Install software on a Non-Admin of the network account?

Hello world

I want to install software on an account in the same network that has no administrator rights to install any software. How can I install without the help of Active Directory? I have an admin account, and I think that could help, but how I could manage to do the installation?

Could someone help me with this please?

Thank you

  • After a clean install of Windows Vista, Intel Wifi card is installed and activated, but does not detect the network.

Wireless card not working after a clean install of Windows Vista

I did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion of 32 bits. I've completely updated Windows via Service Pack 2. Given that the clean install, my wireless card, Intel (r) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, was not able to detect all the networks. The Wifi card is listed under NICs as being installed and activated. the hardware on my laptop Wifi switch is set on "on" and the light is blue, indicating that the card is working.

I can connect to the internet if I connect physically my computer to the modem with an ethernet cable wireless, so the modem isn't the problem. Other computers can connect to the wireless modem, so my Wifi modem functionality is not the problem. The problem with my computer.

I tried to uninstall the Intel driver and reboot my computer with the generic driver. Install the driver generic, but my wireless card has not always worked. I then ran an update of windows, nothing helps.

I tried to install the "Intel® PRO /? Wireless and WiFi Link"drivers for Windows Vista (32-bit 13.1.1.1 the latest version and the previous version 12.4.4.5 32-bit) for the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN directly from the Intel Web site at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Wireless+WiFi+Link+4965AGN. The map didn't always work with a driver.

In addition to the pilots, I also downloaded a tool of diagnosis of Intel (Intel® PROSet /?) Utility of WiFi wireless connection for Windows Vista 32 -? Bit). Said diagnostic tool the WiFi card is not installed or enabled, however, Device Manager maintains that he is also installed and active.

Is there a problem that causes Device Manager to say that all is well with the card, but does not map to realize that they diminish the radio signals? Everything's fine, diagnostic, it just does not detect networks around him. Help, please.

Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

    Hey @westmj,

I have another idea to work around the error "printer installation failed. Can I please you try the following steps.

    1. run the installer as per normal

    2. When you get the error message after your network printer has been detected, you should be able to select 'Next' to continue the installation

    3. Once installation is complete the 'Add a device' icon should be on your desktop

    4. click on the Start menu

    5. Select the devices and printers

    6. in the devices window and printers, if you see your HP Officejet please right click and select 'remove an instrument' or 'Remove'.

7 click on any device in devices and printers under printers and faxes section just to highlight. Click the print server properties above. Click the drivers tab.

8 search for the driver for the HP Officejet 6500 series. If you select it and click delete at the bottom. In the window Remove Driver and package select Remove Driver only. Click OK. Finally, click apply and then OK in the print server properties window.

    9. on the computer desktop, click on the link Add a device that was placed there by the installer.

  • Wrt1900acs nine installed today - peripheral unknown offline appearing in the network map

Installed my new wrt1900acs today, began to connect devices, signed for the Smart Wifi Linksys. The network card correctly displays all connected devices, but there is a mystery device appear offline. I have used Parental controls to block access to this device until I can find more.

How would a device appear? It should be linked at some point?  The new router has only been for 3-4 hours.  I connected only 2 laptops, a desk and a phone to iOS. Have not connected my non - iOS wifes phone still.  There are also 2 other routers and networks connected to the same Comcast modem.

The mystery device is presented as "generic device" with only a name and a MAC address.  I was able to remove, but did not know if there was a simple explanation for it.

Yes it should have been connected or on the network at any given time.

Use the clear network adapter icon in the top-right corner of the user interface to allow the map to regenerate. I could take a few minutes.

  • 7210 driver installed ok but can't find on the network

Hello and thanks in advance for reading.

    I have an Officejet 7210.

I used on a network before without any problem, but put in place years ago. Since I used it on a USB connection, but wanted to get on the network, we can print wireless.

Currently it is wired to my router Linksys and I have assigned a static IP address of 192.168.1.148. This laptop is connected to the same wireless network, and from there I have no problem connecting to http://192.168.1.148 in a web browser to access the config and can also send a scan job through as well without any problems.

However, I can't understand how to add this printer at all so I can send print jobs. I have no success adding.

I use XP and installed HP multi-function products driver Bundle - Corporate only from this page. After that it extracted the files in the folder HP_WebRelease, I ran setup.exe it and he reportedly installed a bunch of stuff, but did not attempt to actually find the printer. When I tried to add the printer via the standard start > settings > printers and faxes, I can't recognize my printer on the network, and if I put http://192.168.1.148 in the URL field, it is not successful.

