need to concatenate the Date1 DATENT with TIME of Date2 to get a complete date/time... and then insert this new value.

Generic example:

-----

CREATE TABLE DATETEST (TestID NUMBER (1), DATE TestDate);

-----

DECLARE
DATE of v_Date1;
DATE of v_Date2;

BEGIN

v_Date1: = TO_DATE (1 Jan 11 05:53:12 ',' DD-MON-YY hh);
v_Date2: = TO_DATE (8 February 11 02:18:31 ',' DD-MON-YY hh);

INSERT IN DATETEST (TestID, TestDate) VALUES ('1', DECODE (v_Date1, NULL, NULL, TO_DATE (To_Char (v_Date1, 'DD-MON-YY') |))) ' ' || To_char(v_Date2, 'HH:mi:SS'), 'DD-MON-YY HH')));

INSERT IN DATETEST (TestID, TestDate) VALUES ('2', TO_DATE (To_Char (v_Date1, 'DD-MON-YY') |)) ' ' || To_char(v_Date2, 'HH:mi:SS'), 'DD-MON-YY HH'));

END;

-----

SELECT TestID, TO_CHAR (TestDate, ' DD-MON-YY hh) from DATETEST;

-----

The following example performs two inserts. With the DECODE function and the other without. One without inserts the time correctly. Can someone tell me why with the DECODE function do? I know I can use a simple if/then to check if the date is null above and put the time in a variable, but since my real scenario is in a lot of other things, I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible.

INSERT
INTO DATETEST(
TestID,
TestDate
)
VALUES(
1,
TRUNC(v_Date1) + (v_Date2 - TRUNC(v_Date2))
)
/

• fill the drop-down list in a table - insert the value in another

Probably, this should be easy, but do not know if my problem is with my design of the database or with my query from CF, etc.. The drop-down list is filled correctly, but nothing is not subject to the table "order". It is an Access database and the appropriate reports are configured in the db. Let me know if you need more details on my installation of db. I'll do the same thing later on the page with USERS ("outers checker"). I put this up to people Records check equipment ("equipment"). A table has the equipment, the other is supposed to record checkout of the shares ("order"). Here is the code for the drop down menu on the first page and in the action page and the request:

Query = "qry_item."
value = "id".
display = "description" >

FORMFIELDS = "id, fname, lname, phone, electronic mail" >

It's pretty simple. You have a form called "Item" field
Do you see 'Point' in the setting your tag FORMFIELDS?

If you don't tell the tag to insert a field that's usually what you
tell him and does not insert the field.
