  You say you use XP.  What is your question?  What do you mean 'conflicts with Vista?

  I suggest recovery discs you order from HP for your computer.  If HP is no longer the issue of stocks you can order such a third of Recovery - Disks.com.  There are several of these companies.  If you are going to use XP, you need to install XP from scratch and this means that you need XP drivers for your brand and model.  If HP has no XP drivers on your computer you must not try to use XP on it.

  Remember that Vista Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate out of Microsoft support on 10 April and there will be more updates, including critical security patches after that date.  Only Vista business and company will continue to receive updates.  You might consider this a good time to upgrade to Windows 7.  You must download and run the Windows Update Advisor once you restored Vista successfully.

  It is not DDR3 or DDR2 even... it's the original DDR, just DDR PC2700 aka. PC3200 or DDR400 (same thing) also works

  Here's your solution:
  1. go to bios with F2 when you see the toshiba start screen.
  2. Select the arrow to the left using the "Advanced".
  3 press down until you get to "SATA Controller Mode".
  4 change, using F7/F8, Chang [AHCI] setting [compatibility].
  5. make sure the CD/DVD drive is the first to start and F10 save and exit. computer restart when you are prompted to "press any key" press a button and hey presto as before windows will start the installation, but this time you won't get windows you said:

  Set up did not find Ant hard disks installed on your computer.

  Make sure any drive HARD are powered on and properly connected to your computer and any hard disk related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or Setup program.

  Use the drivers disk dated Fujitsu since it is a path way to have a functional system, you can always update drivers through Windows Update. It is not essential to have the latest drivers.

  Insert the Windows 7 reinstall disk

  Restart your computer immediately begin to type f12 for the boot menu.

  When the Startup menu appears, choose option 2 or 3 for the DVD player.

  Basically, as you rightly mentioned, "Windows 7 Home Basic can join only but cannot create a homegroup." He needs a higher edition of Windows 7 Home Premium, Ultimate or professional to create a homegroup, and then Windows 7 Home Basic Edition can participate. • Windows 7 Home Basic 32 Bit software problem

  I had emailed twice to * address email is removed from the privacy * mentioning that my original Windows 7 Home Basic 32-bit software is not activating even by the telephone system automated after I had formatted the machine and re-installed from the installation disc, but both times the mail has bounced back stating that the mailbox of * address email is removed from the privacy * is full and return to more late. What should I do? Is there any alternative e-mail id at * address email is removed from privacy? *

  Have you tried to restart by phone?

  How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
   
  1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
   
  (2) press the ENTER"" key.
   
  (3) select your "country" in the list.
   
  (4) choose the option "activate phone".
   
  (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
   
  (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