I tried to uninstall all printer software HP of Add/Remove Programs, and then restart, then install this same company pilot beam once again, which had no effect.

I then returned to the same page of the HP driver and tried to install the software/driver of basic function of HP . Same results with this one. But I do not think that I took the time to uninstall everything completely from the Group of companies.

If someone could suggest my next step to get this object linked, I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you

    Mark,

I think that you will need followi the instructions in the Readme file in the extracted directory. On XP, it should be here:

    C:\temp\HP_WebRelease\Setup\Enterprise\readme

If you want to do a full manual installation, the sequence for XP:

    1. Click on the 'Start' button--> printers and fax machines.
    2. Under print jobs, click on "add a printer".
    3. Click 'Next' in the Add Printer Wizard window.
    4. Select "local printer attached to this computer. Deselect "automatically detect and install my Plug and play printer." Click "next".
    5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and choose "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next".
    6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port Wizard" make sure that the printer is enabled and configured. Click on the button "next".
    7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the IP address of the printer (normally I would put the name of the printer here, but you use a static IP address for the printer). Click 'Next' and then click 'Finish '.
    8. Now, select HP in the manufacturers list, select your printer in the list of the models of printers and click the button "next".
    9. Keep the existing driver and click "next".
    10. Add the name of print spooler, and then click "next".
    11. Click "next".
    12. Click "Next" and "Finish."
  • System default admin for the guest account

    original title: system admin__

How to make so that the main user... (System Administrator) the main user on the page "comments"? So I don't have to ask permission to download things.

It can be done - especially because of reasons of programming and security. In fact, you really should not use the guest at all account (for the same reason - pirates too know it is there and can often enter your system through it).  The best approach is to create a standard user for guests account and just leave the guest account disabled.  Yes, I know that the account exists and it is not well said by Microsoft about it, but to be on these forums and see thousands of posts, I can tell you that most experts and authors of long-term response do not recommend its use at all.  Most would have a fit to the idea of giving this account of administrative privileges (and thank God that you proposed is not possible).  I mean really, you honestly want to give a guest (even your best friend or a parent) THAT kind of access to your system and your files?  Even if it were possible, I would NEVER consider such a thing.

Again, I suggest you to disable the account invited and set up a standard account for your guests.  It's much safer and not that much more work for all the world.  In addition, since it implies that this is the case, I suggest that you do not use an administrator account for day-to-day activities (for security reasons - if someone hacks in there they have access to your entire system!).  Set up a regular user account to use on a daily basis and use the account administrator only when necessary.

I hope this helps and even if it wasn't the answer you wanted to hear, it's the answer you needed to hear.  A good firewall and security software cannot go that far (and necessary), but you must also practice good safety habits as well.  I can't tell you how many people I have seen here that have been hacked or attacked by malicious software not because they had not the right software installed and running, but because of the way they have used their system (absence of passwords, wireless unsecured, leave the machine unattended without first locking or at least using a locking screen saver) ,...).  And in some cases, the only way to recover was a clean install, and they lost all their programs and settngs (although most were able to record their data with our help).  I really want to see you back here as one of those people.

    Good luck!

  • Install HP Officejet 6500 E709n failure - can't see the printer on the network

My HP Officejet 6500 E709n refuses to acknowledge that he is already on the network a specific IP address and used by other computers in my house. How can I get this software install to work?  I have to let Windows 7 install its own version, which worked (sort of).  I prefer having the center of solutions for scanning, but the HP install software (full version), in contrast to the MS Windows 7 software, can't find the printer on the network, even when I give the software the exact IP address.

(Yes, I uninstalled all the pieces I had to uninstall in Control Panel by the NSB instructions re-re-re-install software page.)

    Hi rchimes,

Thank you for the update. If you are unable to get the problem solved after using the doctor print and Scan follow the steps to scrub the software on the computer and then reinstall it.

    First step: clear temp directory

    1. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field

2 Select all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to remove. If you receive a message that the file is in use, you will need to ignore this file (s).

    3. proceed to step 2 below

Second step: downloaded and extracted to your system:

1 download the drivers and full software features

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/WC/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=MP-77752-2&CC=US&DLC=en&LC=en&os=4063&Product=3795406&sw_lang=

    2. once the download is complete, double-click the file to extract the software.

    3. when the installation window opens, press the Cancel button to stop the installation

    4. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field

    5. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)

    6. right click on the folder and select copy

    7. close this window and all open windows, and then in the Middle the desktop right click your mouse and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder on your desktop.

