installation of coldfusion on tomcat 5.5

I'm doing a project involving coldfusion and j2ee (what a good idea, btw?), and I met some problems on installation of coldfusion.

I installed apache (tested and works well with a j2ee project), jdk 1.5.0.6 - tested with a few projects and works very well and a plugin for eclipse (cfeclipse I think)
then I installed "coldfusion-702 - win.exe" (downloaded from macromedia, developer version - it says it is supposed to work with j2ee).

the installer has 2 directories: CFusionMX7 and ColdFusionSearchService. in the first, there are "cfusion.war" file that I copied in the directory webapps of tomcat (as well as the "CFIDE.war" file).

then I started the apache server and it created (;)) apart a couple of directories in the webapps directory: CFIDE and cfusion (which contain more files and subdirectories))

Next, I created the file "setenv.bat", by following the instructions on this site (which contains the paths to the directories in coldfusion, access roads written here all corect) and place in the directory 'bin' of tomcat (next to the file "tomcat5.exe"). restarted the server, etc etc.
(set JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06\
Set CF_HOME = C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\cfusion\
put CF_WEB_INF=%CF_HOME%/WEB-INF) etc...

My question is: what should I do next to make it work? :)

I started tomcat and I tried typing " http://127.0.0.1:8080/cfusion/CFIDE/administrator / ", but I get the "Cannot display page" error
Help.

  • Installation of ColdFusion on Linux VMWare session

    Has anyone had a successful installation of coldfusion mx7.0.1 meeting of vmware linux? I found a problem on this site for coldfusion installed in a vmware windows session. I tried the work around by using a silent installation and still had installation problems.

    I get the error listed in the Setup log file indicating:

    Status: ERROR
    Additional notes: ERROR - problems wit the Extender of the type Z_/installers/CustomCode/includes/ant_bin_dir.zip's. "He said: error in opening zip file.

    I zip and unzip in the path and callable. There are a lot more error thereafter, but I think it's because files are missing in zip archive. Any ideas?

    Oh, I also tried to download this file 3 different times. I had an original installation file that I used before without any problem. I also downloaded it twice just to make sure I didn't have a corrupted file.

    I made the request to record the temp directory, so I could see what he was working with. I went through the decompression of the files I could find and found that Resource1.zip has problems.

    Maybe its a problem with this file in the installer?

    OK, I played around with it some more but I thought that I have here documents for later use, if someone has the same problem.

    I downloaded many times coldfusion linux installation.

    I'll implement this laptop so I can program so that not even connected to the network. I bought a copy of CF7 earlier and downloaded the file.

    I think that the download of "Developer" from the download section of adobe (macromedia) may be bad. That, or by downloading it 4 times on this computer all failed in the process.

    I remembered that I still had the coldfusion linux install file on my Web server, so I downloaded the file to my session for laptop computer to vmware using sftp.

    I should also mention that the md5 sums did NOT match those shown in the download section. In fact, I couldn't get one to match at all. I don't have a sum on the first two downloads, so I don't know if they match or not.

    Anyway, I knew that the cold fusion on my web server setup file worked, so I copied that and ran the installation using the installation in silent mode. I don't know if it would work with the installation in normal or not; I have not tried.

    So, if you encounter this error, it's probably the download. Try to download the test the other section (can't remember what his name). You can install either of those in developer mode.

    Hi Simon,.

    The license service uses the API of InetAddress.getLocalHost () and so your file/etc/hosts should include an entry for the two localhost as well as for your host name.

    Should resemble your file/etc/hosts

    # This is an example of the hosts file

    127.0.0.1 localhost

    : 1 localhost

    127.0.0.1 LMCFXD01

    Once you have the hosts file fixed, you should be all set.

  • Installation of ColdFusion on Windows 10

    Someone at - it installed with success CF11 (or any other version) on Windows 10 machine?

    I installed IIS, ISAPI, ASP.NET and CGI Extensions.  The CF11 Installer seems to work well and got to the point where it would normally launch CF Admin and came up with a 404 error.  I run the Web Server Configuration tool, and it appears a warning box that says "Version 10.0 installed. Versions supported are 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, 7.x, 8.x"after that I chose all IIS sites. Also, it isn't a record numbered under c:\ColdFusion11\config\wsconfig\ as it should, there is no mappings for the CF file extensions in IIS.

