Inspiron 1720 with sigmatel audio

Inspiron 1720 with Vista Home Premium which has audio Sigmatel.

I hope someone has some tips that can help me. I try to use either Gamevoice/VoiceBuddy for adding voice command to my games.

Unfortunately, the Gamevoice software tells me my audio equipment is unable to read and if you use the microphone Voicebuddy does not initialize. In this case, if I use the built-in microphone or a headset.

I tried to upgrade to the latest Sigmatel drivers, without success. In fact they caused me problems of development and I had to back off.

Cannot give more information at the moment because I'm at work. But if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. I will update this with more hardware and driver details after I go home.

  • Inspiron 1720 microphone cross does not

    Hi all

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 with windows XP SP3 and the driver sigmatel R171789, and even if I tried the solution suggested by http://dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=insp_audio&message.id=29912 I am still unable to hear the microphone through the speakers.

I read in another post that might be due to the version of the drivers that I use, but then I would like to know if it is possible to get an older version.

    Any help, please?

  • Inspiron 1720 WXGA upgrade to WUXGA

I want to update some of my components on my laptop. I have the Inspiron 1720 with the WXGA screen, I want to know if I can improve it for the WXGA. If it is possible, will it take a new inverter Board? Thanks in advance.

Indeed, will need you a new Panel and inverter, plus a new cable LVDS (the cable that connects the motherboard and display within the system board).

Given the age of the system, expect a decline as well major performance (higher resolution screen will require much more GPU power to run).

  • Problem of choppy / skipping audio Dell Inspiron 1720

    Hello

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 and any time I try to play mp3 with Media Monkey or even Windows Media player, I get a jerky sound or jump slightly.  I looked into the Task Manager and my CPU usage and the memory never get more than 45%.  I have Windows Vista installed.  Could be the problem?  I think that the audio device is SigmaTel.  When I do a search for new audio drivers, it says that they are all to date.  Help, please!  I'm at my wits end here!

    Thank you!

  • 2 months old Inspiron 1720 (Vista Ultimate) - No. Audio except the system beeps

First, let me preface this by saying that I'm certainly not a novice computer user.  I am a software engineer and have worked with Vista systems for more than a year.  All of a sudden a few days ago, I noticed my audio stopped working on my 2 months, Inspiron 1720 (Windows Vista Ultimate Edition and SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC).  When I try to manually start the service Windows Audio from the Service Control Manager it says "Windows didn't start the Windows Audio service on Local computer."  Error 1068: the dependency service or group could start. "I then try to start the dependent service MMCSS and get manually:"Windows could not start the MMCSS service on Local computer.  «Error 193: 0xc1»  Look in the event viewer under Windows Logs--> system, I see an error message: "the MMCSS service terminated with the following error: MMCSS is not a valid Win32 application."

I first tried to download the latest audio driver from the Dell website and reinstall the driver.   When it does work, I called Dell and spent the afternoon with them trying to use the system restore to load several different restore points, eventually go all the way back to the original restore point (2 months ago).  None of the restore points will not load successfully.  Dell said it's a software problem and perhaps a trampled on their "QuickSet" application and recommended Microsoft Update I download the latest driver for QuickSet and reinstall.  I did this and still no sound.

Looking for MSDN and Google I stumbled upon a few elements that mention a Windows Update (1 of 3 pre-Vista SP1 update pushed last week) that caused a few problems and was later fired by Microsoft (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937287 and http://www.news.com/Microsoft-pulls-Vista-SP1-update/2100-1016_3-6231299.html?tag=ne.fd.mnbc).

Given that, I looked at my history of update and, of course, the 937287 update has been installed on 15-02-08 (which always is my audio stopped working).  However, this update cannot be removed.

At this point I don't know if the problem is with the update of Microsoft or something else and am running out of ideas to solve this without reloading the original image and lose all my data.

  • Inspiron 1420 - Windows 7, SigmaTel Audio

    Model: Inspiron 1420
Pilot: SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC

Hello. I recently upgraded my Inspiron 1420 Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) for Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit). The upgrade was very successful with the exception of audio problems.

