  The YELLOW LED on the CHIP (on the motherboard) must light up when the machine is connected, and the green light on the back indicates AC power.  You have a DEAD power supply.

  I have problems with my laptop. I bought it July 18, 2013. In a first time that power would take like a minute to turn it on, I thought it was normal, so I saw nothing wrong with it. It would not turn, I looked online for answers. Found one that told me to remove the battery and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to reset the RAM. It worked a little. Recently, I have to repeat this process several times. I managed to do turn on Sunday 9/22, but today the 23 it lights. I tried for an hour so he can turn it on by resetting the RAM. I tried to plug it into the charger, the green light on the charger is displayed but the battery on the laptop light is not. I don't know if there is something else I should try, if its something that I could have done him or I just a faulty laptop. Unfortunately, I don't have a warranty on it, but if you could tell me how much it will cost I will not fail to do so as soon as POSSIBLE. Thanks for any help that you could give me.

  HIE I have a dell inspiron15 3521 with O.S windows 8, the problem is that I was traveling to school and I closed the computer to Hibernate, but when I got to that was the end of it, its now refusing to start trying to press the power button for at least 2 minutes but nothing happened help pliz.

I disconnected the electrical surge protecter, plugged in the wall and still nothing. I was looking online for 2 hours on what to do and im a loss. I have to go back to the store, or is there something else to do for this problem? Thanks for any help

  I have an inspiron 660 s which does not illuminate.  The green power light is on in the back.  Nothing happens when I hit the power button.  No lights or the beeps.  The machine is about a year and a half old.  Tried to unplug and power drain.  Still nothing.  Help please.  Thank you.

  You can always update your firmware with iTunes. But it seems you might have a larger, likely hardware problem with your phone.

  Try to restore the firmware with iTunes. If this does not help, make an appointment with a genius at the Apple Store.

  My 2009 iMac monitor is black and does not illuminate.  It has been connected to different computers, macbook pro and a mac mini with the same result. Is there something that can be done or is it just toast?

  Try to zap the PRAM or reset the SMC.

  I just encountered the same problem. While watching the TV, it shuts down suddenly. Even model & 18 months and now dead. If I leave it plugged in now, we get the same thing - the power switch flashes between green and Red intermittently seconds or - but no picture at all.

  What's wrong?

  Sometimes people sell books with the failure to display or other parts of damage, but the motherboard is ok.
  You can try to use second hand motherboard in your laptop.
