Install Windows 7 on HP Pavilion, m9400t, 64-bit

I tried in vain for three weeks install Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion, the m9400t, the 64-bit office after my hard drive crashed.  I tried clean installs and upgrades on a new 1 to Seagate Barracuda.  I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he says I can go to the ultimate.  I checked the HP site on the upgrade to Win7 and updated my bios.

In the case of a clean install, at the end of the installation when it finishes a message quickly (so fast that I had to use a film camera to capture) appears stating "Windows Setup could not configure windows to run on this hardware machines."   After this message, the machine turns off.  Note that only original parts are attached to the machine (no printer, additional USB devices, haven't added any PCI cards).

In the case of the upgrade, I get a message "this version of windows could not be installed" and Vista is restored.

I called Microsoft support and they recommended I try a different installation disk and that did not help. They also accompanied me through a reformatting the drive and that did not help.   I also switched the hard drive and that did not help.

I am at a loss.

Hello

Make sure that the Windows license key corresponds with the Windows 7 product that you plan to install.
