  Hello people, I am setting up a way large-scale distributed of ISE and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the maximum number of PSN is allowed in this configuration.   I was reading through an older training document with version 1.1 and suggested 5, that's why I wonder if the specs changed on 1.2 but I can't find them anywhere to practice.

  I have a large virtual machine running the MAIN admin character who is also secondary to my report & follow-up in my main data centre.

  In another State (bound to 10G) is another large VM acting as my character high school admin with primary oversight & reports.

  Across several States I want to have multiple Ssnp through geographic patterns of each State, but I don't know if I can put across enough with my current version of 1.2 and my persona config Ssnp listed above.    I need about 12 to 15 Ssnp.

  I was wondering if I need two VMs more out of my control as a node in DC1 and secondary surveillance in DC2 for more extensibility PSN.

  As Marvin suggested, I would look at using 1.3 at this point, unless you have any specific concerns of this version and I really want to stay with 1.2. That being said, here are my recommendations/comments:

  -Two v1.2 and v1.3 fits in fact up to 40 knots PSN

  -If none of the nodes of your PSN will be put in the same place and are layer 2 adjacent I recommend putting them in a group node and behind a load balancer. If you do not have a load balancer, I would always put them in a node group. At this time a node group can have up to 10 PSN

  -If you have 10-15 knots PSN then you should spend 2 nodes for specifically for the character of monitoring

  -The period of maximum round trip between all nodes must not exceed 200 ms

• ISE upgrade question

  Try to 1.1.1.268 upgrade patch 5 at 1.1.2.145.  It fails to say that the package is not in the correct format via the GUI.  Tried via CLI and I see it in the newspapers.

  David,

  You can pass only the ise node when its autonomous and through cli mode. Please, use the command to upgrade the application to do the upgrade.

• Error 0 x 80070643 installation on Windows Server 2008 R2 when installing PowerShell ISE?

  I am running a new installation of WinSvr 2k8r2 order on my server at home. and when I try to install Powershell ISE, I get error 0 x 80070643 installation.  I read the entries posted here but all are specific to MSSE and related to Win7, Vista, or Windows XP. What should I do to fix this error.

  This isn't an easy question to answer, there are a ton of variables to include

  LWA, the WLC is the "man in the Middle" to the request of the customer for PSN (server nodes), the WLC takes the request webauth and resembles webauth then the redirect URL that you put in the WLC

  If the redirect webauth URL is https://ise01.mycompany.com:8443/guestportal/login.action, the WLC is a redirect but the virtual IP address comes in 1.1.1.1, who was as trustworthy or redirection complains, then you may have to get the public certificate for the fqdn of 1.1.1.1, and the comment server. You can create a CSR using openssl or you can just enter in ISE and create a CSR, but you can only set CN = ise01.mycompany.com and nothing else, as long you have a single NHP is good, but if you have several Ssnp, you need to change your CSR so that you have to use openssl to create CSR using a file openssl.cnf and then with openssl, you do the following:

  openssl req - new - nodes-out openssl.cnf omf-01 - ise04.csr - config

  You must do it the way I said above regardless of CWA or LWA, if you have more than one PSN, you must point to a FULL VIP domain name and then configure your DNS to answer for these host names. With LWA, you get virtual IP WLC involved 1.1.1.1, so you don't have to worry about getting a certificate for this, it is a cleaner installation, but you must always do all the rest. It must ensure that users of your guests have the opportunity to join the portal comments and be able to solve the given DNS the dns server that they have been configured with.

  I have a problem to install ISE and ACS on VM server. Linux Redhat Enterprise is detected by the system when the iso file is selected.

  But some dependencies of the package are noticed as openssl kernel-devel or cisco...

  The installation will stop from print virtual daemon.

  OK, I recommend:

  1. check that all the VM gusts are configured to meet the required specifications (RAM, CPU, disk space, etc.)

  2 re - download the ISO file and try the installation again

  3. download and try OVA

• 1.2 VMware 4.1 ISE Installation failure

  An assessment of the customer, we are trying to install ISE 1.2.1.198 on a VMware ESXi 4.1 VM to an iso image in VMware data store mounted as the DVD drive on the virtual computer. the installation starts, but after the initial startup fails with an error that the ISE software DVD is not in the DVD player.  I wonder:

  (1) everyone knows this?

  (2) has anyone installed this version of iso in a data store?

  Refers only to the installation guide installation ISO with DVD in the Player VM host.

  I am currently downloading the .ova file to work around the problem, but as Cisco provided the .iso image file to the client, I prefer to do this work if possible.

  I have install from an iso in the data store all the time.  Whenever I have seen the error you receive, it is because of a damaged/corrupted iso file.  Try to download the iso file again.  No doubt, who will fix the problem.

• ISE 1.2.1 Installation fails

  I an ISE POC that I need to get running for a client, but the installation seems to fail every time.

  This works on a VMWare environment. Installation go through but after rebooting the system and final restart any services starts up. So I can just SSH into the machine but not http etc...

  I noticed that when installing the vmware tools install fails, and I think it's related.

  Have you downloaded the file directly from OCC?  Did you compare the hash values?

  What file name you are using?  It should be this one:

  ISE - 1.2.1.198.x86_64.iso

  with a file size of 3 940 336 KB

  If yours does not match what is above, you may need to download the file again.  I knew with ACO partial file download problems in the past.  I hope this helps.

• Post installation (is this possible?) ISE IP address change

  I encountered a strange problem.  I have a fresh (on VMware) ISE of test installation upward and running in my lab.  After a few days, I realized that I had to change the IP address of the ISE test.  I went through the guides of the admin and forum messages, but there is no instructions on how to change the IP address of the ISE, once completed the initial installation.

  Anyone able to point me to something that I may have missed?  Or... is this one of those times when the deployment of 'version' 1.0 product that I just need to rebuild from the ground up to "version 2.0"?

  You need to connect to the console, using ssh. Then, you have a CLI to change the IP address or addresses to other interfaces. ISE user guide section has a document describing the controls. Note: after changing the IP enforcement ISE will be restarted automatically.

• ISE installation problem

  Hi Security Experts,

  Today we have two new boxes of ISE 3315 for our data center.

  When I went to do the installation for them, I am facing a weird problem. I see strange characters/badly-spelled words. I tried to restart the box without help, and the problem persists after restarting, as well. I also tried to start from DVD and even the BIOS boot options are all weird. Problem I am facing is that I type a few characters and it appears as a totally different character on terminal has someone saw a similar question? If so, what is the workaround? I configured Cisco recommended settings of the console for ISE.

  Yes, you are right. The document was created before ISE 1.2. You can generate the CSR from the interface of ISE and add SAN.

  As you have switchable graphics from AMD/Intel, the two drivers are installed by just the AMD software package - if you open Device Manager and look at the properties of your GPU from Intel, you will see the driver provider is AMD.

  You can only recover the cli password after you restart the node of ise of the installation DVD. There is no other method.
