Install the large HARD Windows 7 disc

I have an Asus laptop A43S with a 500 GB HDD running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).  I want to replace the HDD with a Hitachi 1 TB HDD.

Before buying it, I want to be sure that my system works the largest disk.

I asked Asus, but I can't get a clear answer (Asus Thailand). My Thai is limited!

I don't know if there are limits on the size of HARD drive, either on the motherboard, bios, or the HARD drive controller that has a Microsoft driver, although I learned that it is the latter which determines the limits of size.

The driver is given in the Device Manager as a file Microsoft 6.1.7600.16385, with two points - windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys and windows\system32\drivers\partmgr.sys.

Can someone please give me chapter and verse on this issue (that is what defines the size of HARD drive limit?), so that I can move forward with confidence and buy a new drive (or not as the case may be)?

I will be extremely grateful for expert advice.

DocTom.

It will be able to manage the largest disk.  In fact, in some configurations, it comes with a 1 TB drive.

The version of the file it seems that you have win 7 SP1 installed, and if not you should install it if for anything else, he has a major bug fixes

Service pack 1 update.

I have the original Windows HP recovery disk came with the computer.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image on disks created with Macrium Reflect two days ago.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image is created on an external hard drive Seagate two days ago. (I've read mixed reviews on these is currently working as a media of rescue with Win7 Pro).

I guess if I use the HP recovery disc I would be then just use any system image I prefer, without the recovery disk. Anyone know if it makes a difference at all which method to use?

My recommendation would be to restore using the image of MR (Macrium Reflect) you did.

But then, I used Mr. on all my PCs for years and am a big fan - having had it Miss ever in the years and years of use.

You will need boot from the boot of MR media (you did that right) and, if you photographed all the required partitions for the operating system, restore it on the new drive should take a few minutes, and when this is done, you reboot and everything should be OK.

    Good luck

  • HP Pavilion DV6-6c35dx: potential problems with OS driver install the new hard drive?

I want to spend the hard drive of my laptop, but my laptop did not come with recovery discs. I buy a full copy of Windows 7 Professional, but I did save it... because when everything has failed, I guess. If I'm able to reinstall Win 7 Home or if I have to install Win 7 Pro, how can I be sure to reinstall all drivers HP (p. ex., trackpad, meaning cool, beats audio, etc.) for my machine? It is best to download the drivers before you install the new hard drive and have them ready on a flash drive. or is there an easier way? Thank you.

I personally prefer the new OEM installation & then get required drivers to download for HP support for your laptop model.

It is slower and more difficult to do if it is not too well known, but the end result is much better.

If your system has flaws you should try to fix first, but better long-term results come from clean install generally.

Have you given up on trying to resolve why the computer won't start? You will need to provide more information about what happens when you try to start the computer. There are several reasons for which a computer does not start and a damaged operating system is only one. Please describe in detail what happens when you press the button.

Remember that a computer bought in January 2011 is very likely still covered by the warranty.

In the event of failure of the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) system, if that's what you see, for most users there is sufficient time to fully record what he says. the exact text is important for anyone trying to diagnose what is wrong. You can save time when the error occurs then by following the procedure described below.

If you already did it disable the auto reboot system error. This should help by allowing the time to write the code to Stop error and related information correctly. Select Start, do a right-click on computer select Properties, advanced, system settings startup and recovery, system failure and uncheck the box before automatically restarting. Re-do not enable automatic restart in the event of system failure after obtaining this information, this setting is the best left to not allow an automatic restart.

If the failure occurs during the initialization of the computer, you need to try a different approach. You can access the Advanced Options Menu of Windows on multiple computers by constantly pressing the F8 (key) key when starting and selecting the option - disable automatic restart in case of system error. This method is not always easy to use because it may be difficult to press the F8 key at the right time. Try again if it doesn't work the first time. On some computers, a different key must be used.

You can get the computer to boot by following the advice in the following link:

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

  • Cannot install the C4680 with windows XP-

I recently bought a C4680 with the intention of using it as a wireless printer connected in conjunction with a Linksys print server. Currently, I do this now with three PC and another HP printer.

I have a laptop with Vista Home, another laptop with XP s/p3 and a desktop with XP s/p3.

With the Vista PC installation was quick and easy. However, when installing on both machines XP, installed on the ground to stop when you try to install the drivers after the connection of the USB cable. The two printing support, and mass storage facilities returned a "cannot complete this installation - driver is not digitally signed.

I spent four hours on the phone with HP support before they admitted that they could not do work on the XP laptop.

What I will meet the same exact errors when I try to install on the XP desktop.

My question: is there someone out there who has successfully installed the C4680 with Windows XP?

Large. Glad to know that it worked.

  • Satellite L555-110 - cannot install the Eco on Windows 7 utility

    Hey everybody,

I can't install the utility on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Eco. After loading the files, the installation routine stops and says no "supported BIOS". I use the latest version of the Eco (v1.1.11.64) and BIOS (v1.70) utility.
Additionally PC Health Monitor does not work too. Setup concludes with '' don't support. ''.

    Any idea?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

You have installed all drivers for the laptop again or can you notice any yellow exclamation in Device Manager?

I checked the Toshiba page and normally this laptop supports the Eco utility.
Eco Utility works on the factory settings? I mean the version preinstalled Windows or you have only this question on the current version of Windows 7?

What do I need install the second hard drive HP PAVILION: p6633w?

    Hello

You need two cables, one is a sata cable:

    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/30305659/706331346/STARTech-com-6in-SATA-to-right-angle-SATA-serial-ATA-cable-female-SATA-female-SATA-6-inch-red/ListingDetails.html?_%24JA=TSID:13315% 7Ccat: 30305659% 7Cprd: 30305659 & kw = {keyword}

This cable is only for data and connect the hard drive to the SATA connector on the motherboard.

    The other cable is energy:

    http://www.itpartsdirect.com/STARTech-15-24cm-4-pin-Molex-to-SATA-power-cable-adaptor.html

It connects the hard drive to the PSU.

You can also buy a combo like this cable:

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/DP/B00064GBT4/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=9550951989&ref=asc_df_B00064GBT4

All you have to do is to connect the hard drive and that's it. Make sure that the main drive with the operating system is connected to the primary SATA connector (I think there are the numbers 1, 2, 3...)