    You'd think that adobe would be all this because many developers will soon move to Windows 10.

    This problem has been fixed. The latest version of CF 10 / 11 update added 10 Windows / IIS 10 compatibility.

  • Questions about the installation of ColdFusion 9.0.2 version of existing in version 9.0.1

    I'm currently running ColdFusion 9.0.1 enterprise edition and plan to upgrade to version 9.0.2 version. I understand that this requires uninstalling existing 9.0.1 and perform a new installation of version 9.0.2 version. My concerns are below:

    1. for the installation of the 9.0.2 version the 9.0.2 installer (demo / trial version) must be downloaded and the existing serial number (used in version 9.0.1) can be given during installation to convert it in fully registered mode - please correct me if my interpretation is incorrect here. My question is will the existing serial key (as shown in the page Admin of CF 9.0.1 version version) work with the 9.0.2 version as well?

    2. There are many features that are present in the current 9.0.1 version - for example the sources of data configured in the Admin see Y page there a way I can save these configurations of the existing version and to migrate settings to the new 9.0.2 install, or what I have to do the entire configuration manually after the installation of new? Data sources is something I can think; What other configurations can I save, if such a provision is available?

    3. in the installation of the 9.0.2 version there is a question about "configure the Web server for CF Connector" allows me to add Web/sites Internet servers during installation. If I select "built-in Web server" as the option (so do not configure any Web-site Web server), can I change this and configure Server/site later, after compeleting installation?

    What would be the things I need to be careful during this installation to version 9.0.2 from 9.0.1?

    I did a successful version 9.0.2; installation answering my own questions, for the benefit of future development-

    1. Yes. Only the serial number is required (as shown in the Page of the CF Admin of existing facility)

    2 configurations (for example: data sources) can be exported. Go to CF Admin Page, click on packaging & deployment, click on Archives of CF. Basically, you export settings as files with the extension archive. car. Once exported from the current installation, it can be imported by clicking on the button deploying car file.

    3 server configuration can be modified (Add/Remove) by using the "Web Server Configuration Tool" which is installed by default with CF 9. You can find it under program files (windows OS).

    I had some problems during the installation. After installation, the CF Admin page would not be made. Virtually no cfm page don't take charge, because the extension is not known by the IIS (or the server you are using). To set this up, use the "Web Server Config Tool" mentioned above. This launch and activate the check box that is on the rendering cfm pages (forgot the exact name). Once this is done, cfm pages must load. I had to enable this and then do a reinstall but.

    I have a problem running after you connect the two with wsconfig Apache and ColdFusion services.  I tried to replace the mod_jrun22.so 64 bits with the equivalent of 32-bit and the Apache service will begin, but the ColdFusion services error when loading the jvm.dll.

    CF 10 docs seem a little thin on the configuration object and silent installation / silent / scripted.

    I need to find a fully automated (scripted) way to do these things:

    (1) installation of ColdFusion server in stand-alone mode 10

    (2) create instances of additional servers

    (3) configure separately each server instance (parameters, data sources, mappings, etc.)

    It is currently possible with CF 10? If Yes, where is the documentation?

    I aim a cookbook from Chef to perform installations without assistance of CF10 on a farm of Linux guests without a head. Manual configuration through the user administrator interface is a deal breaker defined here.

  • Why do I get an error 500 on a newly installed Coldfusion 11?

    I am running CentOS with Apache 2.2.15 6.6.  Today, all were installed on a VMware host newly commissioned.

    When I navigate to http://10.213.42.200/CFIDE/administrator/ to my laptop, I get a 500 error.  I read that I might need access from localhost.

    So, I installed X windows and a desktop client and then connected to the console VMware for the machine and traveled to localhost.  I had the same error 500.

    It is a facility very vanilla, and I can make any necessary changes.  What suggestions do you have, or what additional information should I provide to get a response?

    I was able to look up the errorINFO: failed to load: coldfusion. CfmServlet and found this thread:

    The problem was solved when I updated my hosts file and restarted Coldfusion.