The problem is very strange, at least for me. I have three audio ports on the front (two headphones and a microphone). Both headphones work fine, but the port of microphonoe no longer works. This problem occurred after my Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade. It didn't when I was still on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. I don't really know what the problem is. It seems that the audio cuts when I try to go into the selection of "Recording devices", when I right click on the volume in my taskbar icon. The sound cuts.

An example error message would be when I choose recording devices while Windows Media Player is running (play music too, of course), I would get this message: 'an audio device has been disconnected or reconfigured. Make sure the audio device is connected, and then try to replay the point."
Other audio problems would be video games such as counter-strike (for those who are familiar with this game). I would like to start the game, but there is no sound. I reduce and there is still no sound. It's only when I leave the game my audio would return.

Again, I don't know exactly what the problem. Maybe my model (Inspiron 1420) does not support Windows 7 Ultimate? Is there a driver for my SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC driver updates?

For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    -Khoi

Given that you've gone from Home Premium, Ultimate, you had to do a reinstall (you can not simply be upgraded).  With an installation of 'new', you have to install all the drivers (Win 7 can install some) but you should also install any chipset not install drivers before installation of the device drivers or devices will be either or not install correctly.

There are two chipset drivers listed on the download page for Vista 32-bit, and they should work on Win 7 32 bit (regardless of Version).  There is also a SigmaTel driver on downloads.  Download and install the two drivers from the chipset, then the Sigma Tel and see if that corrects the problem.

  • [Inspiron E1705/9400] [SigmaTel] No work of audio headphones,

    Hello

I'm sorry for the numerous typos :)

I have an Inspiron 9400 with audio card SigmaTel. Unfortunately, it does not work. Speakers are not violated, and when I use headphones (with headphones), I can hear sounds. Windows has been reinstalled and installed the audio drivers from dell.com. But the speakers (Windows XP Home SP2), there is no sound.

I made the diagnosis (F12 at startup) and speakers, there are sounds! I don't know what to do in this situation. Help, please.

    Greetings,

    Simon

  • Are you afraid to upgrade to Vista Sp1 with peripheral Sigmatel audio? Why...! ?

    Hello.

I have an Ispiron 6400 with the 9200 "lucky" Sigmatel audio device.

    A little review:

Device driver SigmaTel is a problem with Vista SP1, and you cannot download it from Windows update.

Windows Update suggests the IDT High definition audio installation which should replace the Sigmatel driver but causes an unexpected error = no audio device installed, RIGHT!

But now, you can download Vista SP1... GREAT!

But first I decided to remove the IDT instrument, but to do this I need to delete all Sigmatel applications as IDT pilot install itself on and in the old software so I reinstall the Sigmatel driver form Dell site (R147073).

Audio device is now works well but... Oh miracle... now after this little joke Windows Vista sp1 is available in windows update...

So make the choice for me:

    (1) "now" the driver is compatible with windows vista sp1 and I should update

    (2) someone suggest installing the Sigmatel R147075 driver but I would like evidence that is not designed for the Inspiron system and for example it does not recognize SPDIF and he sees two different microphone that does not exist however, it is compatible SP1 and I should update

    (3) I probably found a bug in the windows vista update, and now he thinks that I don't have a Sigmatel device and I shouldn't update.

    (4) I'm afraid

Dell, please you are ready with the driver for your new laptop, my laptop support... I bought it 1 year ago... and it's always covered... Your support is excellent, why change? Give to use precise indication...

PS... Download driver IDT is currently not available from windows update... funny, isn't it? It's like Office genuine advantage... present last week and after he disappeared... I'm afraid

  • Inspiron 1720 on XP no sound or bluetooth

    Hello

I have an Inspiron 1720 provided with Vista, which I hated, so I installed XP. Now I can't the sounds or bluetooth drivers to install. It came with a cd of Audigy Advanced MB, which indicates that it can only install on Vista. Drivers Dell Online has a Sigmatel STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio driver for Vista and XP, that will not install. Install the XP version falls down. Similar situation with the bluetooth driver, but there is no line, just a version of Vista that will not install XP version.

