Instability of connection WAN R7000 Nighthawk

Hello

my router disconnects randomly WAN in intervals ranging from 2 to 30 minutes for 5 to 30 seconds. My ISP gave me a Technicolor TC 7200 modem, which is connected via a network cable Cat5.e.

My network usually consists of ~ 8 devices: 4 wired, wireless 4.

I tried the original firmware, last of netgear, tomato and DD - WRT, connectivity problems are always the same (regardless of the connected device, with or without wire). I've already replaced all in my configuration network cables - and nothing helped.

When I use the router as a simple access point (router and modem on the same subnet: 192.168.0.x, modem provides IP addresses), the WAN connection is rock stable. Connectivity problems simply appear when I use the router in router mode (modem: 192.168.0.x, dhcp server disabled; router: 192.168.1.x, dhcp-server is enabled).

Because I am not ready to use my router in this way: you have suggestions that the case might be?

I never had problems like this with my previous router, which has been implemented in a similar way.

I already tried other things:

(1) replace the router with a new

(2) change the dns servers at different

(3) change the settings of the dns of my clients the [router.ip] [dns.ips], so directly to set dns servers

(4) contact netgear support (they suggested to use the router in AP mode)

(5) disable TCP/IP v6

(6) disable TCP/IP offloading

Although it is not able to connect to different websites during a connection failure, I see events Client DNS in Windows with the event ID 1014 Event Viewer, saying the "Name Resolution for the name XXX expired after none answered configured DNS servers."

Well it seems that there are problems of compatibility between the Netgear and Technicolor. Could contact you your ISP to see if they can provide a different model of modem?

  • How can I get my Windows Vista laptop to connect to my Netgear R7000 Nighthawk

I just bought a router Netgear R7000 AC1900 Nighthawk.  I works very well with all my computers with any operating systems except my wife of Acer Windows Vista.  Netgear technology could not operate either except when we connected as a guest without security protection.  I do not to run like that because of the lack of security.  The technology said that my version of Vista apparently did not have the right drivers for the router.  It works very well with my connected Ethernet Windows XP system, so it seems strange that the old system would have to the newer system drivers with no.  Anyone have any ideas?

  • R7000 Nighthawk Wired is faster than the wireless

I currently use a Nighthawk R7000 and after the speed test internet using speedtest.net, I found that a desktop computer that is connected directly with ethernet is more than 100 Mbps faster than a wireless laptop which is the only room away from the router (wired office gets 140 ~-~ 160 Mbit/s, while the laptop is ~ 30-40 ~ Mbps). Any help would be great.

Thanks to all who tried to help, but he had a friend IT of my father who came and said: it's a certain chip (or something of the kind) in my computer that was wrong, so we got a Linksys adapter Max - Stream AC600 WiFi Micro USB. My ISP have active DHCP and my old router was just set up to automatically get and it just worked.

Now I have implemented mt LRT214 in the same way. Router mode: Bridge, WAN: get an ip via DHCP. Nothing else configured.

Now, after a minute or so he obtain an IP and DNS, default GW. Everything is great and I can't Web browser.

Now, after a minute or two then the connection to the Wan has been abandoned. Wait a minute and his place again. Another minute and it falls again. And so on and so forth.

  • VPN spans more than two connections WAN on Cisco ASA?

    Hello

I have a quick question for you guys, I'm not too sure if you can do it.

Basically, you connect two offices together and need higher bandwidth between sites via VPN. The main site has a leased line and the remote site has a SDSL connection with a secondary line ADSL with another provider, in failover mode.

There is a Cisco ASA 5520 to the master branch and 5510 remotely, with a VPN site-to site between sites.  Is it possible to use the command-line failover to increase our bandwidth over the site to site VPN? I mean, it's create a VPN link combined with the two WAN?

DrayTek have a feature on their 2930 series that allows you to perform this VPN called trunk/collage. I was wondering if this is possible on the Cisco ASA? If not, is anyway could I do this with any additional material? I don't want to use the Draytek to the mainsite, obviously because the load he'd probably kill, but I'm not against the use of this on the remote site in front of the ASA.

    Thanks in advance.

There is no feature of the ASA that does what you ask, as much as I KNOW.

Depending on your traffic profile, you might be able to hack a solution by creating two VPN site-to-site (one per SDSL) and other agents via ADSL and by applying the cryptomap for a portion of the traffic to one and the rest of the traffic to the other.

  • Connections RV042G Dual WAN

We are a Cisco DPC3825 provided by our ISP cable modem connection.  It has been configured to act as a switch only.  They provided us with 2 static IP addresses.

When each WAN port is connected individually, all right.  I see the IP addresses on the respective WAN port, and it works fine.

When I connect the two WAN ports to the modem at the same time, I see a large amount of traffic between the WAN ports, as indicated by the port LEDs, and the RV042G becomes totally inadmissible through its web interface.

How can I get the RV042G working with two connected WAN ports?

Hi Rory, I'm not sure that the CPD is designed to aggregate in this way traffic. I wouldn't be surprised if he made a loop network, especially if you see a lot of broadcast or multicast packets.

The most typical deployment has usually 2 connections that are unique modems.  I would suspect your 2 static IP addresses are on the same subnet / block ip that the router do not know how to react to load balance this scenario since he's going to the same destination in turn causing a loop until resources are consumed.

