Install Windows 7 on HP Pavilion 15-e056sl, possible or not?
Hello
I bought this laptop, expected W8 on that...
It's an ex-affichage of a store... the problem is that I found a version of w7 Starter installed...
I assumed that they changed the BIOS install w7 starter and, clearly they could ' t install w7 home or pro
(otherwise why install w7 starter instead of w7 pro?)
To summarize, my questions are:
can I do a fresh install of w7 on this laptop?
How? reset to factory settings?
Alternative solutions?
Thank you for your help
You are the very welcome.
For the PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_780B, you must download and install the driver from chipset amd from the link below.
http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows 7-64
USB\VID_0BDA & PID_8187 & REV_0100, try this driver:
Why do you need a wireless usb adapter for your laptop, can I ask?
I see no need to upgrade the BIOS, and unless the download BIOS says it can be run on W7, you certainly should not update the BIOS.

Anyone know how I can make it work?

Hello:
The drivers of motherboard of this model should also work on your.
DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK
The specific drivers you need are:
SMBus:
USB:
Comms Simple PCI:
PCI:
Try this driver for the wireless card. (The page on record your model does not show that it comes with the wireless network card).
If this driver does not work, click on the network controller and view the ID of the hardware for it.
Who can tell me what model wireless card it is, and I can post the link for the driver you need.
If you don't know where to find the hardware ID, please read the guide at the link below.

I am using windows 7 on my computer, but I want to install windows xp too. The version of win7 do not accept this for compatibility reasons. is there a solution? (it is said that the version of windows 7 is more recent and it is the reason why cannot accept the addition of windows xp aas alternative software)
Three options.
(1) start from the XP CD, format the HARD drive, create TWO partitions, install XP on the first then the second 7.
(2) use virtualisatioin if your machine it handles pretty well. Install Virtual PC or VMWare Server and install XP on a virtual disk.
(3) (easiest if you have Pro 7, Ultimate or Enterprise) download and install XP Mode

First of all, download and install the Chipset driver at the following link.
When this has completed, restart the laptop.

Install Windows 7 on HP Pavilion, m9400t, 64-bit
I tried in vain for three weeks install Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion, the m9400t, the 64-bit office after my hard drive crashed. I tried clean installs and upgrades on a new 1 to Seagate Barracuda. I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he says I can go to the ultimate. I checked the HP site on the upgrade to Win7 and updated my bios.
In the case of a clean install, at the end of the installation when it finishes a message quickly (so fast that I had to use a film camera to capture) appears stating "Windows Setup could not configure windows to run on this hardware machines." After this message, the machine turns off. Note that only original parts are attached to the machine (no printer, additional USB devices, haven't added any PCI cards).
In the case of the upgrade, I get a message "this version of windows could not be installed" and Vista is restored.
I called Microsoft support and they recommended I try a different installation disk and that did not help. They also accompanied me through a reformatting the drive and that did not help. I also switched the hard drive and that did not help.
I am at a loss.
Hello
Make sure that the Windows license key corresponds with the Windows 7 product that you plan to install.

Install Windows 7 on formatted Pavilion dv7-7052sw
Hello world
A week ago, I bought the HP Pavilion dv7-7052sw.
It came with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.
I wanted to customize for my personal needs, change partitions etc...
So I formatted it.
I looked at the new installation of Windows 7 64 bit BOX.
Everything goes well until the final step, installation restarts and fails on "Finish Installation" screen because
system is unable to start services on my computer and I have to restart the instalation.
I tried 3 times.
I did not create a backup/restore disc.
What is the problem? It's my first HP laptop and I don't expect problems like that.
Installation disc that I use works fine on my old laptop.
Need help please, I don't know what to do now...
Please see 'Windows Setup cannot configure Windows on hardware on this computer' Setup on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 computer error for a possible cause of your problem.
Installation from a Windows 7 SP1 disc or a USB flash drive should fix this for you. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 by using the 25 digit product key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.
Please click the White Star of KUDOS to show your appreciation

Waiting for your help
You can perform a clean installation with the disk you have and it should install without any problems. After installing windows 7 ultimate, you will need to download it from here
Also before installing your own version of windows, make sure that you create recovery discs for your laptop by following the instructions at the bottom of the link

Install Windows XP Pro on Pavilion a6700f
My RN friend just bought a HP Pavilion a6700f OfficeDepot (Burbank, California) to his nephews in the Philippines to be installed with the programs not compatible with Microsoft Vista. His nephews wants reformat me the hard disk and replace the operating system with edition of Profession of Windows XP SP3. HP do not provide any option for consumers who prefer always Windows XP as operating system.
Did he never properly installed Windows XP for this HP Pavilion a6700f?
Moreover, it is not my first time remove Vista and put XP on new computers. I already did with success in many portable computers: gateway ML3109, HP Pavilion DV 6626US, several Acer Aspire, etc., the installation CD to create XP install CD with AHCI, or simply with regular XP drivers.
If any device driver for XP not available, I can consider asking my friend to return it, and we will go buy a Dell desktop with option to put XP in it.
Any suggestion?
64-bit is better suited for advanced pc users, IMO. Above for Nvidia Chipset and graphics drivers do not work in 64-bit, but you can switch to 64-bit on the Nvidia site.
I would also make sure that the programs that they need to run are compatible with XP 64 bit.

