  It's a shame but the HARD drive can still start to dysfunction and, therefore, it s advisable to create a recovery disc before you start using the laptop.

  However, now you can create the recovery disk because the files are lost.
  Now, you have two options:

  (1) you can install the Windows 8 using Microsoft Win 8 disk (you will need to buy 8 win if you n t have it). The essential Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page

  (2) the second option is much easier: you could order the Toshiba recovery from this page http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx disk and will mark the laptop back to the factory settings.

  Satellite P300 is plu laptop comes with Vista, but also supported for Win7. Unfortunately, it is not supported for Win8 so, in my opinion, there is no sense to install Win8 on it.

  Win7 works perfectly on this machine so if possible use Win7 on it. in case you want to use original Vista, you must install recovery using recovery DVD image. This way only to s to have factory settings once again.

  I bought a new laptop (toshiba satellite) 8 original windows pre-installed,

  Sound has stopped working since the new facility (which fromatting the drive - no partition) and can not find a solution. The v6.10.1.6000 of SoundMAX Integrated Digittal HD Audio Driver is installed. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but this doesn't seem to be the right driver. I can't find info to tell me what the correct driver can be either. The Toshiba site is a little sparse on Windows 7 drivers for this model and gives no indication that the driver may be is.

  Windows 7 does not think that there is a problem and some reports that "this device works properly." in speaker properties > Configuration information dialog box. However not coming out, the speakers or the 3.5 mm jack

  Go to Device Manager and check what sound chip you have exactly:

  In my opinion, it won't work because it is too old and not fast enough. Newer operating system that is supported by Toshiba is Windows XP and this should be the best choice for good old classic.

  So just to be satisfied with Windows XP, it's a good choice for older computers! :)

  To install Windows 7, you have original Microsoft Windows 7 installation disc. You can not order original Toshiba Windows 7 for this old model of laptop recovery disk.

  Install Windows 7 using Microsoft disk. Install all the necessary drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities one by one afterwards.
