I also had been using my computer in mode mute until I tried to increase the volume and now the computer tells me no playback device installed. Device Manager acknowledges the Harmon/Kardon soundsticks connected to it, but nothing does, how it works? The Control Panel also sees the soundsticks, but still when I try to move the volume the computer says there is no playback device installed.

  1. do you get any error code or error message?

  2. what day you installed recently?

  It seems to be a problem with the hardware. I suggest you try to uninstall and reinstall the CD/DVD driver and check if it helps.

  Follow the steps to uninstall and re-install the drivers.

  a. click on start toreduce this includes this im and then click Control Panel.

  b. click system and Maintenance, click Systemand then click on Device Manager.
  Note If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.

  Reduce this includes this imageIf you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

  c. in the Manager device, expand CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, right click on CD and DVD devices and then click Uninstall.

  d. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click OK.

  e. restart the computer.

  If the methods mentioned above did not help, then it would be best to contact the manufacturer of the computer/CD/DVD player.

  I tried to print a jpeg file, but no printing occurred, however if I create a simple message test in WordPad it prints some time later.

  The print queue seems to form OK (visible through the Panel, devices and printers), but the printer does not print.

  I need to know what I should be looking at in Windows (or other) to correct problems - any offers on plausible solutions?

  Adapter, import formats, maps and location seems ok.

  Finally, I contacted Vernisoft... signed up with them on top of a prior problem when I was hacked and they finally fixed it... after 3 hours.  In short, they have finally installed IE8 and the Run-time error notice disappeared and I was able to record and transmit my record.  No problem since so far.

I went to do computer right click, click on manage, click on Device Manager, click on CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, double on this box, click on DVD region, mine had an empty box, I sailed to USA clicked OK, did a restart AND IT WORKS LIKE a DREAM!     I hope that the foregoing will help someone else!     Thanks for your time!

  I am a developer of a new blackberry, and I'm doing my first sample.
  I have experience with Microsoft.Net (Asp.Net and Vb.Net) but I've never done anything to a smartfone.

  So, I followed these steps:
  -J' read the documentation.
  -J' downloaded the "plug-in for Microsoft Visual Studio 1.2";
  -J' downloaded 'Simulator 5.0. "
  -J' installed the "plug-in for Microsoft Visual Studio 1.2";
  -J' installed the Simulator "5.0".

  Everything worked fine (I received no error message).

  After that, I tried to initialize a "Hello World" application in Visual Studio 2008, but I can't find any blackberry resources. There is no options in any menu of Visual Studio, there is no new project type, there is no option on the menu "Add-in manager.

  I found a video saying where to find the browser "BlackBerry" in menu "browser with...» "my project (when I click with the right button mouse), but this option is not there. I have not all references to the library or just about any BlackBerry resources on my VS2008.

  Can someone help me?
