Install Windows 7 on formatted Pavilion dv7-7052sw
Hello world
A week ago, I bought the HP Pavilion dv7-7052sw.
It came with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.
I wanted to customize for my personal needs, change partitions etc...
So I formatted it.
I looked at the new installation of Windows 7 64 bit BOX.
Everything goes well until the final step, installation restarts and fails on "Finish Installation" screen because
system is unable to start services on my computer and I have to restart the instalation.
I tried 3 times.
I did not create a backup/restore disc.
What is the problem? It's my first HP laptop and I don't expect problems like that.
Installation disc that I use works fine on my old laptop.
Need help please, I don't know what to do now...
Please see 'Windows Setup cannot configure Windows on hardware on this computer' Setup on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 computer error for a possible cause of your problem.
Installation from a Windows 7 SP1 disc or a USB flash drive should fix this for you. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 by using the 25 digit product key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.

Recently, I've killed my Pavilion dv7 - 1147 Vista ca for the edition of office Xp Pro. I could find the drivers for pretty much everything, but I can't work in my audio drivers. I looked around, but really can't find anything on my product, in terms of troubleshooting. I don't really know what that you guys need information, so ask and I can get it for you.
Problem solved. for someone else who has the problem, as soon as you install the MS UAA, it allows to detect certain hardware. Instead of having it go online to find the drivers, tell it to search in a specific directory on your computer. Even if you have the window "select a directory" open, run the sp45044 driver. The installation program will fail, but it puts the driver on your computer. return to the window "select a directory" and have it searching for C:\SWSetup\SP45044\WDM\WinXP. It now allows to install your drivers and audio will start to work immediately!
Thanks for the help of Paul

Install Windows 8 automatically formats the hard drive? If this isn't the case, I should format it FAT or NTFS drive before installing Win/8?
No, this isn't format the hard drive, what's done is put your existing version of Windows in a folder called "windows.old", it indeed erases old files of version and folders, leaving free space on the existing partition "NTFS" (formerly ocupied by your previous version of windows) in which is installed Windows 8.
And "NTFS" is the only file system that supports Windows 8.

IDT HD Audio stuttering apps/games/tf2 3d - Windows 7 x 64 - Pavilion dv7-4113tx
According to the rules, I have need of the State:
I am an employee of HP, my views/opinions/etc are mine and do not reflect those of HP.
I filed a bug report kind - but I don't know where to start, I do not work in an area that has nothing to do with the manufacture of products from HP; It is my free time now and I do not have intranet access .
I recently got a HP Pavilion dv7-4113tx Entertainment Notebook PC [XV780PA] for my personal use, and overall, it was very good. It comes with windows 7 Home Premium x 64 bit.
There is however a problem I have to implement what concerns games, or I guess any application intensive 3d, especially Valve games, my criterion of choice is Team Fortress 2. Edit: another game that stuttered, but less frequently - Serious Sam HD.
The game works perfectly in native resolution (ed: change the lower resolution will not affect the bug)-I'm moving 100-120fps but about every 30 seconds - 2 minutes, there is an audio/video stutter (stuttering, she repeats the dernieres.5 seconds of audio about 3 - 4 times in a loop while the screen freezes on where begins the first audio stuttering) which will make the game of 'freeze' for about 2 seconds and then continue where you left off.
Team fortress 2 is an incredible critical moment online multiplayer game, and this delay essentially means my e-death several times.
I thought at first that it was the graphics card or drivers - I put drivers at latest on the ATI site, which has increased my fps, but the stuttering was always there. After searching around on the internet a bit, I found a suggestion to turn off the audio driver (like - Device Manager lists IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) as test - so I did.
The game purrs like a kitten - absolutely no stuttering. my score went up immediately
So, my next step was to try to get updated for the IDT Audio device drivers (note, I can't find a name of model anywhere in the features of hp - or on the internet really) - I've discovered IDT themselves cannot release the pilots, that these can be obtained through OEM.
which brings me here.
now - closest to the drivers, I found I needed here: Driver Audio IDT high definition (HD) for Microsoft Windows 7
Note: - it says on the page that they are 32-bit drivers - but I found that they work with the 64 bit version of windows.
These worked a little better - he fixed another problem - by the way if you use volume controls in an application full screen which she will spend on the desktop to display the scroll bar on screen volume down (what was probably redundant because windows 7 displays the volume of the speaker in the lower right corner)- and he turns just the audio down as expected.
However - the stuttering is still very much present .
Then, I tried to use the wizard to Support HP to run automated diagnostics and troubleshoot... which then downloaded the old drivers who gave me this issue of full volume control screen back again once - so I guess that the original drivers.
So I installed the other drivers again.
My next test will be to use an external USB sound card to see if that will allow me have games with sound.
An agent appropriate at HP can you please address this concern and notify when this bug - IDT says they work with OEMS to solve problems on a regular basis on the IDT link above.
In my view, that it is a question that will probably require a bug fix.
EDIT: I will cross-post this to the game as well.
second edition: added serious sam, res fullscreen downgrade info, reference removed firewire firewire no!
Got a solution as possible here. Without changing the HARD drive (for me problem was there).

