Install Windows Store Apps in a domain environment

I work in the 8th largest school district in the nation and we are moving forward with Windows8. We are going to develop some applications of Win8 (LOB) and we are clear on their distribution to our users. But we also want our users to be able to install Win8 Store apps on the Windows Store.

My question is how can our users install apps from the store without giving them or forcing them to have a Microsoft ID account? Nothing against the Microsoft Account ID (we are in the middle with Win8) but we have 25,000 employees and we do not know how to handle this? Someone has encountered this situation or know the best way to handle this?

    Hi Daniel,.

    Thank you for your response.

This problem may occur if one or more of the following conditions are met:

    1. If the Windows Update database is damaged.
    2. If the service (BITS) Background Intelligent Transfer Service does not receive a content link header.
    3. If a required system file is incorrectly registered.

Please follow the steps below and check it, if it helps:

I suggest refer you to the section: manually reset windows update components from following link:

  • [U8.1] how to host OWIN katana Windows store App or how to intercept the http request in windows store app

    Hello

I have an application that needs its own server to check if the query to this server can be served on-site or even reach the server online for the same thing.

In fact, my application will have some local files that will be included in the package and part of the content will be responsible for the online server, so my requirement, it's that I want to somehow intercept the request of my application and redirect accordingly.

You can tell I want to query interceptor or possess oneself by a webserver as OWIN katana inside my windows store app. Alternatively, is there a way to host web on IIS via app store windows application.

Please let me know what is possible only in App Store Windows as my application should run on all devices for Windows Store Apps support.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Windows Store App for Windows 8 says now that he can not be installed

    Hello

I just do a restore to factory on my computer Windows 8 and now I'm reinstalling all the applications that I used for the Windows store. I liked and had no problem with The Weather Channel, but when I went to install from the Windows store, it now says my PC can not meet the minimum requirements, or may be updated. I do not understand that because it has worked well for the 2 years that I got it on this computer before restoring factory three weeks back.

    Hi Daffy,

The problem you are experiencing has occurred due to a corruption in the App Store Windows.

A few quick questions to better understand the issue:

    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    2. The issue is limited to a specific application (The Weather Channel)?
    3. You are able to download other applications?

    Try the following methods:

    Method 1

Check Windows updates if driver updates are available. If so, the same install and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key + W on the keyboard.
    • Type the updates in the search bar and click the Windows Update icon from the result of the search.
    • In the Windows Update window, click on the link: check the updates from the left side of the window to receive a new list of updates.

If updates are available, install all updates listed there. Make sure that you install all updates including the optional updates.

    Method 2

Allow us to reset the Windows Store cache and check if you can download the application.

    • Press the Windows key + Q.
    • In the search box, type WSReset.exe , and then press ENTER.

This will reset your hiding place for the store. Now, try the download and check.

    Method 3

Run the utility troubleshooting app which is a tool that can automatically identify and fix problems with applications and store.

  • Windows Store apps download / update apps stuck in State waiting

Original title: windows store 8 can be walked, but can not download applications

Everything is great, until you are in store for the app that you want to download, but as soon as you select an application and click on install, the installation screen appears with the activity report of the applications queued for installation (in the waiting/download) and that's it. I can't download a single app, not even a simple pacman after waiting for 20 minutes. most of the time that the status is stuck on "pending", when the application starts downloading, it just gets stuck after that a little Chuck is downloaded.

My internet connection is working perfectly, all pre-installed applications work fine, but I could not update or install applications.

I recently bought a new laptop from windows 8, not upgraded to windows 7 (read some discussions and answers where store does not open in this case.)
    Help, please.

I found this on another thread on the same topic. It's the same solution Pinaki is suggesting, but using the prompt instead of the graphical interface of Windows. It worked for me. Post here where everyone thinks that they are useful.

    1. Open an administrative command prompt (go to the start screen, type 'cmd', right-click on command prompt and press "Run as Administrator")
    2. Type the following commands to four in the command prompt:
    3. net stop wuauserv
      CD %SystemRoot%\System32
      Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
      net start wuauserv
    4. Try to install updates again.

  • Links for Windows Store apps does not

When I click on a link "view in Windows Store" on the web, it always opens the Windows Store - never the real app site start page in the store.

    How can I fix?

Sometimes, this can happen if you have your PC region set to a region with a limited selection app (not all applications are available in all regions)

Control Panel > clock, language and region (click here) > region
and in the region is "moved" (may change in the U.S., if not already)
After that, press the Win - X (keycombo while in office) and click on run

Type "WSReset.exe" in the box run and he resumes Windows Store with cache disabled and set
    in your new area

If this isn't your problem, wait for further assistance in this forum, also make sure you have ALL available Windows updates installed

  • Remove the Windows Store Apps

My question is about removing apps from the store of Windows 8.  It is apparently a "characteristic" of Windows 8, that we are not allowed to delete permanently 'Your applications' all or part of the lousy applications that we already have installed in the Windows store, although they later have been uninstalled from the PC.

Is the only way, that's why, in order to purge the history is to refresh Win8 installed, then create a completely new online ID of Windows or use a local account?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Scott

    Hi Scott,.

By design, we are not able to remove applications from your applications. To work around the problem, you can create a new Microsoft Account (using a different email ID) or a local account.

Hope this information helps. If you need more assistance or information on this question, reply to this post. I'll be happy to help you.

  • Windows Store apps does not open and the app Store just hangs

Before going back to my University all my apps worked very well. But when I'm back and rebooted my laptop, they don't work anymore. The apps Store open at all, and when I open the app Store itself, just displays the splash page and returns to the start screen (some have had this problem, too).  I tried all the methods suggested here on the forums (convenience store app, refresh my PC (twice), msconfig, wsreset.exe, sfc/scannow, etc), but none of them have worked.  I've even updated the operating system does not work today (known as Patch Tuesday) but as always. Did someone solved this problem? Any help is appreciated.

My app Store kept crashing (get out before even showing animation "loading") after I updated to Windows 8. 1. after having tried all of new updates of the Bank reset (returned an error of remote procedure call), I found this fix that worked:

Re-register the app Store by running a command window and typing:
    PowerShell - ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage - registry DisableDevelopmentMode-$Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml
I hope this helps others in this situation.
  • Windows Store apps no longer works

I recently updated my Windows 8 SVE171321EB and all my applications no longer work. Windows store says it cannot connect to the internet (my connection is fine), the Mail app insists on the fact that the accounts that I have linked to it are not available (and still say after the re-synchronization) and new applications and weather have not updated their story since the update (however they seem to work in the start menu (as I live-active tile and updates new stories/information is at the opening of the app they don't work). I tried on the advice of other questions about similar problems, without success, and a system restore did not resolve the issue. When running through the motions with the Windows App Store troubleshooting tool, I get this clue, but with no advice on how to correct problems found:

I've had this laptop for over a year and it has run very efficiently, but I am at a loss to know what to do.

    Hello

Try updating or even a complete reset.

  • Try to associate a protocol with a program in Windows 8. Can only select Windows Store Apps

I just installed new standalone opera mail client. I tried to send a file via File Explorer (send to / Mail recipient) and Windows tells me that there is no default mail client installed. It is a problem, I guess I have to take up with Opera.
The problem on the Microsoft side is the following: I tried to go into default programs and set the MAILTO: Protocol of Opera Mail. However, the only listed options were Chrome, Opera browser and look for an App in the Store.
I expect to be able to choose an application or a real program, so to speak, to associate with the MAILTO Protocol. I expect to see an option to select other programs already installed on my computer.
In fact, I consider this a Bug, how could report a Bug to Microsoft?