  • R7000 as router with the router for mobile broadband Internet

Hey guys. First of all, my apologies for my somewhat inadequate English skills. Secondly, I am brand new to the community, so apologies in advance for any fault :-) Third stop, apologize for having a complete beginner :-D

So, for the issue: I recently bought a router top mobile broadband 4G (4 G MBR) to my apartment, because of the gap of strength and speed signal very low quality of the cable to the ground on my Street (fiber is to come next year).

But the router provided by my operator isn't on par with my router R7000 Nighthawk when he comes to reach wifi, wifi speed, number of outputs of LAN and power of the processor.

So, I want to use my R7000 my router, the internet signal from the air to the 4G MBR, then by cable to the WAN of the R7000.
In other words; I want to just 4G MBR to simply pass / transfer the internet signal to my nighthawk R7000 router so I can use the R7000 as my router, LAN and wifi.

How can I set this up?

    Thanks for your help!

Update: the MBR has been no help at all. As far as I could tell, there is no possibility to bridge or pass-through mode. The R7000, as she does the work. I just put it in AP mode, adjust all the wired connections DHCP/auto IP assign and everything works great.

  • The R7000 in Bridge Mode installation program

I'm the new owner of two routers in R7000 Nighthawk. An I configured as a router - it is connected to a modem cable from Arris Surfboard 6190 and work perfectly with wire and wirelsss customers who are connected.

I want to put in place the other Nighthawk in mode bridge next to the audio-visual equipment that I use mainly for broadcasting. I have install the second Nighthawk and configured using the bridge in accordance with these instructions. I have ethernet connecting the Nighthawk router upstaris in office and Nighthawk bridge in the room AV. I waited as the two devices connect via ethernet cable (which is connected through a port on the router's LAN and the WAN port in the bridge), but it's not happening - shows the bridge as it is connected to the wireless router. In addition, I have devices (e., g Apple TV) connected by ethernet bridge, but in terms of devices connected to the router, these devices have a wireless network, not a wired connection.

Am I wrong in my setup? Thanks to adcvance!

    -Scot

I'll try this one last time.

    Already at the hotel?

They use certain hotels use of AP dozens of them.

They also have a SSID to cover ALL rooms.

You're on this thought rather than take my suggestions.

    Operating instructions AP

use the same SSID on each band 2.4 xxx yyyy & 5G

    Use different channels 2.4 1.6 or 11 5 g 48 or 161

Use the same level of safety on all

Doing this for 5 years IT DOES NOT WORK.

  • PS4 2 stay connected at the same time...

Guys and girls, I'm begging for your help. I moved last year and bought the R7000 nighthawk and since then, my son and I have been unable to play the same game with our PS4. We play Battlefield 4 to be precise and every time now that we are trying to link to the top of one of us gets kicked and the error always says "interruption of the connection to the session. We never had this problem before. I did everything I can do with my limited skills irritable. Help, please.

Wow, I fixed it after all this time. I deleted things forward port, I did months ago and I did the port forwarding for one of the ps4. Tested and BAM! Perfect! Thank you to all who responded.

  • Extension of WiFi at R7000

    HI -.

I recently installed a R7000 Nighthawk, but he needs a range extension to access certain parts of the House. The R7000 is rated AC1900. I think buying the EX6150 range extender, which is rated at AC1200. Is it still compatible with the R7000, but at a slower speed? I put off buying an AC1900 Extender because the price is 2 - 3 times an AC1200 unit.

Thanks a lot for any advice.

    Peter

Should work, and as you said, more slow - but 50 percent slower, due to the Extender of nature, they are penalized at about 50% loss of flow. I would suggest buying a router that can operate in Access Point, with connection mode direct etehrnet, back to your router, or seek to connect the router and the AP with powerline ethernet products.

  • Nighthawk D7800 and BT Infinity 2

My first time here so apologies for any errors of Protocol.

I bought the Nighthawk to replace my BT Homehub 3 and a modem to connect to broadband Infinity 2 (fiber).

I managed to connect to the internet via the BT modem so I know the system works. What I want to do is to connect the modem to the Nighthawk directly to the internet. I don't think that this can be done unless someone can tell me otherwise.

I, the tongue in cheek, contacted BT and confirmed that they use a system of wiring on the telephone connection to connect to fiber (FTTC) via the copper to the home line, which is unique. The phone connector uses only the Center contacts both in the plug, connected to which wires I don't know, while the Nighthawk uses all four threads, it seems. BT does not use a filter on the line because it is built in the area of incoming phone line. So the Nighthawk can only connect directly from the VDSL Jack to the telephone line. The internet connection on the Nighthawk decision-making only connects to the BT modem.

So, is it possible to connect to the fiber using the Nighthawks modem? I've conversed with support from Netgear and in their described wisdom and got sent - the manual method of Nighthawk, which I already explained did not have what I wanted. I'm still waiting for a further response from support, but not holding my breath.

It seems that I bought a very expensive router!

    Michael,

    Popular sympathy.

My Nighthawk played happily with internet provided that I have connected through my BT modem. The reason why I got the D7800 was because I wanted to use it a modem not BT proposing to connect to my fiber (sic, English).

I don't think right now that Netgear has a modem that is able to connect to the infinite fiber BT service.

I think I'll draw a line under this thread and concede defeat.

    Thank you
