Install windows 8 on a Touchsmart iq522sc

I can't install the Windows 8 Professional on my HP Touchsmart IC522sc version.

As soon as it has boot on the installation DVD, begins installation of Windows 8 and the directly it says it needs a driver Media, that is to say for a hard drive, DVD or a USB.

But stating no more and just ask me to insert the CD or navigate to the folder where the driver is.

This driver is missing, and where can I find it?

Tried Google, but can't find any answers.

Kind regards

Hokan

In most cases, it is because Windows 8 needs a driver to access the hard drive. Many have circumvented the problem by setting the option of SATA controller in IDE instead of AHCI or RAID mode. You may also be able to solve the problem by downloading the driver Intel Rapid Storage for your computer and asks. Since Windows 8 will not be released at retail until mid-October, support will be lacking until then. In addition, many drivers are not "signed" for Windows 8 and may not work until the signing.

    Hello

Has anyone tried to install Windows 8 on HP TouchSmart IQ506t? I bought this all-in-one PC in 2008 and it still runs 64-bit Vista (yuck!). I'm debating between Windows 7 and Windows 8. Who would you recommend?

    Thank you

Go with Windows 7, as HP has released a set of Windows 7-compatible drivers.

I have the HP TouchSmart IQ804 and wait for almost a year now for HP release graphics drivers.  Without this driver, the pc goes to a black screen useless sporadically.

    Hello, Mary:

Has even thought of field sorry that our computers were made before windows 8. HP doesn't come back so far to develop drivers for Windows 8 for our HP Touchsmart 600-1050 series computers or 300. Our computers have only eight point touch. Windows 8 requires 10 points. Yes, you can install windows 8 but you'll lose touch features but also of many other features as well. Please get Windows 8 on touchsmart here in this forum. You can see how others have installed. What software they were no longer able to use and the features that they have learned to live with out. After reading it then you can decide if you want to take a chance and make the top grade or not. If you do the high-grade remember that your computer won't work properly thereafter. Why is this? Because HP has neither they will never develop drivers for our computers and the third party did not develop them as well. You can see what others had trouble finding. frrw.

    Hello:

See if, by your own plain W8.1 installation media, you can reinstall Windows 8.1.

The only downside is the OEM product key in the BIOS.

However, there are workarounds like the one shown below to find out how to get the product key in the BIOS to work on your new installation...

  • Blue screen during installation of Windows XP on HP touchsmart 7320

    I have a HP touchsmart 7320 with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit pre-installed.

I have to install Windows XP (32 bit) next to Windows 7, so that I can run a costly professional application which meets the incompatibility issues with Windows 7.

Compatibility mode makes no difference. Virtual PC and XP mode are broken during the installation of the application. So its a way for me to have a dual-boot with Windows 7 ande Windows XP machine.

When I am installing Windows XP (all versions-family, professional, 32 or 64-bit with original CD always) gives a blue screen with strange characters and the following STOP message:

    | STOP 0X0000007E
    (0xc0000005, 0xf748e0bf, 0xf78da208, 0xf78d9f08)

    PCI.sys - address f748e0bf base at f7487000 datestamp 36d855c

I did a new Windows XP installation CD using nLite, "slipstreaming" of Service Pack 2 and AHCI SATA drivers I found here and they are proposed by this guide.

That seems to work for awhile, because the installation process went further. It passes the point where she was already giving the blue screen, but it gives blue screen in a later stage of the installation process and one other STOP message which is now:

    Hello:

I have another solution for you.

First, go to your Windows 7 installation and in Device Manager, click on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section.

Please confirm that you have the Intel (r) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller.

If it's not the ACHI SATA controller you have, thanks for posting what you have.

Now, here is another method to install XP.

Go into your BIOS. Go to the menu of storage options. Change your SATA of ACHI to IDE emulation mode. Save the configuration at this time by pressing the F10 key and save your settings again when you leave.

    Now XP must install.

After XP is installed, please share back and I'll give you the instructions step by step to load the post SATA ACHI driver XP installation, so you can change your return to ACHI BIOS setting, so that you can dual boot your machine.

Currently, only XP will start with the value IDE BIOS. With the ACHI BIOS value, only W7 will start. That's why we need to load the drivers for XP achi sata once you have it installed.

I think that we can find all the XP drivers, you need to as well.

  • Windows 7 on HP TouchSmart M6-n012dx Sleekbook ENVY

    Hello

I need to know, is it possible to install windows 7 on the

ENVY of HP TouchSmart M6-n012dx Sleekbook

machine. While the machine is pre-installed with windows 8.

    Hello @m2star,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that you are looking to downgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 on your laptop, and I'd be happy to guide you to a resolution!

Given that the support available for your system drivers are only supported for Windows 8.1, I would personally recommend not downgrade your system to an earlier operating system.