8 open the 7z, that you just copied on your desktop

    9 open the Util folder

    10 open the CCC folder

    11 start the uninstall_L4

    12. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

    13. run disk cleanup from the tools Accessories\ system under all programs folder

    14. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

    Hi @jrmunn ,

I want to help you get the printer works on the wireless network.

There are a few different ways to install the printer on the wireless network.

    • Thanks to the support WPS.
    • Through the installation, by connecting the USB port, it will configure the wireless.
    • Once the USB installation is done. You can configure the wireless via an Ethernet connection.

    Cycle power to the router.

First, we must restore the defaults on the printer.

Press the OK button on the printer, go to the service, and then select restore default settings.

Print a printer configuration page to make sure that the IP address and SSID are erased.

    Print a Configuration report.

    Uninstall the printer software.

    WPS configuration method:

To connect your printer to your wireless router wireless using WPS:
    (your router must support WPS)

Start the mode of the WPS button on your printer.
Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.

Then run a printer from devices and printers Add Wizard.

    The USB method:

Perform a clean boot on the computer and disable the Antivirus software and any analysis in real-time in the Antivirus software also. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Then run the installation immediately after connecting the USB cable, follow the steps described in this document to update the drivers so that's not new error. A fatal error during Installation of the software. Then the installation should continue. (you can use this procedure for any type of installation)

If you are still having problems and you have an Ethernet cable, we can install the printer as a USB connection again and then configure the printer via wireless Ethernet.

    Method of Ethernet:

Restore the default settings of the printer.

Connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
Wait about 1 minute and the printer must have a valid IP address.
Print the configuration page to get the IP address of the printer.
Type the IP address in the address bar of Internet Explorer which should open the printer's built-in web services page.
    Installing wireless over here now.
Click the networking, wireless on the left, fill in information about the network and apply the settings.
After the confirmation, then disconnect the Ethernet cable.
Now you should have a flashing light on the printer in 1 minute wireless about.

Print a printer configuration page, to get the new IPv4 address.

Then create a new port with the new IPv4 address.

In the devices window and printers, click right on the printer and on the left, click on printer properties, select the Ports tab.

Click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.
  • Link missing in the network browser OR

I use LabView 2011 with one NOR cRIO.  I used to be able to access the files on the cRIO using network browser OR.  Running the browser would be the cRIO to locate on the network and mark IP address with a hyperlink.  For some reason that the hyperlink is displayed, even if the cRIO is be the browser.  Any suggestions?  Thanx.

Make sure that the appropriate web services are installed to the target. "" In MAX, go to remote systems' name of your cRIO "software" Add/Remove programs. Select the appropriate version of real-time Module and version of RIO and click Next.

After this, you should see the configured software add-ons that you can select for installation. Those related to the configuration of the web are in the last section titled 'Web features'. Mainly, you will need the "Network Support Web browser" option (it will automatically select the excess when you select). If they are not installed, select and install them on your target.

The network browser NOR checks the target for this configuration option and transforms the IP address into a hyperlink if it is available.

It may be also useful to refresh the network browser OR and give him a moment to check the target.

  • E709a printer is no longer on the network

Have had my printer/fax E709a installed with computers able to use from the network.  It is plugged into a wired router / wireless with Verizon FIOS.  Operating system on the computer connected to ethernet Wired is Windows 7 (64-bit) and Ubuntu Linux (via VMWare).  Other Windows XP computers and, for awhile, I had a very old Dell Ubuntu use via wired ethernet.

Recently, however, we had a power outage extended (about 40 hours) and it seems that, since I can't find the printer on the network.  I was able to run via the USB port on the bridge, but it would be nice if we can get it on the network again.

So far, I have tried... (with McAfee firewall off)

Remove and reinstall the printer drivers

Print a "Configuration Page of HP network" and tying to access the IP address via my web browser (expires)

Open a command prompt window and trying to ping IP address of the printer (not responding)

Restart the printer by turning off and turn back while now #6

I'm out of ideas and I was wondering if maybe the power failure did something?

The power failure (or reboot to be able to introduce a voltage surge) may have blown the power supply.  Let's reset - unplug it from the wall and from the printer for 5 minutes and then try again.

  • Why can I not chanfe my adminstator with the standard account

My button to change my standard administratot account is not active. How can I fix this.

If there is no other admin on the system account, and then create one and then the system should allow you to downgrade your existing user account.

In fact, it is well worth creating two accounts in addition to your standard user account admin, so that at least one of them will work in an emergency - account profiles get corrupted [just search the forum because unable connect or password problems & you will see a lot of people with serious problems].

Make a password reset disk for each account, even if it doesn't have a password.  This will save at least an hour of agony and probably more.