Install Windows 7 on HP Pavilion, m9400t, 64-bit
I tried in vain for three weeks install Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion, the m9400t, the 64-bit office after my hard drive crashed. I tried clean installs and upgrades on a new 1 to Seagate Barracuda. I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he says I can go to the ultimate. I checked the HP site on the upgrade to Win7 and updated my bios.
In the case of a clean install, at the end of the installation when it finishes a message quickly (so fast that I had to use a film camera to capture) appears stating "Windows Setup could not configure windows to run on this hardware machines." After this message, the machine turns off. Note that only original parts are attached to the machine (no printer, additional USB devices, haven't added any PCI cards).
In the case of the upgrade, I get a message "this version of windows could not be installed" and Vista is restored.
I called Microsoft support and they recommended I try a different installation disk and that did not help. They also accompanied me through a reformatting the drive and that did not help. I also switched the hard drive and that did not help.
I am at a loss.
Hello
Make sure that the Windows license key corresponds with the Windows 7 product that you plan to install.

You can perform a clean installation with the disk you have and it should install without any problems. After installing windows 7 ultimate, you will need to download it from here
Also before installing your own version of windows, make sure that you create recovery discs for your laptop by following the instructions at the bottom of the link

Install Windows XP Pro on Pavilion a6700f
My RN friend just bought a HP Pavilion a6700f OfficeDepot (Burbank, California) to his nephews in the Philippines to be installed with the programs not compatible with Microsoft Vista. His nephews wants reformat me the hard disk and replace the operating system with edition of Profession of Windows XP SP3. HP do not provide any option for consumers who prefer always Windows XP as operating system.
Did he never properly installed Windows XP for this HP Pavilion a6700f?
Moreover, it is not my first time remove Vista and put XP on new computers. I already did with success in many portable computers: gateway ML3109, HP Pavilion DV 6626US, several Acer Aspire, etc., the installation CD to create XP install CD with AHCI, or simply with regular XP drivers.
If any device driver for XP not available, I can consider asking my friend to return it, and we will go buy a Dell desktop with option to put XP in it.
Any suggestion?
64-bit is better suited for advanced pc users, IMO. Above for Nvidia Chipset and graphics drivers do not work in 64-bit, but you can switch to 64-bit on the Nvidia site.
I would also make sure that the programs that they need to run are compatible with XP 64 bit.

Hi, I got this error for some time and now find hair on my bald head out have used Manager recovery and uninstalled - reinstalled - restarted my laptop, but still get this error on HP Pavilion dv7-6b50ea. Can anyone help please.
Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant using Microsoft 'Fixit' at the following link: this is particularly useful for correcting problems that may prevent resettlement on the machines running a 64 bit OS.

Here is the link to the latest version of HP Support Assistant:

Hello:
I should be able to help you (except the battery issue unless the chipset driver fixes that).
First install the AMD chipset driver and restart. You want the first file on the Web page.
http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows 7-64
Then, install the beta AMD Mobility Catalyst graphics driver and restart.

Audio: Accept the contract, download and install the file second on the list.
Ethernet: Download and install the second on the list.

Pavilion dv6836eo: install Windows 7 on a Pavilion
Before you buy a dvd of Windows 7, I would like to know if it kan be installed on the device.
HP Pavilion dv6836eo Entertainment Notebook
Thank you for any response
Hi @Lusodana
Thank you for your query.
I understand - you want to update your laptop for Windows 7. But that is not supported by HP, it may be possible but HP wouldn't provide drivers.
Here is a link to Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor where you can download the Advisor to help you with this decision.
This link will advise you on the acquisition of the drivers if you are able to upgrade.