    I hope this helps!

    Best regards

  • Blue screen during installation of Windows XP on my Touchsmart TX2

    Hey guys.

l am trying to install Windows XP on my new HP Touchsmart TX2, but the startup configuration every time l, the Tx2 stops with a blue screen when loading drivers. l tried with several discs, even those created with nLite and understood the SATA drivers, but nothing has worked.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Thank you

    Nightmare

    @Nightmare,

You need to integrate your drivers Sata (only x 86 drivers) with nLite.

Here are the Sata drivers for you. Just unRAR it drivers with Winrar. (This driver is different then what gave you Cheryl.)

Here you will find the file .doc with guide how to integrate this with Windows XP Sata driver. (You will need to open the Microsoft Office).

Here you will find the file with the same guide *.pdf . (You must open the Acrobat Reader software. Download link for this program here. Select your language and your system it.).

Also, remember that you use at least version of WinXP SP2 . If you have not got the version SP2 here you can download this service pack and here you have a guide to how to integrate this with XP file written by nLite.

In nLite, you can even burn your new XP CD with these changes.

I hope this will solve your problem.

After carefully installing Windows 7, Windows update tells me that I must install a critical update for the graphics card to Nvidia 9600 m GS on my Touchsmart, but every time I start the process, the download fails with the error code 80070005. • Install Windows 8.1

I have a HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook computer Touchsmart (ENERGY STAR)

I messed up my hard drive with EaseUS Partition Master and it erased everything on my hard drive. I got it together to clone, but it has erased.

My goal was to clone my old drive c: on a new hard drive. Both are SATA hard drive.

Now, I have a laptop with no installed Windows 8.1.

So I went to the Microsoft site and downloaded Windows 8.1 and would make a boot USB Flash drive and when I entered the Windows of my HP laptop key, dismissed. So I used a key purchased from BestBuy Windows 8 disc. Microsoft has accepted that the key and when I installed the new HARD drive on the laptop and insert the USB flash boot drive and started to install Windows 8, it rejected the key and said that my key does not match the key on my motherboard, the key that is embedded in the ORGANIC menu. So I could not install Windows 8.

So, the next thing I thought was to clone my dekstop 8.1 Windows on my new drive hard, then when I boot in Windows 8.1 of the laptop that I would change my key to victory than my laptop key of embeded.

I used EaseUS Todo to clone my C: drive to the new hard drive, and it was a successful and identical copy.

Then I put the new clone drive in my laptop and it tells me to install an operating system.

I checked the setting of my BIO and his game to boot from a hard drive.

So I contacted EaseUS Todo and spoke with a technical support for more than 1 week now and they don't know why my laptop won't boot from the new drive of clone.

I have no restore options I did the laptop.

I contacted HP support and they tell me that they cannot help me to activate Windows this fall on Microsoft.

I contacted Microsoft and they tell me that they cannot help me install Windows as it falls on HP.

The problem is that I can't install Windows 8.1 car his rejecting my key Windows 8.1.  When I try to use a different key of Windows 8, it rejects too because he says that it is not the same thing as embeded in my Bio.

I ended up installing Linux Mint 17 which is ok, but I'd rather have Windows 8 back on it.

Is there anything else I can try to do?

    Hello

Well, I said game/recovery media which means can be a set of DVD or USB key. Ask your USB key.

    Kind regards.

  • Flickering of screen since installing Windows 8.1

I have a brand new HP Pavilion TS 11 laptop which came with Windows 8 is installed.  Yesterday I installed Windows 8.1 and since then various sites Web seems to suffer from flickering of screen - particularly visible on those with a white background.  Microsoft seem to not be able to offer an explanation except that it has something to do with 'refresh rate', although he didn't offer any explanation on how to solve this problem... do you have an idea what could be causing it and if there's a cure?

Thanks - I love my new laptop, but don't like what Windows 8.1 has done for her!

    Amanda

    Hi Amanda1962,

I understand that you now get a flickering screen on your laptop HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.  I believe that this is due to an update of the BIOS that is needed. Here is a link to to find your model.

Once you have your template go to the BIOS drivers.

You also have an option to restore the Windows 8 back to the original. Here is a link to show you how to do this restore.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

i boot boot camp and she has 2 activated options are: software DOWNLOAD to apple support and the other is latest windows install or remove windows 10 or later.

I'm not sure why it says windows 10 as it is not compatible with my mac earlier. anyway I check the two options and then bootcamp download all drivers and records them in my pendrive of 32GB.

    Thanks for any help

A Mac 2011 needs a physical DVD to install Windows and need to use the optical drive (CD/DVD). You cannot use an external CD/DVD drive.

Please burn the ISO on a DVD-R SL and then click the installation option only.