  • cf11 on windows 2003 R2 installation problem: Installer hangs

    Here are the steps I did:

    . Download the installation exe (ColdFusion_11_WWEJ_win.exe): 571 106 928 bytes

    . launch it-> nothing happen (I see in tasklanager activity of the CPU for a few seconds then nothing)

    . then I tried to open the archive with 7zip and I found two directories: windows and InstallerData

    . then I tried to run "windows\adobe_cf.exe" and I immediately got the message: 'cannot run LaunchAnywhere - error loading of Java VM Windows 2.

    My version of java is:

    Java version "1.7.0_55".

    Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_55 - b14)

    The Client Java VM (build 24, 55 - b03, mixed mode, sharing)

    1. launch the administrator command prompt.

    2. navigate to the location of the installation of ColdFusion 11 program.

    3. type the command as shown below in the command prompt and press enter

    4. the installer will launch. Please follow the steps on the screen more far.

    I am responsible to install Cold Fusion 9 on a box that already has Cold Fusion 7 on it.  They really want to work side by side.

    I have a few questions about this, and I hope community support could help guide me in the best sense.

    (1) from what I've read, it is highly recommended to run only one instance of CF on a server.  Anyone able to confirm or dispel this suggestion?

    (2) I have changes in tag since version 5 and higher than my first resource link below.  If we move to strict CF 9, should be relatively easy to upgrade?

    (3) if I was going to have 9 CF and CF 7 running silmuntaneously on the same server, it was suggested to install the new version first, then the old version.  Well this server already has CF 7 running on it.  I don't think it would be wise to CF 7 just to install the CF 9 first to uninstall.  Do you agree?

    (4) if the versions are performed side by side, which is the indicator that says an application or a site running what version of CF?  My initial and limited experience with CF 9, is that it is resting site.

    Any other help or advice on this issue?

    I don't know who suggested that, but I know a lot of people (including us) run multiple CF instances on a server.  Running multiple instances of different versions of ColdFusion is a little more difficult, but quite possible.

    Relatively easy, Yes.  But not easy enough that you don't want to do the upgrade in a development environment first and thourghly examine your base before you do in production code.  One of the biggest witch hunt is to have functions defined user (UDF) in the code with a function name that is now a function integrated into the new version.

    It is quite possible to have multiple versions of ColdFusion running side by side.  But we have to plan for it from the beginning.  To do this, you must use the 'multiple' server configuration of ColdFusion Enterprise (or developer) an installation of ColdFusion license.  If your CF 7 is not that, it's very common choice of a stand-alone business or a license of ColdFusion Standard, you will need to uninstall and reinstall in the «Multiple server» configuration

    This is done through the web server connectors.  It is quite easy to define an instance of ColdFusion spefic and connect to a specific site on the Web server.  GUI Web Server Connector tool makes it really easy to implement.

    Since in the current situation there is a lot of fixes and patches for the Coldfusion 8... If I want to install it in a new fresh Server I should?

    1. use Setup from the given CD and then download the patch manually update my app server?

    2. or I just download a new installer for Coldfusion 8 from Adobe's Web site, hoping that this new installer has included all the current patches, so I don't have to do it manually? is it really as I hope or just that I dream?

    I'm a little confused on this subject... so please someone make me warm and clear on this fixed installation of process? I don't want to be left aside for the patches...

    Available on the website of Adobe CF 8 installer is 8.0.1, as I mentioned previously. So download that. Then, you can simply install Cumulative Hot 4 difficulty - that's why they call it a fix 'cascading '. There may be some post-CH4 patches, but you will then apply them subsequently.

    I just purchased coldfusion 8 and have a few questions about the installation:

    (1) what are the options iis should be installed before the installation of coldfusion? (what are the minimum options must be installed with iis)
    (2) what I need to have a mail server such as microsoft exchange running to take advantage of the intrusion via cfmail or coldfusion has just this?
    (3) should I install sql 2005 before installing coldfusion and sql options must be installed?

    (1) IIS only. Do not have ASP/.NET installed. Just the web server and you can install the management console, so you can make changes.

    (2) If you want to send a mail, you'll need an SMTP server * somewhere * that you can send an email too.

    (3) is irrelevant. Ideally, your SQL server server must be on another box. Simply a default installation.
