install Oracle on RedHat Linux AS4 iAS

Hi all

We need to install Oracle iAS 10.1.2.0.2 on RedHat Linux AS4
but some packages are required to complete the installation as

* 2.3.4 glibc - 2.9
* glibc-common - 2.3.4 - 2: 9
* binutils - 2.15.92.0.2 - 13
* compat-libstdc ++ - 296 - 2, 96 - 132.7.2
* gcc - 3.4.3 - 22.1
* gcc - c++ - 3.4.3 - 22.1
* libstdc ++ - 3.4.3 - 22.1
* libstdc ++ - devel - 3.4.3 - 22.1
* openmotif21 - 2.1.30 - 11.RHEL4.4
* pdksh - 5.2.14 - 30
* setarch-1, 6-1
* make-3, 80-5
* gnome-libs - 1.4.1.2.90 - 44.1
* sysstat - 5.0.5 - 1
* compat - 4.1.25 - DB9
* control center - 2.8.0 - 12
* xscreensaver - 4.18 - 5.rhel4.2
===================================
the system already have these packages, but some of them is the low version

as
2.3.4 glibc - 2.9 > > > > > we only glibc - 2.3.4 - 2

==============

I tried RPM sites to find the most recent version but without any power

Please advice if I install iAS on existing packaging, it will reflect on installation.performance or stability after that

  • Oracle 11 g 2 11.2.0.3 Server install RAC (ASM) redhat linux 6 asmlib?

    I installed Oracle RAC (asm) on Red Hat Linux 4 and 5 without problems by using NFS and creating shared files and presented them to the DSO as devices without any problem.

    Now I meet with Oracle 11 g 2 ASM installation on Red Hat Linux 6.1 and the installation documentation is inaccuracies on how I can use shared NFS this empty asm files so that I can properly install the DSO. I understand that Oracle does not provide ASMLib for raw devices for Red Hat linux 6 going forward.

    I understand that asmlib must not be supported on Red Hat Linux 6 forward however I would appreciate information in support of the DSO on Red Hat Linux 6 using NFS share and create empty files with jj. This worked on Linux 5 and I'll try to find a solution.

    Hello

    If it comes to cluvfy in the program installation you indicating that your devices are not shared, contempt which (if you personally know that they are shared).
    This seems to be an annoying error with cluvfy, the shared disk check only works in specific circumstances...

    To be honest, I never saw him work properly, so I'm testing the devices 'sharedness' always myself (dd in on a node, dd on the other to see the results expected).

    If the error happens however at a date later (root.sh), then the devices are really not shared, or you have a permissions problem.

  • missing files from src to install R on redhat linux 6

    I'm trying to follow the instructions here:

    Installation of Oracle R R Enterprise

    Under redhat instructions do not say what to install, but I guess it would be the same as OEL6:

    R 3.0.1 - 2.el6.x86_64.rpm

    R base - 3.0.1 - 2.el6.x86_64.rpm

    R devel - 3.0.1 - 2.el6.x86_64.rpm

    libRmath - 3.0.1 - 2.el6.x86_64.rpm

    libRmath-devel - 3.0.1 - 2.el6.x86_64.rpm

    If the following dependent on number of TOWERS is not automatically included, then download and install it explicitly.

    texinfo-tex-4.13a-8.el6.x86_64.rpm

    OK so he says to those like CBC to install:

    Index of/OracleLinux/repo/OL6.

    problem 1 where are they? You need to find yourself. I think so:

    Index of/repo/OracleLinux/OL6/addons/x86_64 /.

    Promising because

    R 3.0.1 - 2.el6.src.rpm

    is there, but none of the others are there as CBC. So how do you install this?

    Never mind. I misunderstood the process. I thought that there were several source rpms.

    There are currently only a single CBC and you compile just that:

    rpmbuild - reconstruction /rpmbuild/SRPMS/R-3.0.1-2.el6.src.rpm

    This creates a number of RPM. But you only install one of these:

    such as:

    rpm-i /root/rpmbuild/RPMS/x86_64/R-core-3.0.1-2.el6.x86_64.rpm

    Hello

    You must run Quick Setup again on the application tier node after copying the configuration file 'conf_.txt' from the data base-level node. Please note that the staging area directory which will be used for installation should be accessible by both nodes. Search the manual for 'conf_.txt' and you should get these details.

  • need information about the definition of oracle var redhat Linux 5

    I just want to keep all of my variables environment permanently in .bash_profile. Is there harm in doing this?

    Please let me know.

    THX,
    Til

    Yes, every time connect us and want to recycle a few settings env, we need to keep adding to .bash_profile.

    Thus each new session will have the values defined.

    What ever the controls you set the env, even should be added in .bash_profile.

    For example to set ORACLE_SID

    export ORACLE_SID = abc

  • install oracle via xterminal client

    Hi experts,
    We have a request to install oracle on the linux server.
    Citrix allows us to connect to the remote linux server.
    I've never used xterminal, I use other graphical tools like humming bird and vnc server.
    Please help me how to use xterm to install oracle cleint?

    Thank you

    You should be able to use VNC on Linux.

    If you must use xterm, then you need a client on your PC that supports xterm. Humminbird Exceed can do that. Personally, I use Cygwin, because it's free.

    There are several ways to configure xterm, but basically you have Xterm running on your PC and allowing connections (xhost +) and a session on the server which has DISPLAY =: 0.0 together. Then execute runInstaller, and the window should display on your PC.

    You could also do a silent installation.

    (1) the installation of almost all Oracle products in the variants of Linux or Unix will fail usually tempted by the root. (IOW - do not use Root)

    (2) any person who uses the root on a regular basis in Linux long-term demand questions. Root is the system maintenance - use required wehen and out. It is not an aphrodesiac for users.

    (3) If you have unzipped the installation CD, you can check the permissions of the runInstaller. (ls - l)