    Any help much appreciated.

  • Performance issues on Inspiron 1720

In recent weeks, I am the proud owner of an Inspiron 1720. While I'm very happy with the laptop - I think even my sales office for the moment - there is a problem I have on audio.

Whenever I'm playing music, this either using Winamp or Media Player, I'm starting to have serious performance problems. Applications suddenly stop responding or respond to a slow pace, and the strange thing is that these performance problems disappear as soon as stops audio playback. For example, if a windows unresponsive, I simply hit the hotkey "stop" or "pause", stops audio, and a fraction of a second performance shoots through the roof again.

I use Vista Home Premium SP1 and the latest drivers available on the Dell site. It is not related to SP1 by the way, I have experienced the problem before the update to SP1 as well.

    A short diagnosis:

    • Manager tasks does no spikes in usage of CPU or memory that are worth noting.
    • It is also obviously not related to the audio player that I use for the Winamp and WMP have the problem. Memory of Winamp, use exceeds 10 megabytes - and its often much less than that.
    • Strange as it may be: the problem does not occur when that I consult a movie DivX by WMP. Can it be linked to an audio codec any?

That's as much information as I am able to provide at present. Someone at - it tips or ideas on how to solve this puzzle?

  • Problems with Maxx Audio after Windows 10 'upgrade '.

It seems I'm not the only one with this problem. I use a laptop computer Inspiron 17R 5737 provided with Windows 8.1. After upgrading to Windows 10, I noticed two things: 1. audio Dell, my Waves Maxx Audio 4 works, but miss me all my presets in the QE and I'm actually not able to set ALL the parameters at all. I called Dell 3 times now, for a total of 6 hours on the phone, where they had me not uninstall, then download and reinstall the Realtek audio driver. After you have downloaded and installed 2 times, the EQUALIZER presets are back, but I still cannot do anything else in the program. I noticed, after the first time, update the driver causing the error with Maxx Audio. So the second time I reinstalled it, I do NOT update the driver, but I am still unable to make any changes to the program. It's very frustrating because I record music and mix the final product with my laptop.

The 2nd question I have to be carried out in another forum, as it has to do with my laptop to wake up do not sleep mode.

The audio issue any help would be highly appreciated.

I solved this problem first by downloading the latest audio drivers from Dell Realtek. For my XPS15/M3800 is Realtek ALC3661 Audio Codec version 6.0.1.7525, A00. It is a download of 325MB. After installing it and going through 1 or 2 reboots, my Dell Audio Sound Manager has been restored, but all presets MaxxAudio were missing. To resolve this problem, I opened the Manager of devices--> sound, video and game controllers, the user clicks Realtek High Definition Audio and selected update driver software. I chose automatically search for updates. Windows has found a version update 6.0.1.7628, installed, rebooted and then my presets have been restored.

  • Dell Inspiron 3542 - jack combo audio problem

    Hello world!

First of all, sorry for my English. I use windows pro 8.1 and I downloaded driver realtek here (6.0.1.7161)

First problem: I am using a mobile headset - plug with 4 segments (plug PLUG) but it is not the job. Do not recognize the microphone. I have a splitter (1 x male jack Setero > 2 x female 4 pins) and it does not work too. I think it's a software problem. If I just plug a microphone, it's work.

Second problem: I can not disable only the internal mic. If I disable this mic off at all (so internal and external too). Because don't separate the two micro.

    Solve everything? Thank you!

Hello. It's the correct driver and the only one that Dell has published for the Inspiron 3542.

    AnsSPapi
If I just plug a microphone, it's work.

A microphone with a TRS (3 contacts) record is not supposed to work in a PLUG socket (4 contacts). The laptop could have the evil inside Jack. Contact technical support to report this problem.

This is normal on laptops Dell with Realtek audio.