Hello:
I should be able to help you (except the battery issue unless the chipset driver fixes that).
First install the AMD chipset driver and restart. You want the first file on the Web page.
http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows 7-64
Then, install the beta AMD Mobility Catalyst graphics driver and restart.
http://support.AMD.com/en-us/KB-articles/pages/latest-catalyst-Windows-Beta.aspx
Audio: Accept the contract, download and install the file second on the list.
Ethernet: Download and install the second on the list.
Network:
Dev PCI:
USB: Install both:

Hello Shehanf93
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand that you have a problem with your laptop. However, since it is a commercial laptop, you should post your question on the map cell of the HP Enterprise Forums for a better answer.
Have a wonderful day!

Cannot install Windows XP because my disc is damaged and does not load.
Try to reinstall Windows XP disc I have. Don't work so can't get computer to start
I tried to reinstall Windows XP Service Pack 2 on my mom's computer. I deleted the files with the help of brother-in-law, who said he had the drive. I did not know the security number the disk has been corrupted. Have since found the drive to MOM. Don't read that so can't get on computer. Trying to put it again so that she is away... will be back Saturday Panicking!Setup cannot find a previous version of windows installed on your computer. To continue, Setup must verify that you qualify to use this upgrade product. Please insert the product windows CD is in the CD rom drive, and then press ENTER. I have inserted a microsoft windows xp professional service pack 2, then this message: Setup could not read the CD you inserted, or the CD is not a CD of windows vald.
Hello Sarah-JaneBenjaminThe disk that you want to install Windows with is an upgrade. You need a complete product if you want to use the upgrade disk to install the operating system. That's why it asks you to verify that you have a calling to upgrade product. You said that you inserted a disc of Microsoft Windows XP Professional for validation, it's the same disc supplied your brother-in-law? You have already determined that the disc is damaged, so it does not work. Have you checked that the drive that you want to use is a complete operating system and not just a service pack disc? Also if you use the upgrade disk is not the equivalent of the disk that you use to check then the validation will fail also. If I had to guess I would say that you are using a service pack disk and that's why he will not be validated. In all cases, you must always a valid disc to re - install Windows. I suggest that you contact Packard Bell support and see if they can provide you with the media. The chances are slim that they will have it since it's Windows XP. If they don't you may want to check with 3 sites of third party for the purchase of Windows XP. Trying to divert from auction sites like most XP Media is questionable in their legitimacy. -

I have create a new PC and installed Windows & Pro 64-bit. While some offer programs install both 32-bit and 64-bit as a single installation and the installation of the program checks it should install. A few programs installed 32-bit when I said to use the 64-bit. I received a message that I had a 32 bit OS and that it could not install the 64-bit version. How can I ensure that the 64-bit version is always installed when it is available. I have a program that I need it's 32-bit however.
I also installed Office 2010 and want to know how to check if it installed 32-bit or 64-bit.All this is because I'm about to build a new PC for my wife and want to avoid these problems right at the front with it.Thank youDougIf you buy a commercial version of win7 you are provided with the installation dvd of bit versions and a unique activation key. You cannot install both versions.
Most of the programs will install without problem in a 64-bit version of victory, there is very little that will not be installed on Windows 64-bit.
You install programs as usual, you don't need to change any settings or install to anywhere other than their default locations. -C' IE you do not manually select the x 86 folder or any other folder.
If the program you are installing has the ability to install a specific version of bit, and it does not work, then the problem is that options program installers, you must contact the program support
A retail version of Office 2010 also comes with two versions of ILO.
Having a 64-bit version of victory does NOT mean that you need to install 64-bit Office, in fact MS recommends that stick you with 32-bit Office (reason being compatibility with various plug0ins Office)
And of course the 32-bit version of win only supports 4 GB of memory

Pavilion dv6836eo: install Windows 7 on a Pavilion
Before you buy a dvd of Windows 7, I would like to know if it kan be installed on the device.
HP Pavilion dv6836eo Entertainment Notebook
Thank you for any response
Hi @Lusodana
Thank you for your query.
I understand - you want to update your laptop for Windows 7. But that is not supported by HP, it may be possible but HP wouldn't provide drivers.
Here is a link to Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor where you can download the Advisor to help you with this decision.
This link will advise you on the acquisition of the drivers if you are able to upgrade.
Download or update of software and drivers for HP computers
Good luck!
