Guys, good evening to all the same time.

I get out of this crazy short, I ask humbly help.

    I explain my problem:

I have a Mac Pro (early 2008), with RAID CARD MEDIA

He does not then I "gave" to my mother who must use windows for work.

I'm out all 4 disks in RAID installed and mounted 2 - SSD OCZ Agility 256 GB.

one of them is installed OSX Yosemite. on the other hand, I want to install WINDOWS.

    and here the problems begin:

When I insert the win8.1 to proceed installation standard dvd (EFI not talked since the beginning of 2008), I get, when I have to decide on which disk to install and format windows, does not reveal the installed drives

After 2 days of tweaking, I was able to understand that this is a problem due to the RAID card installed, I also read that you just remove it and connect the SSD in one of the two doors empty ODDsata (and not in the 4 planned the raid card slots)

but still does not see the attached HDD / SSD, so keep trying and I think it's a driver problem and I need to install the AHCI driver, now, I'm pretty Nerd, but I still can't get.

Someone could want explain step by step what I need to do to install this * win on MacPro 8.1 designed for RAID card?

Thank you so much in advance.

If you remove the card RAID Apple on the Mac, you MUST connect the iPass cable on its location on the motherboard, or all four bays are unusable:

  • install windows on mac bootcamp AND like a machine... single virtual license?

I have a mac and I want to install windows 7 on my second drive to load via bootcamp for when I want to use all the power of my computer for windows based tasks. I also want to be able to install it on the same mac once again, but as a virtual machine in Parallels for when I don't have the time to restart or for the less memory/CPU intensive tasks.

I would be able to do it on a single license key /? See these 2 separate machines and it lock me up?

You cannot use the same key even if it is a VM because it is considered as a separate computer. You will need to use a second key for the virtual machine, or choose an option.

You can buy another copy here (Full Version) for the virtual machine:

  • You can install Windows on a Mac without an optical drive

Hey, I have a Mac end 2011 a friend gave to me and he said it was broken. I realized that it was just the SATA port on the motherboard, so I pulled out the optical drive and I put an SSD in it. Now I want to install Windows but Mac says that I am not allowed to because I don't have an optical drive. I tried Abu tools and many other shippers of EFI boot, but none of them does not seem to work! Please help me fast! • A few questions about installing Windows on a Mac

    Hello world.

I'm considering installing Windows on my 2006 iMac. I have a few questions I was hoping you might be able to help me with that. I know that this machine will run Windows 7 or 8, in terms of system resources, but probably doesn't have the RAM for 10.

The girl has reached Apple Obsolescence and no longer can be upgraded to newer versions of Mac OS. Unfortunately, this also means that she can not get the latest version of iTunes and don't talk to my phone. But she still my entire library of music.

I know that used at least iTunes is available on Windows, but I seem to remember that they took it. Y at - it an option to put my iTunes music on an iPhone 6 in a Windows environment? I don't mind if I need to convert files or otherwise work for her. I have just a few old out-of-print stuff that I really miss being able to listen to anywhere other than my office.

I'm pretty much stuck with versions before 10, due to the RAM thing. Honestly, I haven't used Windows since around 1998, with the exception of a terminal XP at work, so I don't know much about it. Any recommendation on which version is the best? And I can buy a copy online directly from Microsoft?

If I would be better off buying a new laptop for very cheap, it is also a possibility. But my Mac still works well, despite not being not supported for updates, and I hate wasting perfectly good material. I just don't have the money for another Mac right now.

  • Windows CS Master Collection 5.5 to be installed on a Mac

Hi, I have a CS Master Collection, which is installed in my computer Windows 5.5. Mine is a version of Windows. Now, I wish to switch to a Mac and load the 5.5 CS in my Mac and install from my windows. How can I do this?

You are allowed to have two active facilities so that you can keep the Windows installation if your prefer.  You probably won't after reading the following.  If you don't want to have the available backup then the minimum you need to do is to disable it on the machine by opening one of the applications and by selecting help-> Deactivate.

Your CS5.5 license is only valid for a Windows System.  He's too old to be exchanged for a Mac license (only the last version (CS6) can be).  The only way to eventually get on the Mac will be to install Windows on Mac emulation software.

I don't think that you can install Windows 7 with Boot Camp on El Capitan:

    • A Microsoft Windows installation media or disc image (ISO) containing a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows 8 or later *.

From: How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support.

Windows 10 is simply too new for your Mac, and Windows 7 is too old. It is quite a difficult situation. If you really need Windows, you would need to get a copy of Windows 8, or put to level to an earlier version of Mac OS X with a version of Boot Camp that works in Windows 7.

  • Windows on Mac - clean install disadvantages and benefits vs Bootcamp?

    Hi people,

I recently got my first Mac - one Macbook 2016. I tried on El Capitan, and I still much prefer Windows, I'm looking to install on Mac.

I've read through bootcamp for double installation, but largely, I would prefer to perform a new installation on Windows (I have a copy of Windows 8.1 Pro with a license key). I can't determine whether or not it is recommended and I would appreciate it if someone could clarify it for me.

    My understanding is that: -.

    (1) it is possible to completely remove OSX and have a clean install of Windows.

    (2) OSX (in my case, El Capitan) can be reinstalled at a later date without extra cost (i.e. free) using the OSX installer.

    (3) install or remove Windows OSX will not affect my warranty the warranty is of Apple hardware.

One of the main concerns seems to be none using Bootcamp means pilots Apple for Windows will not automatically available. I heard some mention that these drivers may actually now be downloaded separately on the Apple site and installed directly on the machine once Windows is in place. Can someone confirm this please?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope can get definitive information and I can move on Windows soon.

    Welcome to Apple Support communities

You are right. You can remove OS X and only keep the windows, but it has some disadvantages, to know before doing this. Apart from this, Internet recovery will let you install OS X at any time even if you have deleted the recovery partition, and you will not have to pay for OS x: OS X is free and is already registered for your Apple ID.

Drivers, Boot Camp Assistant (an application, you can find in/Applications/Utilities) leads you through the first steps before you install Windows on your Mac, and one of them is to download the drivers for your Mac requires and put them in a USB key. However, you may need to OS X to get latest driver versions.

Instead of completely removing the OS X, I suggest to allocate more space to Windows, but keep OS X in a small partition. By doing this, you will always be able to update the drivers (where you need OS X to do) and you will have fewer problems getting OS X in the future if you want to delete Windows.

Finally, don't forget to make a backup of your files before you install Windows on your Mac. You may need it in case something goes wrong with the Windows installation.

  • How can I add a previously installed windows on my mac pro installation

Hi guys, everything becomes to collect my newly bought mac pro 3.1 (used). I'm moving PC, but how do I add my existing installation of windows on my mac? The mac pro is 3.1 and has 2 x 500 GB disks in a raid 1 TB configuration. It's just a matter of plugging my windows disk (I'm guessing No.) or is it a bit more complex than that? Any help or advice will be appreciated and hope to give back as much help as I get that I'm learning. Thank you

You can install Windows on a Mac computer using Boot Camp Assistant or by using a Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox virtual machine natively. Refer to the instructions of Boot Camp located here: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/. OT If using a virtual machine see the instructions located on the Parallels, Fusion or VirtualBox sites.

In both cases you can not use a PC already existing installation of Windows. You need to reinstall Windows on your Mac.
